Those of us who lived and suffered under Kwame Nkrumah's Dictatorship can easily reveal that NKRUMAH COULD NEVER MATCH MADIVA'S STATUS IN POLITICS, DECENCY, EDUCATION AND AFRICAN VALUES.

This same daughter of the Dictator Nkrumah gave an interview in the Ghana Embassy in Italy many years ago with the contents that I found to be in the greatest distaste to myself as a Ghanaian.

In that, she heaped lots of praises to the EGYPTIAN GOVERNMENTS for "funding the Education of the Nkrumah's children after his death".

What this unfortunate poor soul doesn't know was that her father sent to Egypt many of our resources, including the TWENTY FOUR GOLD BARS which wwas emanated from the various Commission of Enquiries that were attended by myself and very many Ghanaians at the time and revealed by his own Transport Minister, the late Krobo Edusei.

The differences between Madiba Nelson Mandela and Dictator Kwame Nkrumah was that, Madiba was fighting against APARTHEID in South Africa, whilst the Dictator was fighting to become the President of "United Africa".

People had thought he was a very visionary person. But who wouldn't ever think the same when the Colonialist had left us with a huge amount of RESOURCES???

Sadly, those Resources which NEVER grew even HALF OF A PERCENTAGE in our Ghanaian Economy were largely used to FUND other African Countries to obtain their INDEPENDENCE from the Colonial Masters at our expense while of course he made sure his Family's wellbeing had been well secured in Egypt.

To achieve his aim, Nkrumah Established DICTATORSHIP AT HOME AND TERRORISM ABROAD. He sent Hitmen to kill very large of our Opposition Members who had fled Ghana to various African Countries and Europe.

He also caused mayhem on other African Leaders who had opposed to his dream of "one Africa" under his Leadership.

Some of those Leaders were the late Taubman of Liberia, Houghbert Boigney(SP). of Ivory Coast, Emperror Haille Salasi of Ethiopia and many others.

After his overthrow, Ghana under the late Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia consulted with our Internatioanl Partners and arrived with the Agreement of adopting the "Chinese Syndrome of Talk and Fight" as far as South African Situation was concerned.

When Ghana made the most silliest mistake of overthrowing the Busia Administration, I finally set up a Base in New Zealand to deal with the old Rhodesian(now Zimbabwe)War Front and Negotiations with both the Churches and other Anti-Apartheid Groups.

I met with Madiba Nelson Mandela in 2003 in Dubai after he had been freed(Not on one to one Basis).

Someone may have to wonder why Ghana as a Nation that had been the first Black African Country to achieve Independence could be shunned by someone like Madiba Nelson Mandela, after his release from prison should make YOU understand the TRUTH IAM TALKING ABOUT.

The fact of the matter is, The Pan-AFRICANISTS HAD ASSURED DICTATOR NKRUMAH OF HIS WISHES OF BECOMING AN AFRICAN PRESIDENT IF HE SUPPORTED THEM.

There is just SO MUCH TO BE SAID ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

fellow Ghanaians, lets be more worried about the non transparency in our government, the bribery, extreme corruption, and government officials who act like God. very untouchable and you dare not criticize them. how easy is it to go to any government office to transact business without paying bribe? how easy is it for a 1st class student to apply for a job and be called for interview on merit? in all you have to go through some, yes whom you know. at the end the best brains get left behind. unlike the US and all the advance countries where most are seeking refuge, the value education and hard work. they scorn laziness and managers and superiors are very humble. they listen to the people. the poor boy that works very hard academically need not know someone before getting a job. all he need to do is apply and companies would be scrambling for him. yes there is a big problem in Ghana because every thing you do is 'whom you know' and when you go to kolebu hospital and the bathroom stinks so bad or the water is not flowing you dare not complain because you probably not get treatment. the attitude of I'm too big to be confronted, criticized or question and the shameless bribery in every aspect is retarding the economy and it seems people accept it as a norm. fellow Ghanaians let speak if not why are we spending so much to educate our children just for them to leave the shores because our leaders act very devilish

Mali at first glance seems a most unlikely place for the NATO powers, led by a neo-colonialist French government of Socialist President Francois Hollande (and quietly backed to the hilt by the Obama Administration), to launch what is being called by some a new Thirty Years’ War Against Terrorism.

Mali, with a population of some 12 million, and a landmass three and a half times the size of Germany, is a land-locked largely Saharan Desert country in the center of western Africa, bordered by Algeria to its north, Mauritania to its west, Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Niger to its southern part. People I know who have spent time there before the recent US-led efforts at destabilization called it one of the most peaceful and beautiful places on earth, the home of Timbuktu. Its people are some ninety percent Muslim of varying persuasions. It has a rural subsistence agriculture and adult illiteracy of nearly 50%. Yet this country is suddenly the center of a new global “war on terror.”

On January 20 Britain’s Prime Minister David Cameron announced his country’s curious resolve to dedicate itself to deal with “the terrorism threat” in Mali and north Africa. Cameron declared, “It will require a response that is about years, even decades, rather than months, and it requires a response that…has an absolutely iron resolve…” [1] Britain in its colonial heyday never had a stake in Mali. Until it won independence in 1960, Mali was a French colony.

