THIS COURT MUST COME OUT AND FULLY EXPLAIN ITS LOGIC AND THE LAW THAT GUIDED THIS DECISION.

THE NDC GOVERNMENT MUST APPEAL THIS RULING TO THE FULL BENCH OF THE COURT. A VERY BAD PRECEDENT IS BEING SET HERE AND A DANGEROUS ONE AT THAT. THE JUDICIARY IN GHANA IS REFLECTING (RIGHTLY OR WRONGLY)THE CORRUPTION CREDENTIALS OF THE COUNTRY. PUBLIC LANDS MUST REMAIN PUBLIC NO MATTER WHAT. Although the road to success is crooked but we will succeed even Heaven knows that, if it took Alexander the great at age of 35 years to conquered the world why can't we build our nation? We can my my brother believe even Heaven knows that we can, but it's really sad to see our politicians and our leaders failing, so we young generation should also follow their foot steps that lead to hell?

The Supreme Court did not adjudicate as a Constitutional Court but as an Appellate Court on this matter and ruled on the basis that a binding contract had been established by the sale. It did not concern itself with the propriety of the State to dispose of state land. And it could not decide otherwise because prominent members of the judiciary had themselves been beneficiaries.

That is corruption and incompetence all rolled into one. Is it any wonder we have stagnated as a nation post Nkrumah?

This public acquisition converted to private acquisition is a very dangerous precedence and should not be accepted by Ghanaians. What is for public should be returned to the public. Otherwise it should be returned to the land owners.
There are some contracts which should not be accepted. Particularly in this case where the people buying the properties are supposed to guard public properties in the interest of the public. They are taking undue advantage and hiding behind the issue of binding contract. We should take it that they have made a mistake and once it is not a lost of life it can be corrected. Otherwise it amounts to misuse of power if they insist we have to let them go away with it. People lost their lives for the accusation that they used their position to acquire bank loan. Why then should we encourage people to misuse their power in this instant at the expense of the whole Ghanaian public. Their action is denying others and future generations from enjoying the benefits, which they and their parents have enjoyed. As a result there are no accommodations for many civil servants on transfer. Hence this selfishness and greediness should not be given a nod at all.
The situation is very serious because it will make future acquisitions difficult. Who knows the next public acquisition is not a deception by some politicians who have an interest in that parcel of land. If this is not reverted it will not be long before public parks and gardens will become private properties. Furthermore it won't be surprise that the area between Osu Castle and Independence Square one day becomes a private property.

For now we are all bound as a nation by any decision of the Supreme Court of the land. Talking about Jake's house decision by the Supreme Court is a pure waste of time. That is why nobody is talking about the Election Petition any longer. The Supreme Court has decided; whether we like the decision or not is a matter for history. Try rather getting one member for CPP in parliament and that will be a worthwhile achievement. Or also try employing some university unemployed graduates in your chamber to reduce unemployment. The supreme court members have themselves acquired or being given government property for their personal use, using similar techniques. The ruling did not surprise me. Ministers of state, parliamentarians and just about anybody who has the power to do so has acquired government property for their personal use. This happened under both the Rawlings and Kuffour administrations. This greed has no partisan hue. Each one for himself or herself, and who cares about the country and the common citizenry? What is missing here is the love of country, and respect for the citizens who voted them into power.

I weep for my country Ghana!
