I did not expect President Mahama to cast insinuation against his critics. This is a sign of a weak leader. The approach taken by those within the presidency and NDC, including ministers as response to Bgabin is a sign of indiscipline within both the presidency and NDC. Even if Bagbin was wrong in his approach it does not make it right for minsters and presidential staff to also use similar, if not worst approaches.

I expected President Mahama to have ordered his staff and ministers to desist from using social media to respond to this matter, then call all of them, including Bagbin in, give them a good dressing and ask them not repeat it again. That is what good and strong leaders do but not cast insinuation in public.

It also indication that by his response, the president is tired, cannot take criticisms in good faith and cannot stand the heat in the kitchen as General Nunoo-Mensah. He is therefore waiting for 2016 to bow out. If he is honest with what he said, then he might not seek the NDC Flabearership in 2016.

President, when it comes to fighting corruption within government and in Ghana, it's all talk by you. What Ghanaian are interested in, is action and not just words of assurance from you. When you are setting up parallel anti-corruption structures such as your proposed Public Complaint Centres and the Anti-Corruption Unit at the Presidency instead of strengthening existing ones to operate effectively to investigate allegations of corruption and prosecute those found culpable, how can you be taken serious in the fight against corruption? When you set up committee of investigation but not implement its recommendations but rather set up another review group as was in the case GYEEDA, how can Ghanaians trust your government that you are serious in fighting corruption? When your Attorney General worked for a law firm that was involved in the Woyome and Waterville judgement debt claim, how could she honestly lead the office that is prosecuting of Woyome even if she is the figure head and not directly prosecuting the case? How can Ghanaians believe your government is serious about retrieving the Ghc 51 million from Woyome when Betty Mould Iddrisu, Barton Oduro, Neequaye and Samuel Asimenu who colluded to give the money to Woyome have not been called as prosecution witnesses? How can Ghanaians trust your Attorney General that the Woyome trial is not joke, when Martin Amidu is not expected to appear a witness for the prosecution, especially in view of the his letter yesterday?

Mr President, you must be joking that you are serious about fighting corruption. Some of us are not persuaded.

In fact, I have been doing that since the late Atta-Mills's government and I will continue to be objective. I am not a fundamentalist sympathiser. In fact, by critising Mahama's approach to this matter in particular and how he is dealing with the fight against corruption in general, I am doing more good than harm. If your view is that because I support or sympathise with NDC and Mahama's presidency, I should not criticise but support whatever, he does, whether right or wrong, then you are mistaken. That is not me. I am rational and a living human being who assesses each case on its merit, the prevailing facts and circumstances and make a decision.

By the way, Mahama has been president for over ONE year -- he was sworn in the day Mills died and he has been in the administration for 5 years. Stop these bogus excuses for the incompetent president. If he is serious about corruption he should hire Amidu back and put him in charge of fighting corruption. Mahama is part of the corruption going on that is why he is waiting for 2016 to roll by so he can run away. Indemnity clause ought to be removed so presidents can be held accountable. Bagbin believes he is a lawyer and Mahama is not, so he knows more about governance than Mahama. How wrong he is. Who told him that the best lawyers make the best presidents? This attitude is elitist and cost the NPP in 2008, when 17 people felt if Kuffour could be president, then they too deserve the seat. The Presidency requires no mere book nor professional qualification, infact presidential qualities are never gotten from books. That is why Kuffour prevailed where the "17 NPP wise men" pretenders including Nana Addo failed. Those in NDC especially from the North feeling more entitled to the throne than Mahama must hold their peace. 2016 is just around the corner. Let them stake their claims at the polls and we see "kowa da kowa". Phase 2 of the 3% Sunyani smoothness level in the making. Now it is the time of Mahama, as it was the times of Kuffour, Mills and Rawlings. In fact the era of the Johns would end one day, but not on the terms of mischief makers like Bagbin. It would take more than personal pride and sense of entitlement to end the "pre-destined" era of the John's reign in Ghana.

Why is nobody asking Bagbin to lay bare his recent claims of corruption going on right in the government for all to read? Mahama, has not denied any corruption from the GYEEDA fiasco and what have you. Instead, he has boldly set up a task-force to thoroughly investigate and report their findings back to him for the appropriate action.

