The fight against corruption, abuse of power and impunity must be proactive and not reactive. We do not need to wait to be charged with poor leadership in fighting it before reacting in seeking to show leadership where we had all the opportunity but failed to be proactive.

Good leaders act; they do not wait to react to situations. Ghanaians will have difficulty electing another President from the geo-political north which the President and myself come from for more than thirty years after he has left office should this President fail to fight corruption, abuse of office and impunity in obedience to our ancestors and God during his tenure of office. Mark my words!

Secondly, I do not know the calibre of the staff at GRA. But I sense they must be morons who have no idea how revenue is generated in the economy. What GRA contracted to do was actually spying on the telcos. For one thing, Tax authorities do not go out of their way to check how companies generate their revenues unless they suspect crime is being committed. Profit making entities are taxed on their profits and not on their revenues.
Not only that but also the lack of sanctions when an Act (Procurement) has been breached.This is where lack of candour is suspected.
And the President issuing an order to stop the contract does not help his administation. Someone has abused the administrative decorum and must be immediately owned up and charged with an offence. That is where proper governance starts. There is no whip here and looks and smells like some officials are condoning. Period.

The government now wants to increase vat 2.5%.When this is collected someone will connive with another person and steal that also.
