What Ghana needs is to put the right mechanisms in place to easily prove corruption and then punishing the culprits appropriately with jail times. It is not rocket science -- govt. workers and the politicians know what to do, they just don't do it because they love the status quo that allows them to steal.

Look at Accra with all the overheads, dual carriage highway roads all over the places and Takoradi can't even boast of one overhead or stadium. Why? Make sure you organize all chiefs to stop them from looting your resources and polluting your town for your future generation are yet to come. The only revolution we need is a "change of our mindset". We have to embrace or accept with not strings attached the concept of "rule of law and honesty" anything below these two principles, will lead us nowhere. Armed revolution or civil unrest to unseat a ruling government, will be worse than what we currently have because those who will come in will be like hungry hyenas determined to shred a game into pieces with their sharp teeth.

Look, fraud or corruption, started with our first national government. Why? Because they were not under the microscope like today. Their activities were not being monitored like today. In those days, how many people understand what the system was all about? Also, we have only one radio station which was being controlled by the government so we were being fed by what the government want us to hear.

All those who were in government at that time were rich right down to their relatives and where did they get the money? Through stealing. I know some will rubbished my opinion but can someone name anyone in government at that time whose relative were poor?

Fraud and corruption has become part of our "DNA" and it will take a huge sacrifice or whatever to turn things around. It is not going to be easy because those who are well educated at the ones perpetrating these rot to the hilt and the poor and the downtrodden are paying heavily for that because they are being denied some basic necessities that any human being should receive.

Is this what Ghanaians signed unto? Is this what Ghanaians want? Can Ghanaians live under these conditions? Are Ghanaians comfortable with the status quo? Are Ghanaians thinking of what the future bodes for all of us, judging from the conduct of this NDC gov't in the last 4 years? Is it a situation, condition and an environment that, Ghanaians would want to live in? The banter which has been reduced to a cacophony of ugly noises, viewed through the narrow prism of tit-for-tat, he did this, they did that, with this inimical, destructive state of affairs, not pricking the conscience of the citizenry, whose mandate, serves as the license for such reckless governance to be unleashed on them, needs a re-think and a paradigm shift in our focus and the future Ghana wants for itself, in this widely accepted culture of democracy - a process structured to provide for the public good, steeped and underpinned by the rule of law, justice, individual freedom and liberty, transparent and accountable governance. We cannot continue to trod on this destructive road, we cannot continue to condone and defend such recklessness, and expect that, things would get better. It's just not going to happen, so Ghana rise up and determine your destiny, characterized by competency, selfless and incorruptible and visionary leadership. The Mahama/Amissah Arthur administration just cannot do it, and Ghanaians should speak to this issue and call and insist on a change in direction.

I have lived and worked in another third world, much poorer country than Ghana, for 4 years without witnessing a single price increase.

Although this 3rd world country is relatively poorer than Ghana and not an oil producing/exporting country, I've never ever witnessed even a single 1% increase in fuel prices, let alone utility tariffs and import duties.

And all of these are humanely priced for even a messenger in the public service here to afford without any complaint whatsoever.

In this 3rd world country, I imported a SUV from the US, paid a flat rated nominal and easily affordable import duty and registered this SUV UNDER ONE ROOF, which the locals call "ONE-STOP SERVICE".

The whole clearing to registration process took me under 4 hours (3HOURS & 10MINUTES TO BE EXACT), without the hussle of using the services of a clearing agent or DRIVING all the way to DVLA to register my MERCEDES GL450 series SUV.

Mind you, in this poor 3rd world country, you could go on a vacation for one year, leaving everything in your house with the doors and windows ajar. You'll return and find everything in your house intact - No crime whatsoever.

A spontaneous people's massive revolution is what Ghana need and rapidly need right now! That is the only way to transform our disgusting nose dived economy which is second to none but embarrasingly relaying behind war torn countries like Eritrea, Sierra Leone and Rwanda.

We do not have enough time for any change of gear from first to second, which Mahama had made it remain in the reverse for far too long.

Ghana certainly needs brave men and women who will make the country running economically on the high roads and not on any go slow Nima-Mamobi-Bamboi road.

Revolution of the mind can only take place when there is a strict application of our laws and people are not irresponsible but rather patriotic. Revolution of the mind can only happen in Ghana if we individually accept that, entrusting us with the finances of our country doesn't allow us to misuse the wealth for ourselves. We are to only use what we are paid monthly and all other incomes we may have accumulated genuinely and legally. All legally acquired wealth are also to be taxed , if there will be a proper revolution of the mind in Ghana.

As it is, it isn't like that, so I am asking the true lovers of Ghana to overthrow the current system of one man ,one vote and make us restart all over again because we seem to have forgotten where we started from. SHARP!!!

Investigate and recoupe the money as if they have borrowed it from the bank with the highest interest rate and charge a corruption charge which is equivalent to the cost of the investigation paid. in addition the person should be banned from public office for at least 8 years after the last cedis is paid. This will send a chill to all corrupt officials that their days are numbered. Mahama should do himself and his government a favour to investigate and prosecute the pending cases otherwise some one will investigate him and take credit of this opportunity of transparency, Probity and Accountability.

All religions accept that change can only come from the heart. It starts with knowing that corruption is sin and you cannot get to heaven at the end of your life if you keep stealing and cheating. "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" and wisdom is a gift of the Holy Spirit.
Majority of Ghanaians belong to the Christian and Islamic faiths but the teachings of our faiths do not make us adverse to bribery and corruption.
Christians grieve the Holy Spirit when we indulge in corruption and I believe the Koran has similar views. Many of our pastors and imams are hypocrites serving the god of wealth and hopelessly lost and therefore cannot admonish the flock when the pastors have reason to believe the member is engaging in corruption. The revolution is one of the heart. Christians, stand and be counted !