Unlike, Kufuor's era whereby Ghanaians were lectured about corruption being the great pal of The Biblical Adam long before Ghana was discovered, any time the subject come up. Hence, therefore, anybody having qualm with his government on corruption charges could do oneself a simple favour by buying a good lawyer and proceeding to the courts.

NDC is a party with many persons that cannot see issues bigger than they themselves. The manner in which they allowed their former leader, the late Mills, to be a free-for-all punching bag into his grave shows NDC is party that does not understand the act of ruling. It is surprising they have not learnt any lessons from demise of Mills. Many in the party are not willing to sacrifice personal any benefits and comfort for the national good. They are looking for their personal rewards without fail and this is why many of them are complaining as if some injustice has been done them. If a party cannot protect and help the president it has produced to succeed, then it does not deserve to have a president from among them. It is easy to predict that, the day NDC loses power, it will take them a very very long time for them to come back.

I said that because,I have observed that our model of Journalism in the Country inflame political tensions-Attacks,Blame,Refute,
Counterblame, Excuses,Insults,etc etc,instead of positive information,technology, the Arts,local development,educate,sports,
entertainment,health education etc etc.
The worse culprits are the FM Stations.
FM Stations all over the world only gives entertainment to the public by way of music and intermittent interesting programs , announcement and advertisements.But in this West African Country of Ghana that is not the case.FM Stations are the Court of public opinion.We have all levels of the Judiciary there
(supreme court,appeals court,fast track court,
lower courts,and the chief justice are all there).
Therefore it behooves on the Media and the
FM Stations to revert from the negative news reportage and programs discuss to positive vibrations,so as to impact on the minds of the people where we would have a break from everything turned political in the Country.
It is only the Media and the FM Stations that
can help with that Revolution in the mind.And
which in course of time graduate us to a level when our people would see themselves first and foremost as Ghanaians to move the Country forward.And not as NDC,NPP,CPP,etc
as we see ourselves at present.
It is difficult to develop in such environment or situations.

Mahama has done a lot in terms of developing this country. If Bagbin accuses him of corruption then he is corrupt too. Is the policeman that collects bribe on the road Mahama? Is the doctor who reports to work late Mahama? Is the teacher who substitutes teaching hours for personal gains and yet goes on strike Mahama? Is the opposition who gets soo much engrossed in politics therefore destroying properties and instigating strikes.
Ghana is in a big ditch and unless we change our mindset and make our institutions work, this corruption of a thing will continue to eat into us like canker because our minds are deeply polluted. You see if Mahama is to deal with corruption sternly, you will be shocked how many of your Family Members will be imprisoned. He is doing the right thing, i trust him. Strategically he will do it. Talata received a parrot as a gift. The parrot was fully grown with a very bad attitude and worse vocabulary. Every other word was a curse: those that weren't curses were to say the least, rude.

Talata tried to change the bird's attitude by constantly saying polite things. Words and playing soft music...anything she could think of. Nothing worked.

She yelled at the bird and the bird got worse. She shook the bird and the bird got madder and more rude. Finally in a moment of desperation, Talata put the parrot in the freezer to get a minute of peace.

For a few moments she heard the bird swearing, squawking kicking and screaming and then, suddenly there was absolute quiet. Talata was frightened that she might have actually hurt the bird and quickly opened the freezer door. The parrot calmly stepped out onto Mary's extended arm and said:

"I'm very sorry that I offended you with my language and my actions and I ask your forgiveness. I will endeavor to correct my behavior and I am sure it will never happen again."

Talata was astounded at the changes in the bird's attitude and was about to ask what had changed him, when the parrot continued, "May I ask what the Guinea Fowl did?"

All they are doing is just to frustrate Mahama and cover their diabolical period in government, characterised by massive corruption and international drug trade. unfortunately, some of his own NDC lieutenants are unwittingly undermining his efforts with inopportune criticism. Whether you are good or bad, you are bound to have detracters so ignore them and get on with the good work. Did anybody hear in Kufuor's time of a committee or taskforce set up to root out corruption, let alone arrest anybody? Mahama should just ignore them.
