It is also symptomatic of how political party elites in Ghana and Africa worm their way into the confidences of persons perceived as likely to ascend to power positions for purposes of eventual personal economic gain at the expense of the generality of the mass of Party members and the Nation which every President swears to serve under the Constitution...

This guy came to the job offering no real vision for the nation, instead he only served up absolute nonsense - Ede be keke - which for some, loosely translates into just existing at the wheels, not knowing which direction to go. To add insult to injury, he is telling us that, like a car, he is only in the first gear in a four-year term, so we can expect to see a fourth gear only in the fourth year. To hear that allegory from a guy and a president who had been a vice-president for the previous four years, and claims that because of the ill-health of Atta Mess, he John Mahama was really the one in charge behind the scenes, then we have reasons to conclude nothing good or extraordinary can be expected that is different from what we have seen from the last four years. The value is going to be the same, and corruption is going to consume all of us under Mahama. Our people tell us, 'Edwa beso'a efiri anopa', to wit, one can gauge the prospects of a good market day from the signs the morning activities project. Right now the country is sinking fast from all reliable indicators. In the last four years, the cedi has depreciated a whole 100 percent under Mahama and Atta Mess. What other assurances are we waiting for? To be hit on the head with bricks?

Look, John Mahama is not cut for prime time, he does not know how, and all his protestations are excuses to cover incompetence and corruption in high places, of which him and his party are direct beneficiaries. What the fuck is Ede be keke? Nonsense!

But being a nice guy is not the stuff from which resolute political leaders are cut from. Being nice may be a drawback in our situation where one needs to often close eyes to family, friends, party members, etc. and take actions that may hurt them.

Unfortunately, Mahama has allowed himself to be surrounded and carried by certain devious characters who have extended staunch support to him in order to cover their own dirty backs.

Mahama, as a product of the post-indep. Establishment, the new rapacious hires to the colonial legacy, understandably, has a laid back attitude to the derelict bad living conditions of the masses and the corrupt status quo, as something given. Not much different from the attitudes of Kuffuor and Mills. It shows in his actions in making certain appointments which shocked some of us.

From my own backward, why on earth would he appoint that corrupt, old, lawless police commissioner and impostor to the Anlo Awoamezi, Patrick Agboba still on trial at an Accra Fast track Court on another contempt of court charge to the Council of State, when there are far better qualified and clean candidates in the VR?

Why appoint ex-convict Abodakpi as an Ambassador? Why appoint Barton Oduro as Dep. Speaker? Those 2 stinks to the high heavens! And they are not alone.

As Amidu pointed out a while ago, some directly linked to the Woyome case have even been promoted.

You see, what we have seen so far is business as usual. Well, we've been told that he is still in gear 1, just coasting downhill, btw. I think my good friend Clement is simply blowing hot air here. The evil dwarves hardly flinch at such.

One time I reminded him that he had congratulated me thus a number of times already. That stopped him from sending such private posts.

Which of the articles are you referring to? I've so many in the works?:-) I completed one major one on the T-Thing, the pre-colonial era, long ago but has been waiting for the right moment to begin serialising it. Too much discord already in the air.

BTW, I a diehard and uncompromising pro-Nkrumaist, among other things. I dislike both the NDC and NPP equally, except that the NPP pple like to piss me off to boot, thereby drawing my bile against them.

I think Ghanaians are not fair to Mahama. The man is not a military leader and things don't happen overnight in democratic governments. The work of state institutions are guided by the constitution. Those who are accused of corruption have the right to be heard and this must be respected by all including the president. Decisions and processes are generally slow in countries running democracies so we have to add this perspective when criticising Mahama. Besides, most of these corrupt acts are not recent happenings. The fact that they being revealed alone is a step in the right direction. Have pondered for second why these corrupt as suddenly being unearthed everywhere. There must be a system that is allowing that to happen and we need to keep that system going to bring all the corrupt individuals to book. The fact that Gyeeda was investigated, a sole commissioner has been set up to investigate all judgement debts, presidential task forces have been set up are all efforts towards curbing the canker in our society. Let's support the president and stop viewing everything with a political lens. Even Kuffour who bought and sold a hotel during his tenure of office was not vilified like this.

The Chronicle of John Mahama’s Corruption. Tuesday, 5 November 2013-Hayford atta-Krufi?

President John Mahama and his NDC administration have been badly saddled with corruption and has as a result put Ghana squarely within the sights of Transparency International and other international monitoring organisation. Ghana is now ranked third in the world of corruption globally. This is the latest corruption perception index report issued by Gallup indicates that Ghana is seriously galloping in corruption from one institutions to another and from one person to another especially government officials.
This is a sad situation for us all as a nation, a south Sahara African country (Ghana) to first gain independence. The sadder part of the situation is that the government is not even taken this global negative perspective on Ghana into any serious thinking plan. It is rather fire fighting everyone who mentions this negative report. This knee jerk reaction to the fight against corruption is making it more and more believable that corruption is more not merely a perception but a reality.
There numerous reports that the President himself has been involved in a number of issues which can best be described as shady to an extent that a former Attorney a General under his previous administration in which he was the Vice President and later Acting President, has come out to confirm that a committee was set up at a cabinet level by the late President Mills to investigate his Vice, John Mahama.
The need to investigate him came over the poor accounting he rendered to the cabinet over the purchase of the Embraer air crafts from Brazil in 2010-2011 financial year. An unexplained $55million bill slapped on the nation suggested that the then Vice President Mahama had pocketed that amount. This was a serious damming issue.
Again it further came out that $20million for in-plane entertainment shot the final bill to $75million per plane, five in total. The President Mills, according to Mr Martin Amidu, the then Attorney General, put up three member committee to find out the circumstances leading to this bill. Three months after the committee was put into action, the President died mysteriously, and the report was never published.
In the run up to 2012 elections, there were more agitations about some 250 Ghanaian students sent to Cuba to be trained as Medical Doctors. Again some unexplained $50,000 per student was attributed to Mr Mahama who led the government team on the Cuba deal and there has not been any explanation as to how and why a free scholarship should cost a Ghana government that much.
The President's brother's indebtedness to SSNIT which was written off in unexplained circumstance and the resultant sale of SSNIT assets to defray the cost has also been another charge levelled against the President which he has not been able give any tangible explanation. In his own administration, the President has presided over unbridled corruption, from dubious judgement debts to giving of contracts to cronies. The Mahama administration has not been far away from a number of corruption allegations and is doing nothing about righting the wrongs, even to an extent that a sitting Supreme Court Judge described the administration as "create, loot and Share" syndicate.

While Ghc45 million meant for afforestation and guinea fowl projects under the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) programme, remain unaccounted for, over Ghc203 million is also alleged to have gone into private pockets under the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).
Also, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) is alleged to have paid an IT firm, Subah InfoSolutions, about Ghc144 million for telecommunication monitoring services though the contract was not executed. Commissioner-General of the GRA has not denied the allegation but pleaded to a lesser amount of Ghc75 million was paid to Subah for undertaking the verification aspect of the contract.
In another rot involving the GRA under Mahama watch, it has been discovered that some 280 state and private companies evaded taxes to the tune of over Ghc730 million with the connivance of Customs officials.
All these, notwithstanding the circumstances and the corruption which took place during the STX deal, the government officials confirmed including the President to have taken bribes, the over $250m reported varnished during the process for the STX deal for housing project in Ghana has not up to now been accounted for.nGhana our mother land is in serious trouble, Ghana our mother land is seriously bleeding internally.
