Good job to the Ghana worker. At least he did not ask for bribe to let him take that amount of money out of the country. This is the type of worker that we need in Ghana.

He should be promoted once the case is over, and given a bonus of $10,000 for a job well done, which will serve as incentive to other Ghanaians.

Lets not be in a hurry to judge.I know Hugo.He is an Ecuadorian by birth and a German by nationality.The lady he was with was his wife.His children live in Germany and Netherlands. He should have transferred the amount but that was his mistake. He had the chance to leave his money behind and go at the airport but he refused. He has been kept in custody for too long and he should be released on bail cos its not easy for him with all these health problems.There are worst offenders freed by the court.I pray the court frees him or is given a fine. He wants to do business here but the situation here is not the best and he cant trust anybody. So please stop you conclusion and be objective in you judgement.

For your info, in Germany it is illegal to carry more than EURO 10.000 ie ca 12.000 on you.

Anything more than that amount MUST be transacted through a bank.

The amount is certainly from his cocaine dealings ...

I know the notes are from Bank of Ghana. Thats all that is important. We are quick to bring German and American laws to compare but we refuse to use that to their to judge our leaders. Use those comparison to fight Vikileaks and waterville,Woyome and the drill ship saga and stop using this german as a scape goat. Who launders money money more than our Accra-China traders. Give me a break.

If worse offenders have been freed, it wasn't the same judge, nor at the same court nor with the same nationality. In his country Germany, not a cent would go unaccounted for. Go to USA or China and buy anything, even spectacles more than 300Euros and you must declare and pay tax, else, you will be fined. Ghanians import goods from Ghana, e.g. food, and without any checks, they throw them away. Yet, when they come to us here in Ghana, people like you let them take everythign for granted. He knows better than to make this mistake. At least, this will serve as detterrent to others in the future. What business was he coming to do and why are all these currencies on him? Isn't this enough to suspet him?

In every country, airport documents and information are prinrted first in the national language and then in English. Third-language information are hardly available.

When a passenger does not understand anything at an airport, the ONLY alternative is to ask - Ignorance is no excuse.

For the time he spent in Gh, was Afenyo his translator at where he lodged and all that he bought? How did he get the money into the country? That is also an offence as well for undeclared amount entering the country. I bet you people, this man is a money carrier. He came to pick money from the Ghana and was on his way to owners. He had already been to those countries whose currencies are on him. Thorough investigation must be made and this will lead to coke dealers in the country.
