Sam I wished you could go to UK, USA, China, Japan, India, Australia, South Africa where some of the citizens are suffering gross economic deprivation and sleeping in the tube stations, cupboards in the winter, eating rotten food from the dust bins, no social support ie. families or friends etc and tell their leaders your ignorance.
Let me educate you before you start you murderous attempt to go on strike to directly and indirectly kill the poor Ghanaian patients for your political and selfish ends.
Suicide is a mystical and mysterious occurrence and phenomenon in ones life. If you were well and adequately educated you would know that the cause of suicide is complex. They could be financial, emotional/psychological, physical, environmental, medical, social/domestic/marital, religious beliefs etc. You should also know that suicide could be by default or accidental or for some people, a means to escape from disgrace or humiliations.

Notwithstanding, it is unfortunate the GMA president could make such a blanket statement knowing as a physician you need the research to back your claim. Suicide occurs every where from the most powerful , richest countries to the poorest war torn countries. If you occupy such a position you need to be very careful what you say because any careless statement affects not just you but the profession you represent.
