An agreement is an agreement. Ghana cannot act like it is not a trusted partner in bilateral or multilateral contracts. It is the responsibility of the government to plan ahead to meet the local demand for energy as the country population grows and industrial activities also expands.
This is a clear indication that politicians have been muddling with the decision of policy makers. We wouldn't have found ourselves in such a dilemma if we are able to separate politics from the work of principal secretaries and policy geeks.
Why haven't anybody brought the idea of large scale wind energy and solar energy projects in the northern half of the country. This could be another source of employment for the youth, resolve our high energy shortage and bring down the cost and spare the epidemic of pollution as a result of cutting down trees for charcoal burning.
