Good leaders act; they do not wait to react to situations. Ghanaians will have difficulty electing another President from the geo-political north which the President and myself come from for more than thirty years after he has left office should this President fail to fight corruption, abuse of office and impunity in obedience to our ancestors and God during his tenure of office. Mark my words!

I'm not a lawyer nor do I play the role on TV but I thought that the Chief Justice plays the managerial role of heading the panel of Justices of the Supreme Court of Ghana to finally ascertain the constitutionality of cases that have ran the gamut of our lower Courts.
So I was thrown aback to read that our CJ has initiated a probe into the so called Vickileaks debacle recently capturing and dominating the discourse in the public domain.
Is it the responsibility of the CJ or that of the Attorney General to conduct investigations into malfeasance?.Are we witnessing the reversal of roleS or an unnecessary duplicity of roles here?

The judiciary shall not be given nor shall it receive directions from the president, parliament, nor any other body. You people must realize that the judiciary is a very powerful institution and the position of Chief justice is a very powerful position. Leave the woman alone to do her job. Fellow Countrymen! I would like to use this medium to petition the CJ to cancel this probe immediately. It is of no value to the average Ghanaian because:
1. Should there be any adverse finding goes against J Drosmani's govt, he will definitely use part of the 10% voluntary task to bribe the probing committee so and it will come to naught.
2. With SC Injustice Atuguba sitting there, he will use part of the funds gotten from Madam Oye Lithur to bribe the committee and their findings will come to naught.
The judiciary, even prior to the Vickyleaks have lost so much credibility a la Atuguba verdict that even if the committee comes out with anything 'positive' we Ghanaians will not have a change of mind.
This whole exercise will be worthless and waste of time and resources. My Lord! please hear my case. I rest my case. Period!.

On 3rd November 2013, the Chief Justice was reported to have said “Ghana urgently needs visionary and decent leaders”; [General News of Sunday, 3 November 2013, Source: Joy Online].

I could not agree more with Her Lordship Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood.

With corruption in government and other public offices having now become the biggest problem facing the nation, integrity is the scarcest ‘commodity’ in Ghana at the moment. This country cannot progress if corruption and other forms of abuse of public office are not kept under control. It is for this reason that the alleged comment by the Chief Justice was seen by me as having been made at the most appropriate and timely juncture in Ghana’s history.

Nonetheless, when I read the report at Ghanaweb I was unable to commend the Chief Justice for the statement allegedly made by her. That was because the Chief Justice has failed up till now to come out publicly to say something about the bribery allegation that has been made against some of the nine Justices who sat on the election challenge against the declaration of President Mahama as the winner of the last presidential election.

Allowing such damning allegation against [some] members of the highest court in the land to stand unchallenged is sadly not one of the good traits of “visionary and decent leaders” that Her Lordship Mrs Justice Wood recommends to Ghana.

Now that Dr Arthur Kennedy has thrown a challenge to her, I believe, Mrs Justice Theodora Wood will not continue to do nothing about an allegation that has come to deepen the general Ghanaian perception of corruption within Ghana’s judicial services.....a perception that has deeply dented the integrity of the Ghanaian Judiciary.

The fact that the allegation of bribery levelled against [some of] the nine Supreme Court judges was made on the internet is not an excuse for the Chief Justice to do nothing. We all know that the source of any cyber crime or publication can be successfully traced if there is the will matched by determination.

It is time for the Chief Justice to demonstrate what she preaches.

Politically appropriate but legally faulty. This will not only undermine the integrity and neutrality of the supreme court and its judges, but also raises a question on leadership of her lordship. I am pretty sure the chief justice was in Ghana throughout the hearing of the case and was equally briefed before they came public with the verdict. So why will she go this route to sort of appease Ghanaians as a way of establishing the integrity of the court? Wrong move since this will only create unnecessary tension between her and the subordinate judges. After all, authentic leadership is being decisive and rendering unflinching support for individuals you assigned to carry out difficult task. The accusations of bribing the judges is nothing new and has been a regular topic since day one of the case. The attempt to lurch on to a recorded gossip as a means to validate the authenticity of a rumor of bribery against a body such as the supreme court is inappropriate and should be discarded. As Ghanaians we should have faith in our supreme court and the individuals appointed to man it. And the one to start is Georgina Wood herself who should not stoop so low to political pressure. God bless.

Yes we might be illiterate good for nothing garden boys, cooks, drivers, bodyguards, laundrymen and women and what nots but we are human we have wives girlfiends husbands and children we have blood running through us, we feel the pangs of hunger and poverty when we sit in the cars and wait for these appointees visit their girlfriends at the university campuses, we see the huge foreign and local currencies they dish out to their girlfriends, we hear of the juicy promises of shopping, mobile phone,s laptops and trips abroad when they talk on their cellphones. We know how many of them even sleep with their house girls and impreganate them and abort the babies, we are the ones who drive these political appointees to their mallams and the fetish priest shrines in the hills and forests and rivers and sometimes even help them to bury charms in graves in the darkest of the nights. When we drive them to functions we smell and see the sumptuous nutritious foods and wine and beer that they enjoy whiles we wait in the car in the dark all night with mosquitoes singing in our ears and feasting on our emaciated bodies whiles we sing dabi dabi ebeye yie. we are the same people who carry the boxes of money from their cars to their living rooms, the weekends shopping from the high end supermarkets, the dogs shopping alone sometimes runs into millions for dogfood and dog vitamins. When the teasing, taunting and suffering gets too much and temptation to steal to enjoy small gets high we no longer bottle up our feelings we stop the murmuring, we mobilize all the slaves in the appointees home afterall we are all going through this pain together, house girls bodyguards, drivers, garden boys and you name it and we sit and talk and grieve over over what our eyes have seen and what we have heard, the screaming at us upon the least mistake, the inhuman treatment meted out to us daily and we strategise and hatch our evil plans, afterall body no be coffin we are also human. must we die of poverty whiles these small small boys and girls enjoy themselves before our eyes? Dabi da afterall you can kill yourself for these appointees when you are serving them in their homes but they will never appreciate it. Even their dogs and birds are better than you. We are not criminals but what our eyes have seen and what we endure daily push us to steal a bite of the appointees apple when nobody is watching. But our untold stories will remain untold, the world has forgotten us whiles others think we are wining and dining with the appointees. But when the law catches up with us we receive the hardest publicity because we are the errant servants.
