The government MUST pare down expenditure - dissolve/streamline some organizations, eliminate irrelevant programs and the respective lecturers from the universities, get rid i.e. fire some public servants, remove subsidies, revamp Internal Revenue and fire the corrupt officers (can be done by establishing an independent audit unit to monitor activities IRS), cut or eliminate some allowances of public officers, including MPs and ministers, monitor or scrutinize operations of CEPS, SERIOUSLY fight corruption; these just a few of my suggestions.

We have succeeded in reversing the little gains we made over the years prior ro 2008 because Ghanaians have taken entrenched positions along political lines. No matter how bad our party performs, we turn a blind eye and praise them. The crap and destruction continues and we all dey inside.

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to see there will not be any progress in this country for the next 3 years. This administration has not got the men to move this country forward and that is a fact. They talk too much and do very little.

his vice was in the driving seat to maintain such economical stability to the full, meanwhile this Bekoe Arthur
was in Charge Bank of Ghana when we saw that the weight of Ghana's cedis
as against the foreign funds is like a
paper if not even a toilet roll, from
where can this Arthur make Ghana's
economical condition healthy and stable, fellow country men and women.

The events that came to the public domain from Mahama was "YEA WE NNAM NO
AKA DOMPE" who and who "NA AWE NNAM NO?", the statement from Mahama was,

In other words, Mahama inherited the "huge structural deficit problem" from himself. He was the Chief Advocate of the crazy borrowing and over-expenditure phenomenon that has brought to its knees today. He used State money and resources to finance his campaign and in the process ate all the meat on the national economy, leaving only the bones for ordinary Ghanaians. Now he is taxing, taxing and taxing Ghanaians to make up for his profligate expenditure.

The NDC had other corrupt resources such as the Woyome money. Whatever amount they spent on the campaign pales in comparison to what they have looted and deposited in overseas accounts and in material acquisition in Ghana (mansions, luxury cars etc).

Yes, I said that Northerners are poor administrators. Why? Liman and Mahama presidency are a testament to that. When Liman became president, his administration came under intense and unstoppable corruption which brought JJ to the throne and Mahama is walking the same route like Liman. This should send a clear signal that not everybody can be president. Corruption under this government is unprecedented. It is the worse government in our history but there are those who favors it as long as the president is not an AKAN, it is okay because some wish the presidency should rotate just to tell all and sundry that we are moving in the right direction.

Ghana is at a cross road and she needs citizen with the brains and intellect to lead and not just anybody.

Since Mills/Mahama government took over, they have borrowed over 40 billion dollars and the question is what have they done with the money?

Ghana is yawing though not thirsty, meaning she is under "intense pressure" with her blood pressure hovering over 200/170.

Ghana is broke because those leading her are basically, clueless about governing and they are behaving like drunken sailors who just came ashore from a year at sea.

(Let this "excuse" stay off our discussion now till some other time).

But I take exception to your stereotyping that Northerners are incompetent Managers. The very best and most effective Managers I have ever encountered in my 50 plus years of life include many Northerners.

You have to consider the political climate under which we gave Mandate to both Liman and Mahama. If the Ethnic factor is anything that impinges on the performance of these Presidents, it could be largely the fault of the dominant groups in the Parties that chose these two Citizens to lead. Liman crumbled under the hefty weight of his Southern CPP stalwarts like Krobo Edusei. They made him feel unduly indebted to them that he possibly was afraid to confront them. I remember a particular case in Ashanti Region where Krobo Edusei was reported to have been in conflict with the then Ashanti Regional Commissioner, Mr. Kankam, over distribution of Sugar around the Region. Krobo, allegedly, sought for total control to distribute the commodity that was then in short supply all over the Country. Liman could not help to keep Krobo off. Other Administrative heads are those who backed Kankam to fight back for fairer distribution to all citizens. Who are influencing Mahama, now?

We need Mahama to exhibit the two most widely acknowledged positive stereotypical attributes of Northerners, which are integrity and exactitude, if we were to risk stereotyping. If he can push off the always-demanding Southerners around him, he would do okay.

You should go to the ministeries, district assemblies and you will understand what I mean. The cost of living may be high but that is not the only grounds for higher wages

George Ayittey must shut the heck up, if he has nothing constructive to offer. He has always criticized Ghana, without offering any constructive suggestions for improving our Economy. He even went to the US Congress to denounce us and sell us to the dubious, racist conservative radicals who have never truly wished for our progress.

He is only giving the foreign investors yet another excuse to abandon us. US could be said to have suffered Economic hardships, too, and borrowed from China and elsewhere. Could he appear on TV to claim the US is broke? US has had her rating dropped, too.

He does this to seek recognition as some authority on Ghana's Economy and secure his tenure at American U. We did not see him walk the corridors of our Parliament to sell us any remedy. He only finds fault with us.

Ayittey made a career out of blaming black people everywhere for everything problem on earth. The white racists of the USA loved him so much. Here they had a black man essentially doing their racist work for them. And they hooked him up with a university professorship, which emboldened him to go even more beserk and attack Jessie Jackson and other African-American leaders on the major tv networks and radio chains. He's come to Ghana to find a job because nobody needs him or his "apo" anymore. Economists are a dozen a dime in the US and they don't need anybody with some stale shit and no publications. They've got outstanding economists like Nouriel Roubini (originally from Turkey) who predicted the 2008 financial meltdown years before it happened. Where was Uncle Tom Ayittey? Or Kwesi Botchway? All these crooks are descending on Ghana in search of lucrative political jobs where they can loot to their heart's content when their party is in power. That's what Botchway is doing now and what Ayittey wants badly!

The elite in society have robbed the nation for too long. Things musct change.

I respect you a lot and believe you have the best interest of Ghana at heart. I also suspect you are serious about contributing your quota to end corruption and bribery, among other things for the betterment of oman Ghana. So I presume you will welcome an advice to advance that desire and help gather more people to be on your side to fight corruption.
