The 24yr rule of NDC has only enriched a few like the Ahwois, Mahama Iddrisu,Betty Mould's, PV Obeng's,E T Mensah's the Tsikata's and all the babies with sharp teeth on the block. NDC only renders the poor poorer by robbing them even of the little that they have by asking them to pay high taxes and tariffs to pay for their stolen wealth and brainwashing them through propaganda under their false social democratic claims that "they care for the the poor" . The 8 yr rule of the NPP however saw unprecedented pro poor welfare interventions for the ordinary Ghanians like mass transport,health insurance, affordable housing,school feeding, development of hydro generated electricity like Bui to make electricity cheaper for the poor instead of using crude oil for the generation of electricity. Even under the roads sector NPP in 8years built and also initiated roads more than all the governments put together since independence, check with Ghana Highways.if after 24years rule of NDC, Ghana is where it is then what is the use of the party called NDC? it is only usefull to its leadership but not to the masses.

The numbers they throw around are average and not weighted average.

My business is on postpay so I can't comment about the prepaid meters. When they increased the rates three years ago, they bantered that the increase was 89%. For me, it was a 120% increase. How? On postpay (and likely prepay), there rates increase at certain levels of usage. They took the average by summing up the three different rates (on the three usage tiers) and divided it by three. In their calculation, they didn't consider that the majority of the usage was at the highest usage tier which had it's rate increase by over 120%.

I saw the post pay rates and I the increase seems to be the 79%...nothing higher.

Based on the numbers in the article:
before tariff increment: price per unit = GHC200/1400units=GHC0,14/unit
after increment: price per unit = GHC200/400units=GHC0,5/unit

The increase is here:
(0,5-0,14)/0,14*100%=257% ...

multiply .79 by 1400 and deduct the answer from 1400. The answer should be what you pay for the increase with the same amount of money spent

I have realised that the amount of electricity I paid for does not equal the KWH I loaded on my meter relative to 78.9%. I therefore suggest that the KWH paid for should be displayed on the receipt anytime one buys the unit.
