He is not an icon and has so far failed woefully as a President to use soccer as his image is fast sinking to the toilet.

If Mahama wants sports enthusiasts to wear his "T" shirts, then he should go and form his own team and give them "T" shirts and even key holders. Even with that, there will be a problem because club owners are not allowed to do that. The question is; why is it that any time NDC comes to power, they try to policies sports? Former President J.A.Kufuor's time, there was nothing like that but starting from Rawlings era, no Hearts no Black Star, Mill's time, no Hearts no Black Star and Mahama's era is even worse. Again I cannot understand a whole MP, who has been voted by the people to go to Parliament and do something better for the Nation, should get up and say that the President's picture should be embroided on the National team jersey, what has this got to do with the development of the nation? It is rather going to divide the nation because not all of us support John Mahama. So, I will like to urge the NDC MP to reason with the signs of time instead of this kind of childish thinking. If he has nothing better to offer Ghanaians, he should resign and stop wasting our money and time.

Now this Mahama T-shirt issue is really a non-issue for obvious reasons: Every head of state is the face of the country he/she heads;it is not out of place that Ghanaian football fans at an international football event should be wearing T-shirts embossed with their president's image and the national flag; it is therefore those reading parochialism into such a harmless portrayal who are dividing the country because they don't recognize Mahama as the nation's president. May the Lord judge them.
