This guy came to the job offering no real vision for the nation, instead he only served up absolute nonsense - Ede be keke - which for some, loosely translates into just existing at the wheels, not knowing which direction to go. To add insult to injury, he is telling us that, like a car, he is only in the first gear in a four-year term, so we can expect to see a fourth gear only in the fourth year. To hear that allegory from a guy and a president who had been a vice-president for the previous four years, and claims that because of the ill-health of Atta Mess, he John Mahama was really the one in charge behind the scenes, then we have reasons to conclude nothing good or extraordinary can be expected that is different from what we have seen from the last four years. The value is going to be the same, and corruption is going to consume all of us under Mahama. Our people tell us, 'Edwa beso'a efiri anopa', to wit, one can gauge the prospects of a good market day from the signs the morning activities project. Right now the country is sinking fast from all reliable indicators. In the last four years, the cedi has depreciated a whole 100 percent under Mahama and Atta Mess. What other assurances are we waiting for? To be hit on the head with bricks?

Look, John Mahama is not cut for prime time, he does not know how, and all his protestations are excuses to cover incompetence and corruption in high places, of which him and his party are direct beneficiaries. What the fuck is Ede be keke? Nonsense!

Yes, they want the kind of development that only runs through the non-Akan areas. This is the brainchild of Ashawo-ba JJ Rawlings and the NDC has decided to implement that policy whenever they come to power. Since independence there has been a deliberate attempt by Akans particularly (Twi-Ashantes) and within their political establishments (from JB Danquah era and counting to take over Accra from Gadangmes and forcefully impose Akan dialect in the region and on us. With a political twist - this is gaining grounds. We are patiently waiting for you to come back to power to promote your Twi dialect agenda (Ashanti project) from where you stopped. Gadangmes wake up from your slumber and fight back this wicked and diabolic ploy-by hook, crook or book.

Akan (Twi) leaders such as-Kufour and Co don’t speak a word of GA though they’ve lived in Accra all their lives-yet they refuse to speak GA and this is what their current generation emulating. Kufour was busily meddling/influencing in the installation of previous Gamanste (Jo Blankson)-the outcome of this political theatre-your guess is as good as mine.

It is naturally prudent that any visitor who settles in a new environment learns the host language and quickly integrates. Every Ghanaian should at least speak one additional Ghanaian dialect to promote equality, diversity and respect. Our official language in Ghana is English. Our certificates are in English not Twi.It is unacceptable to speak Twi in official capacity in our ministries etc. Twi people are not law abiding and you better be.

Gadangme Youth-language petition to Govt: We expect every government including the current government to ensure Gadangme language is promoted in Greater Accra. This means made compulsory from Nursery to JSS. At our Senior Secondary this can be optional. Scale back Akan broadcasting casting air time in the capital to 20%, Promote equal air time for other 9 agreed government sponsored dialects-20%. 100% English air time as this is our official lingual Franca. Adhere to broadcasting regulations to promote equality and diversity-too many Akan radio stations in Accra for our liking. We the Gadangmes will make this a political issue/campaign come 2016 elections and beyond. Ignore this simple petition and risk losing Gadangme votes.

The independent broadcasting regulator in Ghana should write to all media houses in Greater Accra particularly Akan radio stations to scale back Akan air time; otherwise, we the indigenes will advise ourselves.

Accra is not a Twi speaking region and non-native to the region must respect our culture. I don’t care if it is globalisation, urbanisation etc, etc- you must respect our language/culture. If our Akans brothers/sisters don’t want to learn and speak our language while you cohabitate with us-it is in your interest to relocate to your native regions.

We need a legislation in Ghana to promote equality and diversity in all public space i.e. public/private sector in Ghana. There are too many Akan actives in our public arenas-every tribe needs inclusion. This is our problem in Africa-gradually this trend will trigger a civil war/unrest- a common feature in African politics. Any tribe that considers itself dominant and impose its will on the rest-the response has not been pleasant-a (back clash).

Any reason-why majority of Akan (Twi) people in Accra don’t speak the host language –though you’ve lived in Accra all your lives? If this is not pure arrogance what is it? With the current generation of Gadangmes, you have an axe to grind with us. Even Akan (Twi) men married to Gadangmae women and reside in Accra speaks Twi to their wives-pure arrogance. Respect your spouses and learn each other’s dialect.

We listen to Akan music and speak the dialect to celebrate all cultures in Ghana; and if this seems to you an opportunity to frown/reject other cultures while you cohabitate with them-we shall advise ourselves. I’ve been to several occasions in Accra when Twi people present request the officiating person to speak in Twi-“kan twi” -this is disgusting and make me sick to the core. Who informed you everyone speaks Twi? This’s a just case for ignorance/arrogance/disrespectfulness etc.

