Who watches the watchman ? not only is our society now plagued with the worst forms of hegemony and chauvinistic tribalism but our govt is now the leader in govt sanctioned 419 sakawa scam operations that its notoriety has gone global.we shall now begin a series that exposes the modus operandi of these criminals as all one needs to be is quietly observant and one will see the proofs . in short they take a worthy idea or project , proclaim it good then when it is started by the gullible all of a sudden there are problems , procedures and processes which in the end result only in the promoters or companies spending from a few thousands to millions , in the meanwhile these ndc officials and their civil servant cronies line their pockets with monies from these unsuspecting genuine businessmen. there is definately no agenda to move the country forward , thousands of businesses are being sabotaged in this manner . the pact and alliance of these northerners and ewes cover all institutions so no investigation in these malpractices are undertaken. yes the anti Akan coalition is there to rob not only the Akans but all the unsuspecting who dare to come with their capital but the word is out and now people are getting wiser. the institutions such as the police , army , bni and so on are not there to protect the law but rather cover up for all these criminal activities by the northerners and ewes. if anyone doubts just take the time to investigate what happens to any project in the pipeline starting with the stx or any project for that matter. ministers dont know what their directors are doing , ministries that are supposed to coordinate with each other cant , files getting lost until someone pays , and the tricks are endless. yes its now time to tell the people the truth about these good for nothing criminals of tribal affiliation . their dubious reputation is known globally so now nobody serious wants to touch them yet they continue to travel the world to entice the ignorant who very quickly learn this is a scam govt which does not care about anything but what they can put in their pockets today . we shall soon have our war or revolution to rid us of this yoke. now they steal from us in broad daylight and think of elaborate media spins and schemes to hide the true facts but look carefully the truth is always there . long live the republic of Akan

How did you understand the experiences of Miss Elizabeth Ohene as captured in her piece? A journalist who set about to serve her country to the best of her ability. A journalist who was neither a terrorist nor a spy nor even a diplomat had the Americans spying on her every move! And this is a story that should set you thinking about creating an "Akan Republic"? How are the two linked?
You are so daft and myopic that an international scandal which revealed that America was listening in to the intimate conversations of its own "trusted allies", and which has generated such international outrage could only spark a flame of tribal passion in you? Are you correct at all?
If there was a way finks like you could be banned from using this medium, I would have recommended it to the hosts of this site. You are such a shameless tribalist that I wouldn't be surprised that you one day join a band of ethnic cleansers advocating for the killing of Ewes and Northerners and other tribes in Ghana besides Akans!
You sound like there is some conspiracy against Akans. How do you prove that? Akans are the dominant enthnic group in Ghana and they are among the wealthiest and most resourced. So why would you think Akans are at a disadvantage or are the target of some unseen enemy? Is that why you are advocating for an "Akan Republic"?
These are the sentiments that some people in other countries harboured which gradually grew into hatred and developed into a full blown genocide. Whether we like it or not, colonialism put different tribes together within certain geographical boundaries and we must learn to live with that. You think Akans always have to be in control of everything - including the presidency or the leadership of key institutions of state before you are satisfied that Akans are comfortable in Ghana?
This is not the first time you are talking tribalism and expressing genocidal sentiments on this forum. Just keep on spewing hatred at this site, we are watching and monitoring you closely and at the appropriate time the security agencies will track you down and deal with you like any other fascists.
If you can't live with other tribes in Ghana, go live on the moon, where you wouldn't come across any other tribe. There you will be the only living Akan and you can then declare your so-called "Akan Republic" out there. You are such an idiotic fool and yet you think of yourself as some wise guy with great ideas. Gerk!!!

Broddie-Mends, Im happy that you gave that mentally retarded twerp a good spanking on his backsides. That was a good response to that delinquent.
Some of our people take the world for a joke and when eventually they find themselves staring at poverty and misery in the face, they think it is the work of some spiritual evil forces or the devil. They then run to seek solace in churches of confidence tricksters who fuck them up some more with their false underworld practces in the name of God.
I have generally tended to ignore these silly childish tribal invectives on this platform because I have always thought they were the effusions of young misguided adolescents who just want to experience the thrill of saying something - anything silly or dramatic on the internet for a laugh.
Whatever it is, it is not a good thing to happen. Africa is so backward in terms of real world development that we should not be seen as having the space of time to indulge in such infantile and divisive acrimony.
Continuing bad and crass national leadership has led the way for total and complete mayhem to flourish and to profit above principle and civility. One can feel a palpable sense of a strong under-current sucking us all towards self-destruction and total annihilation.
Those of us who feel the obligation to resist this threatening doomsday scenario, must increase our presence and our voice on this platform, in the local papers, radio, TV, public and private discussions in anyway and in any subject matter. We may not agree on all issues but hey, between us, we know something has got to give.
By so-doing, we can also greatly learn from each other as our experiences and our solutions towards extricating our people from the quagmire of political shenanigans may be varied. The important thing however, is to get a move on.

