I think Ghana really needs to put up a CLOSED sign and say we give up. The country needs to be given up for adoption since we cannot manage shit ourselves.We need to all run up to the hills and cry for help.

I was sooo upset and I walk away since he was right .

i dont travel much to kotoka and cannot grasp the damage. but if one can share stats, it means the traffic at kotoka is a single spine compared to other gargantuan airports in the rest of the world. let alone talking about borders that run into thousands of kilometers, usa-canada, usa mexico, germany and across european countries who were outside deutsch mark and today's euro. because of bribery and corruption, that breed immediate jealousy and a communist govt blended into only voting democracy that leans only on supreme count. govt wants to have an overlook in every business, which is very legal. an overlook does not mean a hand in it. if an effective forex bureau or bureaux exist in the airport walls, do you think any intelligent traveller may wish to expose and make himself liable to possible fake currencies. money is the first reason behind 99 percent of world travel. better find something else to write on. kindly avoid using the terminology black. i have never seen any black currency yet.

I don't deal with forex wen I'm in gh. Hotels charge in foreign but hve no forex exchange. So if u don't want to be ripped off. Go to airport roundabout n change ur money. Ask for almadi

KIA has one forex burea that operates regularly hours. In almost all airports I have used, forex bureaus operate 24 hours thereby making it possible for travellers to change money should the need arise. On one occassion at Ko ...

In almost all airports I have used, forex bureaus operate 24 hours thereby making it possible for travellers to change money should the need arise. On one occassion at Kotoka I had to wait for the bureau to open in the morning so I could get some cash. IN september I couldnt do any exchange because I was very busy till the day of travel but when I got to the Airport at 7pm the bureau was closed!!! Had no choice but to use these blackmarket guys. It had nothing to do with their rates, I had to have some cash on me and I would prefer using a forex burea if it was available since I wud be assured its genuines currency I was receiving. The blackmarket guys aare aware of this and so cash in especially at night.

i've been to Ghana 5 times and never changed my money at airport in ghana or amsterdam or New York JFK..Most Ghana hotels are happy to charge dollar rates...And taxi drivers are happy to get dollars..I bring lots of $1 like g ...

Or use the Atm, most time at least one of big banks (barclays, Standard Charter, Ecobank,SSb, Stanbic) will take american atm cards! only your home bank may charge $5 per transaction

When passengers arrive at KIA - they are 'required' to pay for an arrival fee in US currency - not Ghana cedi's.
