Wild hunt for Odartey kids’ dad

Odartey Lamptey Children Marriage

Sat, 30 Nov 2013 Source: Daily Guide

Speculations have gone viral over which man or men may have impregnated Gloria, wife of former Black Stars superstar Nii Odartey Lamptey, after the latter revealed he is not the biological father of the three children his wife gave birth to during their 20-year marriage.

Two names that have topped the speculation list are Elikem Kumordzie, the first Ghanaian to have made it to the final of the Big Brother Africa contest, and C.K. Akunnor, a former Black Stars captain who recently worked with Odartey Lamptey as co-coach of Sekondi Eleven Wise.

Though no evidence has been adduced to back the speculations, Elikem and the football star have their names all over social media and several online news channels over the matter.

C.K. has not responded to the speculations but Elikem on Friday took to his twitter handle to deny the accusation and even used a couple of insulting adjectives to describe persons spreading it.

On Thursday, Okay FM’s Abeiku Santana speculated on the rumour segment of his “Ekwanso Dwodwo” programme that Elikem was having a secret affair with Gloria, wife of Odartey Lamptey, before he went into the Big Brother house in May this year.

Online news portal, www.radioxyzonline.com also reported that the news team of Radio XYZ had spoken to “highly placed sources close to Nii Odartey Lamptey, who have insisted that “the football star, on three different occasions” allegedly caught Elikem having an affair with Gloria right in the matrimonial home of the Odarteys.

But Elikem believes that the story was made up to allow Odartey to divorce the wife to enable him to marry another woman.

Odartey and Gloria have been married for some 20 years during which period they have had five children together. At least that was what the world was made to believe.

Two of the children however died, with the survivors being Khadija, 19, Moyesha, 18, and Latifa, seven.

“…I thought they were my children but upon a DNA test, I got to know they are not my biological children. The issue is in court so I’m pleading – because it is a legal issue I don’t want to go through so many things, but I am 100% sure that the children are not mine after 20-years,” Odartey told Adakabre Frimpong Manso on NEAT 100.9FM on Thursday.