Where did you get the idea about minorities ruling Akans, occupying all key positions in the Ministries and all that crap from? Who even told you Chief Directors in the Ministries are hired and fired by government?
If you care to know, most chief Directors at the Ministries today were at post during the NPP administration! It is the public service that employ them and there are rules and regulations that determine how they leave office and they don't come and go as simply as governments come and go.
Try and deepen your knowledge about your own country and the way the governance system works and refrain from explaining every little issue along political lines.
More importantly, learn to use civil language in your diatribe because you don't expect everybody to agree with you, just as everybody would not expect you to aggree with their point of view, That is the essence of freedom of speech.
With the kind of effusions that often come from you, it is surprising that many people suspect you have a mental problem?

But for the fact that you call yourself a dunce, there really is no further need to comment on both your mental stability and the substance of your contribution.
However due to your self-confessed cerebral challenges, let me help you think through what Ms Ohene has just revealed to us all.
First of all, almost all nations through the accredited world body, the UN, have for good reason, agreed on the inviolability of state sovereignty. This means that for obvious reasons, we should all respect each other and refrain from taking initiatives that tend to interfere in and undermine each others progress. Laws are not made for fun as we Africans seem to think. Laws are made to prompt and assist human society to advance peacefully.
Secondly and most importantly, the backwardness, the poverty and the sheer misery that we in this part of the world continue to suffer, is as a result of such criminal and ethically unacceptable activities against our govts and people by foreigners and their local puppets. Some nations are the first to break the very laws which they are the loudest in impressing others to adhere to.
Some foreign govts need to undermine and stifle the development of Africa in particular to ensure that they continue to acquire cheap and in many cases, virtually free raw materials so that they alone can exponentially advance for their exclusive comforts and happiness. They have employed shameful and sneaky means, such as Ms Ohene has revealed, to undermine our nationalist leaders and to pave way for the less principled ones to gain the upper hand in our system of governance.
Our continued misery as a result of such underhand and sinful conduct against us, is not and has never aroused their sympathy nor been their concern even though they hypocritically pretend otherwise and they continue to shed crocodile tears about our plight.

We don't need insults to make our views clear Mr Kponyo. I unfortunately do not know which part of the world you live in today, but the point I made was we do not need continuous overstating of the problem we already know about. Eavesdropping is all over the map, maybe Africans are yet to know about the labyrinth of this issue. I have wanted someone with lengthy experience in international journalism to have come out with both internal and external SOLUTIONS to deal with the challenge rather telling us the telegram history of phone bugging. Technology is far advanced now, so what can we as vulnerable individuals and states do to stop it or protect ourselves. So therefore, solutions should be the concern for now and not the news we already know.

