No country with the calibre of KPB would leave him behind. Remember what happened to Ghana in 2006 in Germany against Brazil, without Essien, with Larye Kingston not included in the squad. We need " Enforcers" in the mielder of our game, a role fit for only Essien and Prince Boateng. In Egypt when the coach decides to defend the 5 goals, throwing KPB, Essien, and Muntari in the middle would do just fine. Assamoah and the other midfielders can wait.

Ghana needs Kelvin Prince Boateng out of an abundance of caution and for strategic reasons. Like Essien, he is of strategic importance for defence and attacking formations. Those who say everything will be ok without Kelvin should think again. It happened to us in 2006 in Germany, when Laryeh Kingston was left out of the squad because of a two match suspension. We thought in Stephen Appiah, Muntari and Essien, Ghana had one of the best midfields in the tournament, and Larye's absence was not felt initially during the group stages. But when we got to the next round, one of these three "generals" namely Essien,(I stand to be corrected) was ineligible to play against Brazil, Ghanaians started talking about Larye Kingston, but it was too late. Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. Please accept Prince Boateng back. We need all our good and quality players for strategic reasons as explained with this example.

Dede, Essien, Gyan, Kwadwo and the others played without any problems. Boateng should not choose when and where he wants to represent the Black Stars.