Would you tolerate this in your Akan areas/space? No. Why Accra? You don’t respect us? That’s fine. No problems - You are threading on dangerous grounds. Just to let you know- Accra is sitting on a time bomb.

For you Akans (Twi) speaking people in influential positions in Greater Accra-excepting we Gas to speak (Twi) at work in other to be in your good books; you are in for a surprise-the clock is ticking. Speak Twi in Greater Accra to be in your good books-for what. We lease/rent our lands to you to establish your business only to employ your kinsmen-we are watching and waiting.

This means you can’t produce/promote your music, literature; cultural troupes etc thus, making your unemployment situation/financial predicaments worse. Today in Greater Accra, radio, TV adverts are in Twi. What does this mean to you- no jobs for you and jobs for Twi people? You host the capital and you need to reap its benefit. Yes! Accra is our national capital; but it belongs to us not even government of Ghana .Kill this Twi thing in Greater Accra and bin it. Henceforth, any Twi person who speaks to you in Twi in Accra respond in Gadangme and if they say they don’t understand tell them they better learn. Accra is not a TWI region. Take control of the capital my people. You are losing out-wake up and “shine your eyes”.

Considering making Twi by the Ashanstes as a national language will be the greatest ever mistake/decision you will make in your entire history. Bring it on. Every Ghanaian is proud of his/her history/culture. We are not Twi people and will never be one-why your worry. Henceforth I advise the rest of Ghanaians to nib this Twi debacle/albatross around our neck by adopting BROKEN ENGLISH and English as a medium of communication. Everyone should speak their local dialect where it is needed.

Radical approach to tackle decline of GAdangme language in Accra

? All Gadangme institutions home/abroad must stop talking and act. Stop the niceties and act. Treat these albatross around our neck/acute issues aggressively and not with soft gloves if we want to yield any positive results regarding our concern. We must not care if this is seen/taken as Tribalism-this will not be tolerated anywhere in the world. We have every right to demand these.
? Need for Gadangme youth to demonstrate across the principal streets in the region-particular Makola market area in Accra against decline of our language and sale of our lands. Placards should read keep Accra GA and stop sale of GA lands by our chiefs.
? Need to establish Gadangme land management institution to retrieve and manage all lands in the region. Our generation need land to expand.
? Demonstrate and warn all Akan radio stations in the region to scale back their broadcasting activities in the region or risk setting them ablaze. After all, we’ve complained about this since and no action taken-time to act.
? No journalist has the prerogative to interview you in Akan in Accra and if anything at all it should be in Ga. If this happens tell them off.
? If any Twi person anywhere in the world asks you why you are a Ghanaian and does not speak Twi-tell him/her off.
? No Twi person has the wright to ask any Ghanaian that question. The part of Ghana that belongs to them is their regions.
? I believe they are unaware that their behaviour gradually is breeding grounds for civil war. I’ll advice them to pause, take stock of their dispositions’, rethink their actions and learn from other neighbouring countries.
? We will make this a campaign issue if Governments does not ensure fair broadcasting regulations/activities-Accra is not a Twi region.
? Warn their commerce persons at (Makola market) who have pushed you out of business and also imposing their language TWi on us to sit up. We will soon take the market from them.

? Gadangme language must be made compulsory in all schools from-Kindergarten to JSS.
? Warn our Gadangme leaders if they do not tackle these pressing issues head on-then they are in for big surprise and posterity will not forgive them.
? If our Akan brothers/sisters cannot speak GA in our region, they can go back to their villages-we will only communicate in Twi when we are in their back yard and not in Accra-Keep ACCRA GA. You cannot migrate from your villages into the city and impose your way of life on us -this is unaccepted anywhere in the world. They even speak Twi when speaking English. No English person borrows other vocabularies from other languages to make his/her point when speaking. Ghanaians do not need Twi to do anything. English is our official language and keep it so. This was adopted after independence to prevent tribalism and we must keep it so to promote social harmony.

