Do Ghanaians know that CORRUPTION IS STEALING?We all go to church on Sundays and behave differently on Mondays and the rest of the week.

To stop corruption we must first stop stealing.God hates that !!!

To call ourselves a God-fearing Nation we must stop Stealing from our Nation's coffers.

We don't seem to equate Stealing with Corruption,WE MUST !!Corruption is stealing.

We deceive ourselves when we call ourselves Christians,when we are 63rd in the Global Corruption Index.

THOU SHALL NOT STEAL is one of the Lord's Ten Commandments...WHY DO WE STEAL FROM THE NATION's COFFER'S EVERY CHANCE WE GET? Why?

Corruption in Ghana has been common since independence. Over the years, Ghana’s score and ranking on the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index has improved slightly, ranked higher than most African countries.

However, there is a growing perception in Ghana that government-related corruption is on the rise in the Mahama-led administration.

But a Deputy National Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah, has said fighting corruption in Ghana has become tougher since even some religious leaders are not worthy of trust in recent times.

According to him, Ghanaians should not blame President Mahama for Ghana’s corruption since the late Ex-President Mills was unsuccessful in fighting corruption in his government.

Solomon Nkansah is of a view that, to fight corruption “then we must all be very careful and assess ourselves well. First take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye”.

He, however, said on Adom FM that, “Even in this country, Pastors keep preaching that ‘come and ye shall be rich’…is it not the same money they (Pastors) want? If you willingly give out huge amounts of money in church, trust me, you will be appointed as an elder”.

Nigerian Agriculture Minister Akinwumi Adesina has been named Forbes African of the Year for his reforms to the country's farming sector.

"He is a man on a mission to help Africa feed itself," said Forbes Africa editor Chris Bishop.

Analysts say Nigeria's economy has long been dominated by oil, while agriculture has been ignored, even though it supports far more people.

Mr Adesina said he wanted to help people become rich through farming.

"My goal is to make as many millionaires, maybe even billionaires, from agriculture as possible," he said in his acceptance speech.

Aliyu Tanko from BBC Hausa says Mr Adesina has introduced more transparency into the supply and distribution of fertiliser, which had previously been marred by massive corruption.

The minister has also urged Nigerians to grow more food crops, especially cassava.

In January, Mr Adesina announced a scheme to hand out 10 million mobile phones to farmers to "drive an agriculture revolution" so they can find out the latest market information.

The phones are also used to get vouchers for seeds and fertiliser.

However, our correspondent says this goal has not yet been achieved, noting there is no mobile network coverage in many rural areas.

The main opposition party criticised the scheme as a "mischievous vote-catching exercise".

Mr Adesina was chosen ahead of some of Africa's most prominent businesspeople: Aliko Dangote and Jim Ovia, also from Nigeria; South Africa's Patrice Motsepe; and Zimbabwe's Strive Masiyiwa.

Although their country is one of the world's biggest oil exporters, most Nigerians live in poverty, especially in rural areas.

Mr Bishop said he hoped the award would "encourage the rest of the continent to grow more of its own food".

Pls Mahama do something about corruption. The tank is leaking and must be fixed. We are doing our best as cocoa farmers to keep the ship afloat, but others are sabotaging our efforts. We hear of people in the cities travelling abroad just for week end shopping and others buying private jets, how is that possible in a country where majority of the citizens live on less than a dollar a day? You must declare zero torrelance on corruption, increase the punishment for serious offenses, huge reward for informants, etc.

How do they substantiate this new index,if corruption is even getting worse than ever?
Ghanaians are caught/wallowing in nepotism,tribalism,favouritism,unpatriotic and uncaring attitudes. How then do we curb bribery and corruption,like the index is trying to propagate.

As the report stated, corruption is a serious world wide problem. It is clear the Mahama government is trying to tackle the problem which otherwise will stultify the country's development without a shadow of a doubt. All the opposition do is shout and shout, but did absolutely nothing about it when they were in power. It festered and festered when they were ruling, Ghana looked like some Colombia Menayin cocaine cartel style Mafia backyard rather than a country. Everybody's mouth was in the trough, from the Chief Justice to the Head Of State to the Attorney-General. They were stealing Ghana blind. All the rot that festered when the NPP were ruling is now being exposed and dealt with. Never again should Ghanaians allow this dear country to fall in the hands of criminals masquerading about as politicians. Politicians my foot. Now from Tema Harbour to the Fuel Rifinery, from Ghana Telecom to Ghana Airways, from the Drill Ship to GYEEDA and SADA etc, etc, the bloody rot is being exposed and stopped. But they wont stop their empty, hollow bizarre noise. Mahama should confront the noisy bofoonery with silence and get on with his work. Clean the system and clean it good. Ghana is clearly on the threshold of achieving massive strides in her development, if we allow thE NPP in again too soon, they will draw us back two decades.
