It seems to me that when Criminal Suspects have links to a Serving Govt one investigation is followed by another investigation that is followed by 'Questioning' by two or more other State Institutions in an ENDLESS SPIRAL of investigations.

A man was recently sentenced to TWO years in Prison for stealing Plantain. Nobody investigated anything. The complaint was the basis of the case brought against him and if he had any defense to the offense of Stealing, he would state this in open court.

Once PROBABLE CAUSE is established, as is the case with this GYEEDA Mess, the suspects are given their day in court and the opportunity to be heard.

But when you steal HUGE SUMS and are 'connected', layers of Inquiries and Commission Hearings take over the CRIMINAL Prosecutorial Process and it is only when the facts are watered down enough that State Institutions which have original Jurisdiction get the chance to do their own 'Fresh Investigations' of watered-down facts.

The Chief of EOCO was not even forthcoming with the names of those arrested. Who is he protecting and who is he fooling? The WHOLE WORLD is watching us. The Bretton Woods Institutions and other DONORS are sitting on the sidelines waiting to see whether to disburse or NOT to disburse Funds for Budgetary Support and Govt is broke and desparately needs that infusion of funds, yet, we choose to dance to tunes unheard of and this only infuriate the donors.

Can we for once prove to the Whole World that we are NOT a Nation of CROOKS governed by Crooks by giving up THOSE WHO WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO GET CAUGHT WITH BOTH HANDS AND FEET in the Cookie Jar? Or, were we Beneficiaries of the Loot?

You don't arrest some fictitious people and bail them pending investigations. You are supposed to have investigated them and got your evidence before arresting them for trial.

Now these guys are on bail how long is it going to take before the police or EOCo have got their act together before trial. For all we know some of these people may even not be in the country by the time attorney general is ready to prosecute them. Then it will all be whitewashed and forgotten about just like they are pussy-footing on the WOYOME case.

Somehow,those who are at the helm of our national affairs,think the creation of numerous departments would necessarily be the panacea to resolving our bureaucratic inefficiencies.A case in point is the obsession by Dr Nduom and his party advocating incessantly to divorce the Attorney General's office from the Justice Ministry.As if by mere separating the two,would automatically bring about fairness,efficiency and equity in the administration of Justice in Ghana.It's just unbelievable!!!

It saddens my heart that people that are put in positions of trust and authority in our dear country take undue advantage of their positions and steal from the state and go free, I mean free. They go free because of their class or political connection with other people in top positions and it is necessary for any government to start prosecuting and imprisoning people who commit such crimes against the state. Apart from the late Victor Selomey how many politicians/CEOs/MPs are punished for any crimes against the state? None, and not until the government take bold and pragmatic actions to punish people I think Ghana will continue to suffer from such irresponsible acts of criminality against the state. There must be an independent body to investigate such high level corporate crimes against the state,I will like to thank Justice Ampaw, Martin Amidu and especially the journalist who exposed GEEDA officials. On many occasion I ask and wonder if we have men of integrity in Ghana. God help our dear country, no wonder some of us we have all left Ghana and living abroad to get away from such recklessness and thievery at such a high level.
