.............It seems the NDC gov't is running against time to send Ghana into the pits and it is extremely worrying, very, very worrying that, such a magnitude of ineptness, incompetence, recklessness and corruption can be brought to bear on our governance structures in such a crass manner. This Fortiz/Merchant bank deal deal from all indications is putrid, it stinks to the high heavens and nothing can justify such an atrocious deal, when Ghanaian taxpayers, from all indications are not getting any VALUE FOR MONEY in this stinking deal. Omane Boamah, MD should seek to explain why an equity firm which cannot even boast of the asset base to even acquire a non-financial banking license, should be made to take on this onerous task of not even a merger, but a full complete acquisition of Merchant bank, when Ghanaian taxpayers, have been offered far, far better VALUE FOR MONEY propositions from identifiable bodies with a portfolio of assets eclipsing over 100 billion dollars? It is indeed mindboggling the level of impunity and recklessness which has been unleashed on the affairs on governance by this NDC gov't. Ghana indeed deserves better than this recklessness which is permeating all facets of governance in this country. It's awfully pathetic.

Speaker probes NDC MP?

Barring any last minute string pulling by the Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho, will in the coming weeks start investigations into the circumstances under which the MP served jail terms in Belgium before entering the coveted legislative house.

The speaker would be acting on a petition sent him by the Concerned Youth of Adentan. In the petition, the concerned youth prayed the Speaker to use his good office to investigate the MP on a number of issues hanging like an albatross around his neck.

The petition read in part that: “We write to call on your good office to as a matter of urgency investigate certain misconducts and unresolved issues about the Member of Parliament of the Adentan Constituency. On the 9th day of September 2013, we the concerned citizens of Adenta addressed the press at which a number of unresolved issues have been raised against the MP.

As a Member of Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, we deemed it fit to bring this to your attention for prompt address before things get out of hand”.

The same petition, dated 15 September, this year, and signed by Alhaji Asumah Zaid Issah, was also copied to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the Chief of Staff, as well as the National Security Coordinator to further investigate the MP for Adentan Constituency.

The accusations range from stabbing a colleague whilst at Nungua Senior Secondary school, Child trafficking which landed him in a jail term in Belgium, planning against the validation of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), amongst others.

I Was Jailed In Belgium - Adenta MP

It would be recalled that Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, admitted in a radio interview that he was jailed in Belgium for Child trafficking.

His incarceration some years ago remained rumour until he was pushed to spill the beans by a group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Adenta.

Speaking recently on Radio Gold, an Accra based radio station, the MP recalled that, but for the intervention of the Queen of Belgium who graciously pruned his sentence to eight months, he would have spent three years in jail for child trafficking.

The MP explained that the country caged him for not acquiring the right documentation on some two children who according to him, were his sister' children, before taking them abroad. The interview by Ashie Moore was akin to someone who was confessing before receiving the Holy Communion in church as he corroborated virtually all the allegations the group made against him.

When asked about the tension between him and the former Adenta Municipal Chief Executive, Kakra Vanlare relative to her rejection at an Assembly vote as MCE nominee, the MP noted that, she (Kakra Vanlare) vowed not to help him during the 2012 campaign, adding that those who helped him in the 2012 general elections were rather to be rewarded.

He again confirmed the long-held rumour that indeed he and the former MCE were in a relationship until it turned sour. He recalled with nostalgia how the MCE threw him out of her house when he went to request for their differences to be settled and forge ahead for the betterment of their party.

The MP further admitted that he was once known as Justice Nana Kofi Owusu but explained that it was his mother who suggested he changed his name to Emmanuel Ashie before leaving the shores of Ghana and not because he had any past criminal records.

He stunned his listeners when he openly admitted that during his secondary school days at Nungua Secondary, he inadvertently stabbed a school mate during a quarrel and explained that, he held a can tin to protect himself which eventually cut his colleague in the ensuing scuffle. He however dispelled the notion that the young man died as a result and even went ahead to mention his name.

The MP was however surprised the leaders of the Concerned Citizens could not approach him and ask for his reasons rather chose to go to the media given that they are all members of the National Democratic Congress.

Mrs. Vanlare could not garner the mandatory two-third majority of votes cast to have granted her the mandate; a situation the concerned youth believe was masterminded by Ashie Moore.

After the clarification by the MP, the best thing that a proper and well qualified journalist should have done was to simply retract the story and offer an apology. Not do another story without a head or tail.

Child trafficking which is a serious crime to humanity should not be treated with kid gloves. Therefore, I find strange when fools like you support someone find by the court to be child trafficker…

There must be proper inquiry into particularly the child trafficking and conviction allegations confronting this MP by a senior judge. Its shocking for Kwame one of your critics to think he the MP clarifying by admitting and defending himself on radio justifies close of case regarding such a heinous crime. Thanks for your good job.

I am a concerned resident of Adentan who cannot understand why and how Ashie Moore won the NDC primaries and subsequently went on to "win" the 2012 elections as MP for the area. What are this man's credentials? How many appointments did he receive from the late Prez Atta-Mills and for how many was he fired ? Has anyone in authority set the wheels in motion to investigate his own admission that he was found guilty and incarcerated in Belgium for child trafficking? Have any of the many unpleasant allegations against him including his assault of a contractors a few months ago been investigated? Are the NDC members in Adentan saying Ashie Moore is the best person they could put forward to represent the good people of Adentan? Mr Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan Accra, Jan. 5, GNA- Mr Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, Member of Parliament (MP) for Adentan, on Sunday hosted a stakeholders meeting, which aimed at fast tracking development in the constituency.
The maiden meeting provided the platform for the MP to inform his constituents about his achievements during his first year in office, as well as his vision for the constituency.

Mr Moore said he had facilitated the delivery of 20 buses to the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union to pay by hire purchase.

?I have been able to renovate some schools, as well as donating street lights to some communities within the constituency?, he added.

The MP said he has registered 2000 kids, under 17 years, for the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Mr Moore prominent among the projects he is targeting for 2014 is solution to the water crisis in the constituency.

?This year, Adenta will be receiving 40 million gallons of water, each and every blessed day.?

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he revealed that the gathering was also aimed at fostering unity among constituents, which serves as a major factor for development.

He said there would be a meeting in every three months, to brief constituents on issues concerning development.

Member of Parliament for Adenta, Emmanuel Ashie Moore, has donated food items to Moslem communities in Ashaley Botwe which is within in the Adentan Municipality as they prepare to wind up their month long fasting.

The items worth several Cedis include bags of rice, cooking oil, Indomie noodles, bags of mineral waters and sugar.

Hon. Ashie Moore stated that his kind gesture to the Moslems is in appreciation of their spiritual service they render to the country during their fasting period as they intercede through prayer for the peace and development of Ghana.

He said he’s been doing this for the past two years even before he became the MP for the area and committed to sustaining this gesture for the years to come.

The beneficiaries who were very excited about the items presented expressed their gratitude to the MP and promised to give him all the support to make his tenure successful.

He advised the Zongo youth not to allow themselves to be used by unscrupulous persons, but rather channel their energies to building their communities and the country as a whole.