Do our leaders, including parliamentarians have a very high level of awareness or sensitivity to the ever present threat of electronic surveillance and eavesdropping? For example is the government of Ghana aware of that the French government may be monitoring their internal communications including ones involving the dispute with the Ivory Coast and passing this information to their puppet Ivorian government so that the latter can gain an advantage in their argument? The French stand to gain business contracts if Ivory takes over our oilfields. DEAR H.E.PRESIDENT OF GHANA JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA & H.E.PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA JACOB ZUMA,
MESSAGE OF GOODWILL, GOOD SUCCESS, FRUITFUL DELIBERATIONS AND GOD BLESSINGS ON THIS HISTORIC 3 DAYS OFFICIAL VISIT TO GHANA BY H.E.PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA JACOB ZUMA.
IT IS WITH THE COURTESY OF DELIGHTED JOY AND EXCITEMENT THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY SENDING THIS RELATED ABOVE GOODWILL MESSAGE TO BOTH HIS EXCELLENCIES OF THIS HISTORIC 3 DAYS OFFICIAL VISIT TO GHANA BY THE PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA.
THAT THE TWO COUNTRIES HAVE A LONG TIES OF BOND OF FRIENDSHIPS EVEN AT THE TIME GHANA THAT GHANA ATTAINED INDEPENDENCE ON MARCH 6, 1957 AND LATER BECAME A REPUBLIC ON JULY 1, 1960 WHILE SOUTH AFRICA WAS STILL UNDER SUBJUGATION OF THE APARTHEID REGIME.
THAT GHANA NEVER GAVE UP ON SOUTH AFRICA SINCE THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF GHANA WHO WAS ALSO THE FIRST PRIME MINISTER OF GHANA ON THE DAY OF INDEPENDENCE THE LATE OSAGYEFO DR.KWAME NKRUMAH POSTULATED AMONGST OTHERS THAT "THE INDEPENDENCE OF GHANA IS MEANINGLESS UNLESS IT IS LINKED UP WITH THE TOTAL LIBERATION OF THE CONTINENT".
THEREFORE BY THIS RELATED ABOVE POSTULATION BY THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF GHANA MEANT THAT GHANA IS/WAS IMMINENTLY CONCERNED WITH THE TOTAL INDEPENDENCE OF ALL COUNTRIES ON THE CONTINENT OF AFRICA.
THAT IT IS GRATIFYING TO SAY THAT THE ENTIRE CONTINENT HAS BEEN LIBERATED.
HOWEVER, IT TOOK SOUTH AFRICA TO FINALLY "NAILED TO THE WALL" THE APARTHEID REGIME NOT THROUGH VIOLENCE BY THE MEANS OF ADOPTION OF DIALOGUE AS A STRATEGY THAT CULMINATED IN THE RELEASED OF H.E.FORMER PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA NELSON MANDELA FROM PRISON AND WITH THE FULL VIGOUR OF CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRACY USHERED HIM AS THE FIRST ELECTED BLACK PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA AND FOLLOWED SUIT WITH H.E. FORMER PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA AND NOW H.E.PRESIDENT OF SOUTH AFRICA JACOB ZUMA.
THAT THE LATE FIRST PRESIDENT OF GHANA OSAGYEFO DR.KWAME NKRUMAH AGAIN SAID THAT "FORWARD EVER AND BACKWARD NEVER IN THE COURSE/CAUSE OF FREEDOM AND JUSTICE".
FURTHERMORE, HE SAID THAT "IN THE PAST THE SAHARA HAS DIVIDED US BUT TODAY THE SAME SAHARA HAS UNITED US THEREFORE AN INJURY TO ONE IS AN INJURY TO ALL OF US".
THAT I WOULD BE DOING A DISSERVICE TO GHANA IF I DID NOT MENTION THE ALONE VOICE CRYING IN GHANA AT THAT TIME FOR "DIALOGUE" TO BE ADOPTED TO RESOLVE THE SOUTH AFRICAN APARTHEID CRISIS INSTEAD OF "ISOLATION AND MEANS OF VIOLENCE" AND IT WAS THE LATE SECOND PRIME MINISTER OF GHANA PROFESSOR ABREFA KOFI BUSIA.
THAT I WOULD LIKE AT THIS JUNCTURE TO PAUSE HERE AND TO LEAVE THE REST OF THE HISTORY FOR OTHERS TO ACCOUNT FOR.SINCE IT IS MY FIRM BELIEVED THAT "NO ONE PERSON IS A RECIPROCITY OR PARAGON OF KNOWLEDGE AND TO PURPORT SO IS A SELF DEFEATIST SYNDROME AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM WE HAVE IN GHANA AND MAY BE AFRICA TODAY WHEN PEOPLE FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE TREMENDOUS ACHIEVEMENTS AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF OTHERS TOWARDS NATIONAL, REGIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS.
IT IS AT THESE RELATED BACKDROPS THAT I AM RESPECTFULLY URGING HIS EXCELLENCIES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT EVERY COUNTRY IN THIS PLANET WORLD HAS/HAVE THEIR OWN RELATED HISTORIES AND THAT FACTS CANNOT BE UNDER-ESTIMATED. BUT FOR THE GOOD OF HUMANITY AND WITH THE REALIST APPROACH REALIZATION THAT "INTER-DEPENDENCE IS THE NEW ORDER OF THE 21ST CENTURY DISPENSATION OF SMART DIPLOMACY AND GHANA AND SOUTH AFRICA CANNOT AFFORD TO BE LEFT OUT BUT TO JOIN THE LARGER AND THE BIGGER "SOCIETY" WHERE THE ECONOMICS PRINCIPLE OF LARGE SCALE ECONOMY WOULD OPERATE.
THAT HISTORY ITSELF ACCOUNTS FOR EVENTS THAT OCCURRED LONG AGO, AND WE COULD VIVIDLY ACCOUNT FOR "EXPANSIONISTS TENDENCIES THAT OPERATED IN EVEN THE CONTINENT BEFORE COLONIZATION WHEN TRIBAL LEADERS WAGED WARS AGAINST EACH OTHERS FOR DOMINATION AND POWER.
HOWEVER, WITH THE EMERGENCE OF COLONIZATION AND INDEPENDENCE THAT THESE RELATED TRIBES ARE BONDED UNDER NATIONAL TERRITORIAL BOUNDARIES AND WITH THEIR OWN COUNTRY SPECIFIC NAMES LIKE GHANA AND SOUTH AFRICA THE FOCUS POINT, THERETO.
IT IS THEREFORE MY RESPECTFUL SUBMISSION TO THOSE WHO ARE LITERATES BUT MADE THEMSELVES SEMI-LITERATES TO RE-RESEARCH EVENTS CAREFULLY WITH CRITICAL ANALYSIS AND TO HELP THEM CHANGE THEIR MYOPIC MINDSETS.
GOD BLESS GHANA AND SOUTH AFRICA.
VERY TRULY YOURS,
BENONY TONY AMEKUDZI

But the sad thing is, there's nothing interesting or important in the stuff we do, so the listening in is a waste of time. We have no great ambitions of any significance, we are not planning any major policies that may derail their interests. Simply put, we are no threat to their interest, because we give them whatever they want without even their asking.
