I thought Alan decided not to contest Nana Akufo-Addo in the second round, so Nana was crowned unopposed and there was no second round between the two? Again, I read on Ghanaweb that President Kufuor was on his way to Tain when he received word not to go because NPP had decided to boycott the the Tain round off. In fact, it was reported that Kufour had to abandon his trip to Tain for security reasons but that was an excuse. The real reason was that Nana Akufo-Addo and his close advisers had gne to the High Court to stop the EC from holding the Tain round off but that did not work as the High Court Judge refused to hear the injunction ex-parte and ordered NPP to serve notice of injunction on the EC and NDC as interested parties. These were all reported on Ghanaweb (check Ghanaweb of January 1, 2009 for the court case). This man is talking nonsense.

I believe he was right,and this explains why Akuffo Addo hates his(PC`s)guts with a vengeance. He also went to town on the NPP ticket,because he,like others in the party, felt Bawumiah was a "parachute" running mate,who could not bring any additional votes to the NPP.By and large,he was correct.

What is Mr Appiah Ofori worried about if he believes in the democratic principle of One man one vote?Please,Please let every big mouth hold their breath if they are believers in real democracy and wait for the coming open primary elections instead of jumping ahead of everything else and deviding the party, a recipe for defeat in a general election. It is a mere folly to wash a party,s dirty linen in the public, thereby giving opponents cheap ammunition for the coming contest. P.C Appiah Ofori should know better as an experienced politician and democrat that party politics has always been about numbers, so hatred of their WORLD BANK Ashanti would not lead you anywhere if victory is your only goal in the future.
