Winning presidential election in Ghana has nothing to do with Regions. It is solely based on individual votes. Perhaps free education should be enforced on all NDC foot soldiers.

Who is this Dr M. Ampaw? His submission smacks of hypocrisy. Nine learned and independent justices sat and deliberated on an issue of such magnitude and delivered a verdict accepted by all the justices, regardless of their opinion. However, there are certain mischievous elements heading doggy NGOs who would want to convince us the majority that the verdict was a misapplication of justice because the verdict did not favour them. Will Mr Ampaw provide us with further and better particulars what he termed: " the way the verdict was delivered, however, did not meet the aspirations of most ordinary Ghanaians though there were various explanations provided from the majority and minority on the panel". Of course there is nothjing wrong if he is, but when one masquerades behind the facade of supposed objectivity to unleash such blatant incitements against the justices, he cannot be left to go unnoticed.

What indeed does Dr. Ampaw mean when he says said the way the verdict was delivered, however, did not meet the aspirations of most ordinary Ghanaians though there were various explanations provided from the majority and minority on the panel. The judges delivered their judgement the way they found it fit. Am sure he did not expect them to sit on theor heads whiclst delivering their judgements

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate in the 2012 election, Nana Akufo-Addo has stated that considering the current economic situation in the country under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, “the NPP remains the only hope for Ghanaians.”

“I am sure you all know what is happening in Ghana. The mismanagement of the country’s economy has left the economy in disarray” he said.

Addressing hundreds of Ghanaians during the second anniversary of the Nana Addo Ladies Club, in the United Kingdom (UK), Nana Akufo-Addo admonished members of the New Patriotic Party “to do everything possible to win back political power in 2016.”

Because, “in an era where poverty has kept many children outside the classroom, there is a need for the NPP to come to power so that we can implement the free public school education to enable children to go to school.”

this Dr. whoever he is is just so small minded its ridiculous - he said "comments from Tsatsu Tsikata, Counsel for the NDC in the election petition, against one of the judges also opened the flood gates for all sorts of attacks and insults on the judges". this is far far far from the truth and facts that we were all witness to. the first attaccks on the Justices that opened the door to insults againts them was the comments by a tema area NPP MP who questioned the presence of Atuguba on the panel. this was the beginning of the floodgates of insults, susbsequently npp and NDC party monkeys were hauled to the SC to answer to their insults. the attack on the justices was so exclusively npp that it culminated in their Sec General being humiliated in front of the whole country looking like the monkey he is in the SC with his lawyer arguing "gbeshie" or something to that effect. Tsatsu at least spoke from a position of authority since he was involved personally with the court case, yoou can disagree with his comments but i think his comments were a tactful way of getting the Npp to admit that they had infact dominated the bench where Kuffuor came out to admit that he had appointed 6 of the 9 justces. this put to bed the argument that the ruling government had influenced the judges. Dr ampaw should come again

It is full of nonsense to interogate SC judges over a case NPP could not prove beyond reasonable doubts.
I beg to differ my learned friend Dr. Ampaw. Dr. Ampaw, Judges do not think the way you think and delivering judgment is one of the most things in law. They base their decisions on facts on hand and if there is a tiny bit bit of doubt in the evidence no judge would rule in your favor. The burden of proof was with NPP presidential candidate. The case was between the Electrol Commisssion and Nana Addo and not even with the President.

Cnstitutionally, the President was declare the winner by the electoral Commission, The president was sworn in by the Chief Justice. Both actions followed the Constitution.

My personal opinion, let sleeping dogs lie, seek Constitutional changes and campaign for a law to be passed that would make polling agents engaged in any fraudulents acts a felony jailable to 20 yeras in prison with hard labor.

If you really want to understand the ruling read the judgement of only 2 judges- Justice Baffour Bonney and Justice Gbadegbe. Their rulings are simple and full of wisdom - even I layman can follow them.

But NPP disputed all these and went to court.
Even when KPMG, an independent referee appointed by the SC, produced its report on the number of pink sheets NPP had tendered in evidence, the NPP disputed it.`
Then the Supreme Court, after 44 sitting-days over 8 months finally ruled that Akufo Addo lost and President Mahama was validly elected. This was also hotly disputed by NPP.
NPP appears to be suffering from a psychological disorder -- they cannot accept the fact that they failed to receive the mandate of Ghanaians to rule. And this is what is going to cause them 2016 election as well. Since they are cock-sure that they won the 2012 election, they are likely to fail to see the mistakes they did that caused them 2012 election. They are therefore preparing themselves for another failed election dispute in 2016.

The Professor says the media has a responsibility to be professional and ethical. That´s fine. What message has the professor got for a person who goes about parading himself as a "senior editor" who does nothing but defend all dubious acts and dealings of a particular political party and its leadership?

Mr. Kwaku Baako is a very good example of such people who brings the good name of members of this noble profession into disrepute. But strangely enough, he has been allowed to carry out this role all this while. He was even a proud recipient of a National honour at the expense of honest, genuine journalists by the Kufuor government. Is this not enough to signal others to become defenders instead of genuinely defending national interests?

See how strongly he defended EO´s ownership of 3% share as against the total National 13% share in Oil Revenue. Once again, he is going about brandishing documents in defence of those who sold the Drill ship when indeed, accredited State institutions have been cleaned of relevant documentation! Is this the type of journalists Professor Karikari is talking about?

The judgement could have met the aspiration of Ghanaians if only the verdict had been pronounced in favour of npp. This is silly. Speak for yourself not Ghanaians. The populace knows what they want so give us a break
