IN FEBRUARY, FIRST BANK GAVE NOTICE OF THE DESIRE TO TAKE OVER ICB GHANA AS PART OF TAKING OVER ICB WEST AFRICA. NO REACTION CAME FROM LOCAL INTERESTS UNTIL THE DEAL WAS ALMOST CLOSED. NEXT THING, THIS CAMPAIGN OF HALF-TRUTHS, NAME CALLING AND MISINFORMATION TO BLACKMAIL AND GIVE BOTH GOVERNMENT AND BANK OF GHANA OFFICIALS A BAD IMAGE. IT'S SUCH A SHAME!

If that assertion is true I will charge the MP to call for an investigation into the transaction. Such acts tend to discourage Ghanaian entrepreneurs and also put a dent in the Ghanaian economy. Foreign companies will always repatriate their profits back to their countries of origin.

In fact, they tie down the hands of Politicians and corrupt them. This, unfortunately is lost on us because of partisan politics. I am happy that Napo did not point at a political party but rather hits the nail on the head. We need to get a way out of this. This is not to hold brief for politicians who also play a role though.

ICB is a very important bank in Ghana and if it falls, it will be catastrophe.

I only hope our Nigerian brothers do the decent thing for once. I believe for the good of Nigerian businesses in Ghana, Nigerians would agree with me.

After all, I find it difficult to see the attitudinal differences between Ghanaians and Nigerians these days. They are all crooks and that is why ICB is on the chopping board in the first place.

The Bank of Ghana as a regulator of the banking industry is only mandated to approve the sale after satisfying itself of the credentials of the new buyers as fit to be in the banking industry. They did just that. It is not the responsibility of the BoG to list somebody else's company on the stock exchange. Napo needs to educate himself before talking on radio. This ignorance leads to judgement debts in future. Mark my words. Soon the ICB saga will turn to a judgement debt to Ghana. The Malaysian owners will soon descend and we will start pleading and reaching settlement.

I want to use this platform to challenge Napo to tell the people of Ghana where corruption plays in the acquisition of ICB. When governments takes power and tthey promise to bring investors to invest in the country, it means all investments in the country belongs to the state. It has been stated several times that government has no stake in ICB but people like Napo and those faceless people sponsoring him cannot hear or onderstand this simple fact. It is this which make Napo and people like him blockheaded.
Napo was in this country when Bank of Afriica took over Amalgamated bank and he did not raise his voice. Again Access Bank took over Intercontinental Bank ,Napo did not find his voice. The common denominator for all these takeovers is that the state of Ghana did not have any shareholding in them as it is with ICB.
Is Napo the only MP in this country who cares about Ghana? Or he is the only MP who can speak and the others are dump and unintelligent.
Napo, there are so many challenges being faced by the people of Manhyia South and I would have thought your focus will be on their concern than the takeover of ICB.
Those who have given you money to fight their selfish interest have lost and that money will not yield the fruit they want which is against the will of God.

I have seen that the NPP nad their res are against the workers of ICB who have suffered from the bad management of these Malaysians and Indians who have been in charge of ICB from its inception. Typical examples of bad managers.
The of ICB is a big relief of sons and daughters of Ghana but the devils comprising Napo and all those sponsoring this news item will not allow rest for the children of Ghana who are concerned with their daily food and needs.