Pressing Gadangme Issues

? Need to resolve all chieftaincy crises within the Gadangme traditional area as this is not helping our course –please demonstrate leadership. The inept aptitude coupled with your inactions is the products our problems.
? It is imperative Gadangmes must ensure all political parties in greater Accra have 90% of Gadangmes in any political endeavours in the region.
? Need to ensure we have proportional representation in all public/private sectors business-we host the capital and we must benefit from this.
? Currently, non-natives of the region particularly (Twi) people are scrambling for every leadership positions in Greater Accra- some of which by default must be represented by us e.g. our parliamentarians-we must fight back and we will fight back.
? Please allow us to reap the benefit of hosting the capital- you cannot snatch every opportunity from us simply because Accra is our capital.
? Accra has indigenes and they deserve respect/survival. I don’t care what ever logic you Akan (Twi) people deduct from this. If you want to be an MP return to your native region and contest. It is ethically wrong to have your natives’ represented in parliament then compete with Gadangmes in Greater Accra environs- this is unfair.
? Gadangmes in the diaspora and at home must petition government to ensure 90% of Greater Accra parliamentarians are indigenes. Non-native should contest seats in their native home and not in Greater Accra-the current trend must change. All political parties must respect this. Greater Accra region is for the natives and it’s their constitutional rights to be represented by them and not non-natives’ I don’t care whatever logic you deduct from this.
? The only consideration- is to (allow) 1-10% of parliamentary seats to other minorities who consider themselves as Ghana nationals reasons being constitutional and reside in Greater Accra.

Land
? Chiefs and elders of our traditional areas stop the sale of Gadangme lands. Discontinue this practice and prevent selling us into slavery. This practice means our future generation (land owners) are going to rent accommodation from non-natives.
? Encourage you children to embark on big business ventures/activities to those you lease/sell land -after all you can do the same. Be the driver and stop being a passenger.
? The Gadangme steadfast movement must be revived to manage/retrieved all sold/rented/leased lands for the next generation.
? The practice of selling tracts of Gadangme lands to build estate accommodation only to import non-natives to Accra must stop. Traditional leaders must reserve these lands for the future generation to expand. We cannot continue to confine to the coastal belt only.

? Ga mei! Stop selling lands meant for the future generation-these same people you sell the lands to turn round and insult you as lazy and foolish people- stop this disgraceful act. The land belongs to the future generation waiting to uphold the Gadangme culture not the ones obliterating you from the national profiling. Stop being selfish, scale back your parochial interest and put your peoples’ interest first.
? As I write, Gadangme lands in the Dangme areas are being advertised on the media and sold as if it is a piece of wax print by non -natives to the region. This is disgraceful/ unwholesome/distasteful by our leaders.
? Gadangme leaders listen to our plea and cry and stop making money through easy means. Learn how to use your initiative to succeed rather than this easy path of land sales -we will soon come after you.
? Today in Accra Akan (Twi) people sell Gadangme lands to GA people-this is a big disgrace to Gadangme people.
? Akan people (Twi) stop invading us in Accra. If Accra is the capital does not mean you should all move to Accra and push us into the sea. Our children also need space to expand and prosper. Learn to stay in your region and develop it with all your pride. Leaders of greater Accra wake up.

Language
? Encourage your wards to speak their language at all times, listen to Gadangme radio stations-if we don’t do this then we cannot stress others to do likewise.
? All non-native must learn and speak our language while they co-habitat with us; they cannot coerce us to speak theirs-this is unacceptable and never practice anywhere. If you have no intention of respecting our culture you can relate to your to native regions.
? We the Gadangmes of Greater Accra are very unhappy about this- we will fight back- this is arrogance and complete disrespect to our language.
? Akan (Twi) people living in Accra are not under any compulsion to speak GA but what we the natives require of them is to do the obvious. If you go to Rome you do what Romans do. No Akan speaking person is under an obligation to speak Ga but should also know they have absolutely no right to impose your language on the Gas in our region. If you can’t respect our language/culture while co- exists with us –relocate to your native region. You sometimes make me sick.
? When we the Gadangme people raise issues concerning our region/culture, the response we get from our Akan brothers/sisters is to lambaste us saying Accra is the capital city of Ghana and if we think we can no longer host the capital we should do the obvious. Get these into your skull-greater Accra region is for Gadangmes people and you have no wright what so ever to impede any grievances we raise. Accra being the national capital does not mean you should abandon your native homes and settle there. At Least in Nigeria everyone speaks broken English and confined their local dialects to where it’s needed-as a case of modernisation and urbanisation