On January 11, after more than a year of behind-the-scenes pressure on the neighboring Algeria to get them entangled in an invasion of its neighbor Mali, Hollande decided to make a direct French military intervention with US backing. His government launched air strikes in the rebel-held north of Mali against a fanatical Salafist band of jihadist cutthroats calling itself Al-Qaeda in the Islamic-Mahgreb (AQIM). The pretext for the seemingly swift French action was a military move by a tiny group of Islamic Jihadists of the Tuareg people, Asnar Dine, affiliated with the larger AQIM. On January 10 Asnar Dine – backed by other Islamist groups – attacked the southern town of Konna. That marked the first time since the Tuareg rebellion in early 2012 that Jihadist rebels moved out of traditional Tuareg territory in the northern desert to spread Islamic law to the south of Mali.

As French journalist Thierry Meyssan noted, French forces were remarkably well prepared: “The transitional President, Dioncounda Traore, declared a state of emergency and called to France for help. Paris intervened within hours to prevent the fall of the capital, Bamako. Far-sightedly, the Elysée had already pre-positioned in Mali troops from the 1st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (“the Colonials”) and the 13th Parachute Dragoon Regiment, helicopters from the COS (Special Operations Command), three Mirage 2000D’s, two Mirage F-1’s, three C135’s, a C130 Hercules and a C160 Transall.” [2] What a convenient coincidence.

By January 21 US Air Force transport planes began delivering hundreds of French elite soldiers and military equipment to Mali, ostensibly to roll back what we were told was an out-of-control terrorist advance south towards the Mali capital. [3] French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told media the number of its ‘boots on the ground’ in Mali had reached 2,000, adding that “around 4,000 troops will be mobilized for this operation,” in Mali and outside bases. [4]

But there are strong indications the French agenda in Mali is anything but humanitarian. In a France 5 TV interview, Le Drian carelessly admitted, “The goal is the total reconquest of Mali. We will not leave any pockets.” And President Francois Hollande said French troops would remain in the region long enough “to defeat terrorism.” The United States, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Germany and Denmark have all said they would support the French operation against Mali. [5]

Mali itself, like much of Africa is rich in raw materials. It has large reserves of gold, uranium and most recently, though western oil companies try to hide it, of oil, lots of oil. The French preferred to ignore Mali’s vast resources, keeping it a poor subsistence agriculture country. Under the deposed democratically-elected President Amadou Toumani Toure, for the first time the government initiated a systematic mapping of the vast wealth under its soil. According to Mamadou Igor Diarra, previous mining minister, Malian soil contains copper, uranium, phosphate, bauxite, gems and in particular, a large percentage of gold in addition to oil and gas. Thus, Mali is one of the countries in the world with the most raw materials. With its gold mining, the country is already one of the leading exploiters directly behind South Africa and Ghana. [6] Two thirds of France’s electricity is from nuclear power and sources of new uranium are essential. Presently, France draws significant uranium imports from neighboring Niger.

Now the picture gets a little complex.

According to usually reliable former US military experts with direct familiarity with the region, speaking on condition of anonymity, US and NATO Special Forces actually trained the same “terrorist” bands now justifying a neo-colonial US-backed invasion of Mali by France. The major question is why would Washington and Paris train the terrorists they are now acting to destroy in a “war on terror?” Were they really surprised at the lack of NATO loyalty from their trainees? And what is behind AFRICOM’s American-backed French takeover of Mali?

That is exactly the reason why you can't compare the two. In anything, Mandela appears to have a slight edge because he was able to fulfill his lifelong ambition of creating a united South Africa - and in doing so, he averted what could have been a terrible bloodbath in South Africa.

In the case of Nkrumah, his ambitions were cut short by the military takeover. In other words, as great as Nkrumah was, his relatively short tenure in office did not allow him to realize his desire to transform Africa into a model continent. Mandela, consequently had the advantage of time, which in essence gives him the edge by way of achievements.

Are you aware that,the colonial powers in the then Gold Coast,also put Nkrumah into prison during the fight for independence,and later released him to Form a government? Someone has to tell you that the independent of Ghana was not achieved on a silver platter.
It took several years of SELFLESS sponsorship notably by Paa Grant and SELFLESS struggle of political activist,later led by Kwame Nkrumah to achieved independence.
So it's not like the 15 minutes military takeovers,where the only task was to capture the Ghana Broadcasting News room to make
the unexpected announcement to the Nation.

If one has to come out at this particular time of mourning the loss of Mandela, to assert or push Nkrumah's greatness down our throats, then I'm afraid he was not greater than Mandela. Nkrumah died alone in exile, the world barely blinked at his passing. Compare that with Mandela, not even close.

Unlike Nkrumah, Mandela's greatness is spoken in superlative terms and not confined only Africa, but the whole world. You hypocrites are just envious someone else is stealing the spotlight. Mandela united a divided nation and left mankind a legacy of love, peace, forgiveness, freedom, selflessness and compassion. What greater legacy can one bestow humanity? An old man and woman were married for years, even though they hated each other. When they had a confrontation, screaming and yelling could be heard deep into the night. The old man would shout, "When I die, I will dig my way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life!"
Neighbors feared him. They believed he practiced black magic because of the many strange occurrences that took place in their neighborhood. The old man liked the fact he was feared.
To everyone's relief, he died of a heart attack when he was 68. His wife had a closed casket at the wake. After the burial, she went straight to the local bar and began to party as if there was no tomorrow.
Her neighbors, concerned for her safety, asked, "Aren't you afraid that he may indeed be able to dig his way up and out of the grave and come back and haunt you for the rest of your life?"
The wife put down her drink and said, "Let the old fart dig. I had him buried upside down.
