If the contract has not yet been approved by government and MPs are test-enjoying the use of the security phones, what are they telling Ghanaians? What does that illiterate MP mean by not being able to use the phones for personal interests?

ALL the 275 phones should be retrieved from the village MPs and given to the BNI or the Military Police, period.

what is so bothersome to me is the fact that there appears to be no set guidelines or rules governing our officials coming into contact with foreign entities or accepting gifts from them.If there are established rules,then we lack the the tools or body which will enforce these rules and also the punishment for breaking those rules.Until we establish the machinery to govern the behavior and activities of those that govern us,even the most sainted well meaning official might be seduced into corruption by these deep pocketed foreign entities.

If this is not a ploy to soften their brain cells to tow a particular line in the contract involving ZTE and the Ministry of Comm; then I don't know what it is. This was the same contract that, Edward Omane Boamah is on record to have said that, they should pass it in spite of the problems inherent in the contract and after it is passed, they would make the necessary changes to the contract, on the back of misgivings that had been raised by Ken Agyepong. A medically trained Doctor turned politician in the person of Edward Omane Boamah made this unpardonable suggestion and he's a minister, goodness gracious. Is this a gov't team that is strong up there and can do the work? And to further muddy the waters, they have gone ahead to distribute phones to all the parliamentarians to get the deal passed.
For Titus Glover to say that this is not a conflict of interest situation clearly depicts someone who is totally bereft of the ethics of his position. This is a conflict of interest situation and one does not need an oracle to point this out to Titus Glover.
Governance has really gone awry under this Mahama/Amissah Arthur administration.

It's rather naive to be discussing how to 'kick' corruption out of our society with the law makers unable to be more discerning about 'gifts'/presents.There's no such think as 'free' in life unless it's from the Almighty. There's absolutely nothing wrong in making an offer of 'a kind' to a charity or organisation as a means of acknowledging a worthwhile job/service. Officials must refrain from receiving 'gifts, as is common practice elsewhere.
