This Fortiz/Merchant bank deal deal from all indications is putrid, it stinks to the high heavens and nothing can justify such an atrocious deal, when Ghanaian taxpayers, from all indications are not getting any VALUE FOR MONEY in this stinking deal. Omane Boamah, MD should seek to explain why an equity firm which cannot even boast of the asset base to even acquire a non-financial banking license, should be made to take on this onerous task of not even a merger, but a full complete acquisition of Merchant bank, when Ghanaian taxpayers, have been offered far, far better VALUE FOR MONEY propositions from identifiable bodies with a portfolio of assets eclipsing over 100 billion dollars? It is indeed mindboggling the level of impunity and recklessness which has been unleashed on the affairs on governance by this NDC gov't. Ghana indeed deserves better than this recklessness which is permeating all facets of governance in this country. It's awfully pathetic.

Having spent most of my adult life in advanced western democratic countries, it is fair to say, with all the facts available, that some the current Ghanaian MPs are just incompetent, ignorant and behaving like empty barrels! They are not fit to hold the office as Parliamentarians, and in short are not fit for purpose!!

After all, charity begins at home, the common adage! If they as MPs cannot follow simple rules and regulations, process and procedure within the House working framework, how do they expect we ordinary Ghanaians to obey the laws of the country?

Ghanaians are very intelligent, clever and hardworking people however, our attitudes, behaviours and total commitments to a national causes are one of the major obstacles to our socio-economic development. A one country, we need more than moral revolution to transform our country. I know we can do it if we change our backward mindset.

He was the Maj. Leader,when Begyina Sekyi-Hughes strippred the official residence of the Speaker bare,taking anything and everything including soap dishes,china & cutlery,area rugs,you name it! Even though he offered to pay restitution for all these items illegally removed from the premises, did he actually pay a pesewa? I do not believe anyone would be too far off the mark if tey suggested Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu was complicit in that shameful conduct!

The issue in contention which Ghanaians want the august house to unravel is the impropriety of the sale of merchant bank and all the controversies surrounding it, involving the Presidency.
The facts which have come to the fore indicates that, the Speaker shirked his responsibility, the Speaker abrogated his constitutional obligation to the masses by throwing out the motion. Ghanaians are saying that, the sale of merchant bank is fraudulent and they want the House to investigate the matter, which the constitution allows, and indeed, there are cases in court and again in parliament to support the motion brought into the house. The very sensitive nature of the matter demanded that, the Speaker did not act capriciously and his actions were not whimsical, by towing the line and position of the executive, in the light of the evidence available, which flouts all the laws in the book concerning the sale of the bank to Fortiz Equity Fund, with the Presidency being implicated in the matter. That is what Ghanaians want investigated to effectively provide the checks and balances and in the interest of the gov'ts own position of deepening transparency and accountability. The Speaker of the house erred egregiously by throwing out the motion and this bully pulpit attempt by the majority to reroute the conversation is manifestly unacceptable. Governance and we mean good governance as well as the transparency associated with it is being bastardized by the NDC gov't with it's majority in parliament and it doesn't bode well for Ghana in the context of the APRM, and also in advancing the socio-economic development of the nation when issues of corruption underpins the sale of assets such as merchant bank.
