These people attending the African Leadership Conference, the honorable minister included, are so far out of touch with the realities of Africa in general, and Ghana in particular, that they might as well be extra-terrestrials. They are not speaking the same language as ordinary mortals yet owe their comfort, convenience and affluence to ill-educated, and desperate people who sleep hungry and have little hope of ever improving their quality of life.

Ghana is willing to spend millions on technology that has never, and will never, be supplied (eg GRA conspiracy), but when its practical application could be of real benefit to development nothing is done. If the consequences were not so tragic, it would be a joke.

Now there is the Kotoka International Airport attesting to General Kotoka, who was the leader of the 1966 coup. Kotoka is now being honored for distracting Ghana from attaining her vision is now a hero. Now that Ghana knows the truth, the question is, do we need to Honor a lie that abuses the collective sense of a nation. Should Kotoka be honored with a monument?. Another question, who is “Sankara”?. What did he do for Ghana that he as well deserves a circle to be named after him?. Why not after our heroes?. Don´t we have them?. This questions will be left as a chewing stick for our historians and nefarious politicians to chew and tell the nation the taste of it one day.
So what must Ghana do now? Is it not justified to tell Ghanaians the Truth? nothing but the truth?. We cannot wage war against the world’s only superpower America but we shall not stop telling them the truth until they can bear it no more. We will let then understand that they can kill and oppress many nations as possible, but the “Truth will forever prevail” so long as some of them live.
We all know that this coup was a serious lapse in judgment. It is a treason. Unfortunately, this admission has to be made, no matter how uncomfortable it is. Those perpetrators should be brought to book.
We shall prove to those Ghanaians who still want to believe that February 24, 1966 was not a mistake, even after the evidence shows that the core reason was a lie that they have betrayed their motherland. The child has now found out that the tragedy of the period after independence was not the loss of power by Nkrumah and the CPP. The real tragedy was that an initial period of experiment in nation building was truncated prematurely, and thereby the calm for natural growth and development was denied the country.
Today Ghanaians should accept the shame of embracing a coup that was fraudulent. If Ghana looks foolish now, imagine how it will feel like when history remembers that she participated in her own destruction, and 37 years later, still did not know what happened to her!. The man Kotoka who left Ghana naked on the stage is now the hero. General Kotoka is now named after an Airport which his hands and feet never touched.
Fellow countrymen, one more thing is sure; we shall make sure that America renders an apology to Ghanaians one day. Kotoka International Airport and Sankara circle shall be renamed after a leader who deserves it in Ghana. God bless Ghana.

I applaud your readers and their SMART comments. Ghanaian Scientists and the Government must Solve BASIC Problems first. FOOD and Productive Agriculture, HEALTH and Hospitals, Clinics and Laboratories. TOILET-FACILITIES( as in CENTRAL SEWAGE SYSTEMS). TRAINS and RAILWAY LINES and STATIONS, for Business and Commerce. As well as Airplanes and Airports for Business and Commerce.
These Technologies are over 100 years old. Yet We are woefully and CRITICALLY behind. So, Why bother with
the Sophisticated SPACE Science stuff?
We should learn from India, China and Brazil, dear brothers and sisters in the Ghanaian-Science Community. During the 1960's when The US and USSR were LOCKED in the SPACE-RACE, India China and Brazil were building their INFRASTRUCTURE...for Food, Agriculture, Railroads, Toilets/Sanitation, Health and Hospitals...etc.
Fifty years later, they have all ACHIEVED those BASICS. And Now India and China Have just STARTED venturing into SPACE. In fact this very week, both countries are in the news about their VOYAGES to the MOON.

What you have failed to realise is that countries in the West that are involved in space programs took the initial first step of ensuring food sufficiency for their people, build and developed institutions and capacities for wealth creation before they started their space programs. In the midst of grinding poverty similar to the situation in France before the French Revolution, how can you in your small mind think of building capacity for space programs. What Africa needs urgently now is a Social Revolution to get rid of corrupt, insensitive, and shallow thinking leaders and political appointees first.Followed by appointment of leaders who have their countries at heart, cognitively, and intellectually endowed to enact and selflessly implement realistic policies and programs that will develop and release the sinews of prosperity for the benefit of their people. IN THE 1970S WHEN OTHERS WERE GOING TO THE MOON, WE HAD CORNED BEEF, SARDINES, TOILET ROLLS, MILK, BUTTER ETC AS OUR 'ESSENTIAL COMMODITIES'. TODAY WE CANT FEED OURSELVES; AGRIC PRODUCTION HAS BEEN FALLING SINCE 2009. THEN AN IGNORAMUS OF A MINISTER CALLS FOR SPACE SCIENTISTS? EEEI! NDC GOVT HAS LOST FOCUS. THEY ARE MOVING THE COUNTRY INTO THE RIGHT DIRECTION TO A GARGANTUAN DITCH. HOW SAD!!!!!

I BEEN TO NINE DIFFERENT FOREIGN COUNTRIES AND GHANA IS ONE OF THE WORST COUNTRY THAT HAS VERY POOR ROADS ACROSS THE COUNTRY BCOS OUR LEADERS HAS NO IDEA HOW IMPORTANT GOOD ROAD CAN BOOST ECONOMY . DUBAI WAS BUILD BY THE ENGINEERS FROM BRITISH , CANADA , ITALY , GERMANY AND USA. DUBAI WAS COMPLETE DESERT BUT LOOK AT DUBAI . SO DREAMING SPACE SCIENTISTS NOW IS VERY POOR IDEA AS A DR.
