The problems occurred during the last election cannot be attributed to the EC alone. I remember immediately after the biometric registration, the EC had wanted to use the old electoral register to conduct the last elections. NAPO and among others came out to protest against the idea. The biometric registration was too fresh for the last elections considering the timing and the fact that the data had not been tested. The biometric data should have been tested using the District Assembly elections to unearth the problems in it before the elections or subsequent elections. All these problems stems from the usual suspicion in our political system.

There is a difference between recognizing errors, or even the fact an entity admits that those errors occurred, and admitting some guilt that the errors were intentional or conveniently overlooked. The EC has long admitted the presence of errors in the system, as also established by the SC.

But to force the EC to claim legal guilt for any such errors would amount to coercing them to accept collaborating with the winners of the 2012 Election to steal the Elections. This is the coy scheme Napo is trying to pull off and possibly use that for future campaign against the winners.

There is a limit for accepting responsibilities before falling into the pit of guilt.

Not too fast, Napo! If you truly care for the Nation let go the bitterness of losing the 2013 Elections, and use lessons learnt from all the mistakes, including those by NPP during the campaigns past, in reformulating strategies to win the next Elections. Reforms by the EC need to be guided only by the revelations from the SC, not for placating any side, necessarily. It is only true reforms that would last and prevent the mistakes found and dissuade any side from manufacturing errors to contest Election results with.

Is it not possible for Napo to do analysis of the situation for him to determine that something went amiss in the 2012 election especially from the recent petition? The conclusion drawn by many Ghanaians and rightly so was that the 2012 electionwas saddled by problems contrary to the view that everything went right. Probably at the polling station level, things went right. The wrongs might have beem committed at the point of collation and result determination. That is the area Ghanaians need to watch carefully in the 2016 elections.
Holding a PHD is not all to it but one requires the wisdom of God to excel in endeavours.
Prior to the elections there was so much noice about ensuring that nothing untoward happens in the elections.But that never was. This should inform all of us that result is not about noice or talking. Results is about real work on the ground, even if in silence.
The elecoral reform desired should not be about noice in the media but requires serios thinking and work

Yes maybe Napo has a point but he is going about it wrong. I say there were irregularities alright in the last polls but there should not be veiled threats to urge the EC to conduct reforms. The reason why folks been congratulating Nana Addo is probably because most people think there were indeed flaws in the last elections but I don't know how far they would have impacted on the final results.
Napo's outburst could drive away potential voters and other moderate NPP supporters who may be fed up with the 'kyenkyenaa' posture of some of their leaders. It was a mistake in the last election so learn from it. The EC should listen to the concerns of the electorate and go across the country to get their opinions before the start of any reforms at this point.