You are too arrogant and disrespectful to other tribes and you need to put a stop to this primitive ignorance of an attitude of trying to look better than others especially the Ashantes .In any sphere of the Ghanaian social life, the Akan man (Twi) want to Lead/dominate. From the film industry, beauty pageants, news reading, sports name them-but the honest truth is that you nothing else than a mediocrity (wanabe) or copy cats skills. Tell me what significant impact has the so called Akan(Twi) made in Ghana apart from being tribal, corrupt and accelerate moral decadence in the country. In fact, you are the albatross around the neck of Ghana preventing it from taking a giant leap in developments.
? As you can see, we the Gadangmes are unhappy about some of your attitudes in Accra and we are beginning to pull off the plugs by halting any further uncultured dispositions of yours.
? You meet anyone in the street of Accra and you begin to communicate in Twi-this is gross disrespect. Your established radio stations in Accra only broadcast in Twi language-thanks to the democracy you are abusing, you interview people on television and radio and you expect them to speak Twi. I urge all peace loving Ghanaians to reject this uncultured behaviour by our Akan brothers.
? I also urge all Gadangmes people to campaign against all Akan hegemony practices being promoted by our Akan speaking brothers/sisters in our beloved region with alacrity.
? These are all our thoughts/grievances and our constitutional rights- like it or not we the Gadangme have the constitutional rights to ensure these are respected. Failure by any tribe to deprive us from realising our dreams just like other Ghanaian citizen will be met with the extreme force of resistance. We shall fight! We shall fight.
? If you so called Akan radio stations in Accra failed to change the current trend of broadcasting in Accra we will advise ourselves. Too many Akan broadcasting in Accra to for our liking. “Twi people” Accra is not a Twi region.
? You have every right to co-exist with us till thy kingdom come BUT do not and I repeat do not change our Language.

? Ghanaians don’t need any natural accelerating process of enhancing a particular tribe’s spoken dialect as a national language over the rest. We need a legislation to promote equality and diversity of all tribes-this will promote unity and to minimise the impact of civil unrest significantly.

? No Ghanaian president since independence has help our course rather aggravated them- because it benefits them-no wonder Accra is in the state it is.
? Achampong built Dansoman estate and imported his kinsmen from Ashanti region to occupy the area, Busia settled in south Odorkor (Sarkama) and invited his kinsmen to build in and around him.
? Kufour recently released land portion (green belt) around his residence to Trasaco contractors to build plush homes only to invite only his kinsmen to buy and live in around him.
? Today under the guise/pretext of real estate development Akans particularly (Ashanti & co) persuading/corrupting our traditional leaders to lease tract of lands in large quantity to build estates only to invite their kinsmen to purchase and occupy such accommodations-we are watching closely.
? We will soon react and I believe your response will not be that we are anti-Akan; whiles you don’t know your actions are rather anti Ga.
? If I may ask where in this world would this be tolerated? Would our Akan brothers/sister allowed this in their region? Accra is sitting on a time bomb.

Today Gadangmes no longer sell at Makola market, our lands sold out by our own leaders to non-natives at the highest bidder, lacks leadership particularly within our chieftaincy institutions, our language is near extinction -our future is in a balance-something is definitely not wright and needs to be fixed-URGENTLY.

Observations/Solution
? I urge all Gadangmes youth in every traditional area in Greater to form youth organisation to question/monitor their traditional leaders stewardship. They need to explain to us-why they sell Gadangme lands with impunity. Ask them if their forefathers sold every piece of land would they have inherited any? Warn them of the day of accountability/probity- when men will weep/wail and nash their teeth. You can’t sell our lands with impunity and go unpunished.
? They use proceeds from the sale of our land to solicit sexually services/appetite of young girls, multiply wives and concubines, cars, big parties and build mansions in their stomachs. This also means only their immediate family benefit at the expense of promoting social developments in their communities. We the Gadanme youth will soon come after you.
? What is the importance of land guards? Explain to the world why you engage the service of disguised armed robbers for multiply sales of lands-no wonder we are not accorded due respect we derseve.Our governments are so weak they cannot disband this criminal gang allowing them to act with impunity. Our leaders can’t handle basic issues and are so weak. Please act
? As for our educated Gadangme elites the least said about them the better both in politics and in private live. They are always passengers and not the driver-wake up and shine your eyes-and stop sitting on the fence unconcern. You lack motivation and initiative-show leadership. Wakeup up from your slumber and demonstrate leadership and take control of Greater Accra. The region is now in control of non-native this not wright and unaccepted. This will not happen in any Twi (Akan) Land.
? We need proportional representation of Gadangmes and all other tribes in Accra media houses, public/private sectors etc. There are too many Akans representations in these areas in Accra and this does not reflect the true nature of our country. This should change. Ghana is not for Akans-only.
? STOP AKNANISATION OF GT. ACCRA.THE REGION IS NOT A TWI REGION and I don’t care what logic you deduct from this.Gadangmes -WAKE UP.
? I urge all Gadamges youth to demonstrate/petition the president at his official residence against dominance/forceful imposition of Twi language in the capital by Twi Akan politicians. This is unacceptable and has a dare consequence. Continue to take us for granted-we will soon explode and the capital will not contain us.
? Today in Accra we have rural migrants into the city imposing their way of life on the advanced South-this’s not acceptable in anywhere in the world.
