Just one person, who happens to be the sitting President's brother has a company, and this company takes a loan from a Ghanaian Bank, does not pay/does not want to pay, it becomes a bad debt to the bank. The bank wants to use legal means to recover the loan, a well known lawyer appeals to the president to intervene, he does, the bank is not able to recover, the bank is being sold/is sold to some company, now the president's brother is contracting another loan from a certain bank to pay off some of the loan he owes the Ghanaian bank. Some people do not see nothing wrong with this. Yet sometimes we read of some government officials comparing Ghana to the US and other western countries. The truth of the matter is that we have no sense of shame. Some of the leaders in Government do not care for the ordinary person on the street. Who do you think is to be blamed for the recent increases in utilities bill in the country? Fifi Kwetey was bold enough to tell the whole world that the government had to do what it had to do to stay in power. How many people in Ghana understand the meaning of this? We should remember that it is the duty of the foreign ambassadors accredited to Ghana to report such comments to their mother countries such reckless statements; to let the citizenry of those countries to be aware of such things happening in the country. And what do these countries do? They do not take us serious. Every year we look to some of these countries to give us money to balance our budget. For 55 years now we are still begging from other countries to help us. If that is the case let us all agree to mortgage the whole country to a western country for about 10 years, and let them show us how to govern a country like Ghana with so many human and natural resources. What a shame. Thanks for the space.

Mahama Ibrahim owes Merchant Bank about 38 million dollars without considering the inte- the rest.

They ' bought' the bank for 35 million which is less than what Mahama alone owed the Bank in debt.

The alleged 28 million being paid is just the same money Mahama borrowed from the bank.

Why didn't he pay the bank before the take over.

Use the bank's own borrowed money to buy it back.

So in essence they took the bank for free
