  I think these slaughter houses should be re-innovated than to totally close them down. Since the slaughter houses are not enough in the country. If a town with only one slaughter house is closed down, where will slaughtering be carried out. How can Health Officers even inspect the carcasses to deem it wholesome for human consumption ?

  You too don't start something you cannot sustain. Why is it that NDc ministers always are courting problems for themselves. Has any new abbattoir been built for these guys? Even when we build markets for people to move in they refuse how much more nothing. These guys working in these abbattoirs are trying to make neds meet. Although the conditions are not right, what is govt supposed to do? provide them with decent working area and move them in. Dont go and start any senseless confrontation. Every minister wants to be seen working so they court useless problems which they cannot handle later. Learn from what has happened to your colleague

  I agree. Another strategy is to make sure the animals are slaughtered and processed only at certain times of the day, in the presence of a sanitary inspector. This inspector(s) "tankas" must be warned to stay away from corruption, as they could be easily swayed by "free meat" for "nkra-kra" light soup.

It is all about improving the slaughter house operations to bring them abreast with legal, sanitary, hygenic and other conditions. With all their so-called higher educational laurels, our "leaders" do not really and practically undersatnd what "developing" is.
