He said it as if he just came to the realization of this matter. He's just soliciting for the African vote and unfortunately our leaders are so shallow minded to realize where Blatter is coming from and where he's heading to, so they'll vote for him. We have 54 membership as a continent and you give us only 5 slots as against Europe and south America with fewer membership. Does this make sense? Do all the continents pay the same membership fee or the Europeans and south Americans pay more? Jeez, what's wrong with our leaders? What about Africa deciding to pull out entirely from the world cup? Could that be called a world cup? Will it's sponsorship be as effective as it used to be? Wake up African leaders and put your brains to work on this matter.

Blatter is in trouble with English FA for some time now, the German has now seen the light and join hand with English the Frenchman is fast losing his power base so he is now turning into Africa and Asia. Do you guys remember that it took the same Blatter to fight to increase our representation to 5 from the previous 3?.
What is CAF doing, are they there only to be misappropriating huge sums of money?
Sepp Blatter is the president of the World Body and must be tactful in his words and actions in order not to be seen as championing the cause of one Confederation to the detriment of others. I personally commend him for always gathering the confidence to speak on behalf of Africa considering the racist views of some of the members of the member associations, and even within the executive committee of Fifa itself.
I belief Blatter would have loved Caf to be forthcoming with these complaints for him to stand with them. He only choose to speak out as a last resort when Caf is notoriously adamant to stand up for the continent.

For instance lets say countries like Chad or Central African Republic make it. Their contingency of fans would have to those living in France, Belgium, etc..We should also keep in mind that we are assuming everyone has their immigration situation in order.

Success is defined as consistently getting two teams into the knockout stages. The next element would be looking at whether the fan base for the African countries are traveling to the tournament. I think it is embarrassing to watch AFCON games and the stadium is 75% empty. That is not good.

Let me tell you something, I know more than 20 Ghanaians who are trying their hardest to get tickets to go to Brazil in 2014 to watch the matches. I am one of them. There are so many Africans both living in Africa or abroad who will easily afford to attend all WC matches in any part of the world. Your assumption therefore that not many Africans can afford to travel to watch WC matches is highly ill informed and a fallacy. Maybe you are poor and cannot afford to do so, in that case speak for yourself. Africa and Asia deserves the equal number of places as the Europeans and South Americans. Its as simple as that.

The closest I can come up with that conclusion is if we should sit unconcerned for a group to come grasp us by the nose and ferry us across the sea the five slot allotted Africa that has the largest WC representations smacks nonsense of the five.

We know the five is not a fair and equitable distribution in proportion to the numbers for all participants but why have we kept mute until now?

The other time, the big powers woke up one day and realized CAF was a hindrance to WC games in terms of "odd and even" calendar stuff.

Ghana,Nigeria,Ivory Coast,Cameroon,Algeria,Tunisia,Morocco etc have all proven,they also belong,and can as well,win the WORLD CUP one day.
Look at the performance of GHANA BLACK STARS at the last WORLD CUP:SUPERB,CHALLENGING,SHOCKING AND UNCOMPROMISING.
They have clearly seen,we deserve a better representations than what they have,from time immemorial,offered us.
You also touched on the patronage of the game,with respect to economic standpoint.

How many people go to the stadiums to watch the games? Imagine a world cup game between Ghana and Nigeria being played in Belgium. Tell me how many Ghanaians and Nigerians will go to the stadium to watch it?

Secondly, how many african teams can beat the 13 likely representatives of europe? Probably few. That's where the problem lies. Africa needs to develop its game. Aside from Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt and Ivory Coast, the rest of the continent have a long way to go to catch up with the rest of the world in terms of tactics.

Since Ghana's first appearance in the WC, our team continues to improve. The more a team appears in the WC the faster the team improves and that is why African teams are still behind. Egypt is arguably Africa,s best team, but they may not appear in the 2013 world cup and all the gains acquired by the team may evaporate.

The thing is this, Africa is used to being told what to do or what is good for us. In the world that we live in, one has to be proactive, you have to know what you deserve, what is fair and what you are entitled to and demand it, if you dont do it, no one will do it for you. Someone posted that Africans have the brain but do not use it, correct, if we have the brain, which we do in abundance, then we must use it to seek information/knowledge, find out what our rights are, what is fair, what we deserve under given circumstances and demand it. It is just amazing that it has taken Blatter to provide us with the union membership and equitable place allocation analysis for us to even know that we are being treated unfairly. This should not be the case, those responsible for these matters should have had this information years ago and should have demanded what is fairly due us. As I said, we now live in a world that only serves the interests of those that fight for their rights.
