Ministers take a very teeny tiny percentage of our budget.In fact we spend much more on our military($120m) yet it still doesn't take up 1 percent of our budget.

$15 MILLION GUINEA FOWL PROJECST (FOWLS ALL FLEW TO BURKNA FASO..NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT - LOAN WILL HAVE TO BE REAPAID FROM WHERE????

$10 MILLION REFORESTATION - WITH ALL THE TREES PLANTED DEAD - LOANS HAVE TO BE REPAID FROM WHERE????????

$25 MILLION WATERVILLE DOUBLE PAYMENT - LOAN HAVE TO BE REPAID FROM HWHERE?????????

WOYOME'S & MANY OTHER SHADY DEALS USING THE NATIONS BORROWED MONEY FOR SUCH DEALS - LOANS HAVE TO BE REPAID FROM WHERE????????

Surely the government must be doing something seriously to address the growing debt? That is what we want to hear rather than this reckless statement which gives the impression that the government is comfortable with the status quo.

Not long ago the president was calling for ministries, departments and government organisations to reduce spending. I suggested at the time that there should be a target given to each sector to cut spending per year over a certain period, and to have a transparent system of monitoring how monies were being spent, look for loopholes in the system and close them to reduce wasteful spending.

One would have hoped that the information minister would tell Ghanaians what practical steps are being taken to cut or control spending instead of this silly party political propaganda and posturing which does nothing to reduce the spending, but if anything, displays arrogance from someone who is empty on ideas or leadership!!!

In my view people like Ayariga have not got what it takes to head departments let alone lead a whole ministry. This is not a party political platform but the country that we are talking about. He must go at the next reshuffle.

The world Bank acknowledged that government borrowing was being used for development projects. So long as these projects help to grow our economy, we should be able to pay off these debts when they mature.

The real problem at present is the high wage bill without concomitant increases in productivity. we must make the public sector more productive to justify the wage increases occasioned by the migration to SSSS.
