THE ISSUES:
Why have the elections in December knowing well:
a) That the SWEARING-IN of the new president is in January?
b) That there could be a run-off election, which could be too close to the swearing-in?
c) That there is something called "TRANSISTION" from one party to the other—all of which takes time if to be completed properly before the handing over of power.
d) That there could be challenges and disputes, if not on presidential, but parliamentary to delay things.
Ghana, blindly COPIED the American Presidential and Executive system of democracy, but America's presidential elections are in NOVEMBER, which allows time for the transition in January the following year. ALL cabinet ministers in America are APPOINTED from outside Congress (i.e., Parliament in Ghana) to ensure effective "checks and balances."
But, look at the "confusion and hybrid" nature of Ghana's democratic system? More Ministers (cabinet & others) are appointed from parliament (well, that saves a little money, though), thus muddying the very essence of checks and balances, conflict of interest and transparency.
So, from the voting timetable suggested, Negro should also consider "electing” Regional ministers and MDDAs and letting MPs propose or draft or initiate or sponsor legislations for them to be real LAW-MAKERS, instead of being mere APPROVERS, since all legislations in Ghana come from the executive branch and that’s not real Politik. CAPITO, NEGRO??!!

Ghana is a funny place. I still don't understand the kind of graduates our schools under trees have been churning out. As soon as the SC decided that there was nothing wrong with over-voting, the NVNV mantra became invalid. All eligible voters can and must vote without verification, pure and simple.

The credibility of Afari Djan has so nose-dived that if he is not prepared on his own to resign, he should be helped to do so to save the country going through another contested election under his watch. This should not be an NPP and NDC affair. I am so shocked about the silence of the other minority parties on this serious national issue. Could it be that they are so indifferent to the survival of this country? They should let their presence be felt in the country now and not wait for the electioneering season as no one will ever take them serious when they so do.

Congratulations to all the parties. Now can we have a multiparty(NATIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION) discussion on a VISION DOCUMENT(Say vision 2030)for the country. The thing should be held earlier than that. November isn't the right time; elections should be held in July or August, in order that all disputes if any should arise could be cleared before handing over by exiting govt. Holding early elections in July/August could help the exiting govt. to close all financial statements that could also pave the way for the in-coming govt. to plan and adopt policy implementation priorities for effective take-over. I believe holding early elections is key to our political forward march.

Are these reforms not the exclusive preserve of Parliament? fixing the number of constituencies is the law now. Unless the law is repealed or amended there is little the EC can do.

Elections is not only about political parties. hence they cannot conclude that people must not be allowed to vote, when verification machines reject them, since the machine is only one of the verification

Blame JJR and his cohorts for all the confusion in Ghana's constitution and elections.
That man and his goons wrote the constitution thinking Ghana was for them and that no party was ever going to challenge them in court or otherwise for power. Therefore hold election in December and if anybody has any complaints let them go to the courts, meanwhile we (PNDC/NDC) will be in power anyways.
JJR and his evil friends’ of Ato Ahoi's, Tsikata’s, ruled and looted Ghana for 20 years. Sold to themselves Government properties -homes and factories for cheap and still go round insulting Ghanaians. Look at that stupid document we call constitution -striping native Ghanaians of their right because they're hustling overseas to feed the family back in Ghana. All because of envy.
Why elect Parliamentarians if you’re going to appoint them as Ministers? These people are supposed to be in their districts helping to formulate policies for development but no, the Black man is so stupid we have to do it the way our British boss is doing. So these parliamentarians abandon their districts and spend time travelling overseas as ministers for per diems.
What a shame and clueless we are as a people. We cannot even take a system and adapt it to suite our situations.
God have mercy on us.

Oh my days. Why is the whole country gone into a political frenzy? It seems so obvious that is one of the easiest way in the country to make money. It is just like the opposition parties waiting and praying for disaster to strike within the Government in power..I am not into any political party but can clearly see from the daily news on the web site about 2016 elections being the main aim and objective of the opposition parties and nothing else, particularly, the NPP Party. It is very worrying but can easily predict though God forbids that if that election which they are so concerned about winning, goes the other way the consequences will be very disastrous.
