Maybe God has sent a "Saint" into this police service and if this is so, I pray that so must it be For ever and Ever-- AMEN!! Police and bribery at check points; market areas on market days; at the border, name it, and every where the Ghana police takes bribe. If now God has sent a "Saint" into the Police Service, then let me appeal to the Mrs. Director General that she should send those "saints" Police men to go and clear those "non-saints" police men who stand patrol on the strip of road from Komenda-Junction to Beposo on every Tuesday and Friday market day, and same from Dunkwa to Beposo before the bridge, to stop those CORRUPT Policemen who build houses every market day at these mentioned area.

It is correct that criminals have actually found their way into the Ghana Police Service and it must be the concern of all Ghanians because their security cannot be guaranteed.One may ask how it happen and the answer is very simple for it is the politicians who put them in.It started during President Agyekum Kuffo,s policy "FINDING JOBS FOR THE BOYS' and this has been continued by the NDC government.That is why even people who have nothing to do with recruitment collect monies from people and putting them into the service.Strangely when they commit disciplinary offences the Senior officers protect them.This is the real state of Ghana police today,there are many ammunitions in the rooms of policemen which they use in committing crimes.Police men on guard duties don't show up at all and nothing is being done to stop it.Any person challenges what I am saying can visit the bank both in Accra and Tema on surprise check at night and see.I don't want to even mention banks outside Accra.The police administration is aware of what I am saying.The Press can make a follow up or ARIMIYAO can be ask to do under ground investigation on this.

Some of the Police Officers know all the criminals, but since they are on the Pay roll of the these Robbers, they do nothing to them. The Commander of Police on these areas, some are clearly involved in these robbers. Please, to bet me, let investigators go to these arreasrs and check up. Especially Atebubu/Amanten Road, and Atebubu/ Kwame Danso Kajeji Road. Please whoever reads this should take it serious. The Inhabitants know some of these Robbers, but reporting them to the Police, is dangerous, because their Identities will be reveal to the Robbers.

What happened to the policemen caught at Kasoa with all the red Cedi notes? What happened to the policeman caught by Papa Owusu Ankoma taking bribe? Did hon. Collins Dauda not pay GH¢50 to police on Kumasi-Obuasi road? What did he do to them? Why did the police refuse to arrest Collins for paying bribe? Was he above the law?

You know why the police are always on top of the corruption index? An institution mandated to fight corruption, are bold enough to collect bribe in public. Of all our corrupt institutions, they are the only ones that collect bribe in the full glare of the public! A big achievement.

A police friend assured me nobody can take them off the road because it is "dibi na me ndibi". He said all police(wo)men who go on the road make "sales". Of that "sales", a third is given to the district head, a third to regional and the other third to national. So, assuming there are 10 gangs in each district going on motor checks daily, 17 districts in each region and 170 in Ghana. So if 4 men in each gang pays GH¢50 per head, it is 50x4x10 = GH¢2,000 to the district capo, GH¢2000 x 17 = GH¢34000 to the regional boss and GH¢34,000 x 10 = GH¢340,000 to national OGA. This is WEEKLY! My dear reader multiply by 52 to get the annual figure. Ghana sweet papa. He boasted the worse that can happened to any police(wo)man caught is transfer.

If the police admin means business, the IGP should tell the public that anybody who records any police office anywhere taking bribe gets GH¢1000.
I tel him graduate unemployment would be solve in 5 days.

No policeman or woman can deny that bribe-taking culture in the Police Service from the general public they're paid to serve does not go on. The Police in Ghana are the most tainted of all the public services, topping even the Border and Immigration Control Services. It is with this regretful knowledge about the Police service that should prompt the attention of the Ghana Police Administrators to clean their acts, weed and boot out the numerous corrupt individuals from the service.

You condoned with politicians to pack the service with people who are not in the least interested in the service except the Single Spine salary which unfortunately has not cured their bribe-taking and therefore cannot be committed and you now turn round to state the obvious.The corruption in the Ghana Police Service has gotten to a situation of no redemption.The corruption is from the highest to the lowest constable which is nothing new to you madam. I believe you make this pronouncement simply to attract attention to yourself to put you in the limelight of government to appoint you IGP in future.Note that your pronouncements and activities do not portray you as a Public Officer who is apolitical, something unbecoming of a senior public officer and more importantly a Superior Police Officer. You are, simply to my mind not cut for that enviable and Honorable position of IGP judging from your "eye service" pronouncements over the years that have been skewed towards a particular party instead of the general populace whose taxes pay you.

This happened when the elephants were ruling. Asabee boasted that he singlehandedly brought in 300 men and women who are now police officers. Others too were randomly picked and bussed from the Ashanti region particularly Mampong and Nsuta in their numbers to the various police academies. Though all these people are Ghanaians but those in power be at that time did not allow the police administration take them through the normal enlistment procedures which include screening them to ascertain if any of them had committed crime before and also was of good character. Most of them had bad results academically but the politicians forced them into the police. Most of them cannot even speak good english. others too,speak in a local language instead of responding to others in the english language. this is very shameful to speak. How could they treat the police as if it was a boys or girls scouts? Asabee,nana bediako and co should be ashamed of contaminating the noble profession with all sort of questionable characters. Accusing fingers should be directed to these people.

Govt should elevate other hard-working female officers to the top ranks of the service to help restore the credibility of the Ghana Police Service,which has made enomous contribution to international policing and peace-keeping around the globe.
