AUTHOR : SULE ---------------In the 8 years that the Kufuor administration was in power, the country went HIPC and the NPP gov't put in place the needed policies and programs as well as pragmatic social intervention programs, and they made it clear that, they were not going to deal with these Bretton woods institutions. The economy grew and as at the time the Kufuor gov't was leaving power in 2008, Ghana was rated as a lower middle income economy.
In comes the dimwitted NDC gov't, and the results are there for all to see. During the administration of Kufuor, the Bretton woods institutions were there, but they had to beg to get Kufuor's gov't to listen to them and what they had on offer.
The current situation is just like the 80's and 90's when we had the PNDC and NDC gov'ts.
It is an undisputable fact that, the P(NDC) gov't does not have the mental capacity, acuity and the requisite brain power as well as the drive to achieve anything. They are simply inept and grossly incompetent and this is an undisputable fact. Governance is a serious business not for dimwits and the earlier, we all came to terms with this basic fact, the better it would be for our socio-economic developmental agenda.

This guy came to the job offering no real vision for the nation, instead he only served up absolute nonsense - Ede be keke - which for some, loosely translates into just existing at the wheels, not knowing which direction to go. To add insult to injury, he is telling us that, like a car, he is only in the first gear in a four-year term, so we can expect to see a fourth gear only in the fourth year. To hear that allegory from a guy and a president who had been a vice-president for the previous four years, and claims that because of the ill-health of Atta Mess, he John Mahama was really the one in charge behind the scenes, then we have reasons to conclude nothing good or extraordinary can be expected that is different from what we have seen from the last four years. The value is going to be the same, and corruption is going to consume all of us under Mahama. Our people tell us, 'Edwa beso'a efiri anopa', to wit, one can gauge the prospects of a good market day from the signs the morning activities project. Right now the country is sinking fast from all reliable indicators. In the last four years, the cedi has depreciated a whole 100 percent under Mahama and Atta Mess. What other assurances are we waiting for? To be hit on the head with bricks?

Look, John Mahama is not cut for prime time, he does not know how, and all his protestations are excuses to cover incompetence and corruption in high places, of which him and his party are direct beneficiaries. What the fuck is Ede be keke? Nonsense!

Well-said! Unfortunately, your rant doubles as a fiery indictment of Kufuor's administration and calls into question his ideals as a leader.

Motivated by greed and ethnic pettiness, he fingered Alan Cash to lead the NPP into the primaries - a critical error of leadership on his part.

He effectively started the in-fighting in the NPP which inevitably contributed to the power switch which has landed us in the predicament we are in now.

You see, Kufuor forgot the people on whose shoulders he rode to the presidency and for who he was supposed to work - Ghanaians could have built a monument to his arrogance - and it is for his arrogance and greed that Ghanaians are suffering now.

Were he not busy perverting the orderly transition of power, government institutions would have been in a much better position to bring about the required changes needed to forestall the deliberate looting of government funds which has become a common fair today. Or was he interested in protecting his own loot?

Yes, the lads in NDC may not yet be a match for the wig-wearing ethnocrats in the NPP, but what good is a brain if it can't be put to good use?

Remember, to whom much is given, much is expected. So before you blame anybody in the NDC, school your NPP egggheads who screwed up and handed power to the NDC in the first place.

Do those involved in the transaction have something to hide? And the questions could be endless. Well, your public relations standing stink to the highest heavens and if Kwaku is the best publicist NPP can rely on at this era of image saving, then I am afraid he is not connecting well with the enlightened class. The best strategy here is the truth and nothing but the truth or just keep people in suspense. The intention divert the amount for private use was so clear. According to inside sources at the time, Kufuor gave a note in his own handwriting instructing the opening of this account. Of course Kweku Baako will not release that note.

One day he and his New Crusading Guide put out a banner story that the missing cheque was deposited into an account with the Chase Manhattan Bank in NY,then before the ink dries up,another equally preposterous version appears,all with their accompanying set of 'documents' to back up these phantom transactions.
And who in their right frame of mind, would believe this utter nonsense we are being about Tsikata "endorsing a $40 m debt to SG"? We all know no one could spend a cheque without clearing it through a bank account. Therefore, opening an account in this matter is nothing new and does not answer the question everyone is asking. Where is the money or what happened to the money?

If the money is no longer in the account, there should be records such as canceled cheques or withdrawal slips etc. to tell us who withdrew the money and for what purpose.

Can the New Crusading Guide go back and do further investigation and come back to tell us what we want to know.

In these two cases, what you tried to imply is the account was specifically opened for Mr. Emmanuel Bani as the only signatory which will not be possible since he takes orders from the High Commissoner. The High Commissioner is answerable to the Foreign Minister who was appointed by the President.

The balot box told them Ghanaians don't want them. The Supreme Court told them the same thing. The way they are carrying on, the rest of the country will exorcise them permanently. Which Ghanaian in his right mind will vote for them. Someone told already, sanity is returning to the Tema harbour. All the 'kululu'is being stopped. We are a comparatively small country and with the huge oil potential we have, lets not give this country back to the dogs to go back to feed fat our resources. The NDC should weed out the bad people among them because if they don't get it right, the NPP will rightly say they should be given the chance and that's it,kaput, Ghana gone down the drain.
