Good leaders act; they do not wait to react to situations. Ghanaians will have difficulty electing another President from the geo-political north which the President and myself come from for more than thirty years after he has left office should this President fail to fight corruption, abuse of office and impunity in obedience to our ancestors and God during his tenure of office. It is the duty of the current government to bring the nation to the promised land. It is wrong to keep on blaming the past government, because each new government was preceeded by another one, and if we want to indulge in the blaming game, it would get us nowhere.
It is always the case that a non-perfoming governmemnt is voted out and replaced with one that is expected to perform. So far, the Mahama government has not shown any signs of leading the country anywhere. So people have the right to make their feelings known.

Isn't it the trade mark for the NPP disrupting a government of a party other than their own? It can be traced back from Dr Kwame Nkrumah's period when the Party's predecessor, the United Party, led by Dr Busiah raised hell with Nkrumah's government even though the CPP government he led was doing the best for Ghana. But for the extra-ordinary political talent he possessed, Nkrumah wouldn't have accomplished his national development agenda in that short period. The United Party tried to disrupt every government policy then. Yet, when they had the chance to govern the country after Dr Kwame Nkrumah was overthrown, they were trashy, absolutely worthless! Gen. Akyeampong had to come in for rescue.

The only governments NPP feared most were those led by the no nonsense man, JJ Rawlings. That man didn't tolerate saboteurs; so they didn't dare to bring them on during his time in government.

It should be recalled that the United Party, the forerunners of NPP, objected to granting of Independence for Ghana by the British, simply because it was not in the leading role of its demand. And having failed to achieve its aim, it resorted to engage in bomb-throwing activities and other disruptive tactics to wreck Nkrumah's government. Those actions continued until Nkrumah left the scene to die in foreign land. True to its trade-mark, the NPP did the same to Prof Atta-Mills' government - till his demise - and continuing same to John Mahama and his government; only this time they involve mouth-slanging and sabotaged activities by using organised groups/labour and individuals as surrogates.
