Those calling for the Finance Minister's head know that it will hurt the ruling party during campaign. Look, gradually, people are begging to understand the politics being played in Ghana and how a policy that is not properly applied, will dampen the spirits of the voter.

It is misleading to say that countries are built from taxes. Our real problem is that we are pursuing the mirage of imperialist capitalist economics and this false notion that govt runs exclusively or mainly on taxes, is just one of such misconceptions.

We must understand that even if everybody in Ghana paid their due taxes, it would not amount to anything much that can relieve us of our problems and create meaningful development. Our lazy govts have depended on taxes because first of all their technocrats are victims of colonial education and taxing and over-taxing the people is the easy way out for them.

Unless and until there is a fundamental paradigm shift from the neo-colonial dependence on imperialist economic and trade arrangements, we will keep on going round in circles in the sphere of under-development whilst the so-called foreign investors make billions out of our misery.

For instance we must place high national premium on our mineral and natural resources to get the most out of it. If under the current arrangements we for instance get only 12.5% from from our current oil revenues, amounting to a mere 1/2 a billion dollars or so a year, whilst a foreign exploiter makes several billions each year out of it, we might as well keep the damned stuff in the damned ground. Our valuable gold, diamonds, timber, cocoa and what have you are all subject to these kinds of shameful demeaning agreements with foreign investors that were signed by dubious criminal politicians who in return gain peanuts under the table to exclusively make them comfortable for life. How did Rawlings for instance, pay for his children to live in and acquire middle-class education for children in Europe?

We are so resourced with mineral resources that if we had had decent and honest politicians, we could have by now reached the point of highest human development as was reached in Ghadafi's Libya where citizens dont have to pay for electricity, water education bills and any national taxes at all.

We have been so fucked up psychologically by imperialist and colonial brainwashing that we - both our govts and ourselves, continue to see the world upside down and inside out. And so long as it remains so, we shall continue to suffer for continuing to remain and being stupid niggers - as our foreign investors contemptuously and quite rightly refer to us.

Non of the existing political parties in Ghana seem to have the political acumen or the will to execute such bold measures. We will therefore keep on going round and round from one inept govt to the other and life will keep on getting progressively worse until God knows what will happen.

This is one item that I agree with Prez. Mahama about. The GIFMIS concept will be applauded by Ghanaians including NPP fans like me if it's not going to be one like many programs which are only good on paper but doesn't bring any progress.

If the John Mahama-led NDC govt. want to introduce new policies or programs toward managing our economy well, by eliminating corruption, that's a big plus esp. using IT as a conduit to manage affairs. That's what people like me, as many other Ghanaians are hoping to see. The economy isn't doing well; everybody is crying for economic relief right now so it's only good to have programs like GIFMIS introduced by govt. to make things right!

This is one small step towards the right direction. I also want to stress that members of opposition NPP are not out there just to criticize John Mahama for the sake of politics, as some NDC scouts want the world to believe. Everywhere one turn their ear to in Ghana, the saying that's in the air is: "Enko yie o, enko yie" with parents, workers everyone crying for help. So what does the NDC want us who want Ghana to be okay want to do; just to sit down and smile and say: "Oh, everything is just fine?"

They're saying that we don't want to help in the nation's development by refusing to offer concrete ideas etc. I'd like to ask: wasn't SADA and GYEEDA NPP's brainchild programs to alleviate the plight of the unemployed youth our Ghana; wasn't Nana and Bawumia's plan as was contained in their NPP manifesto? NDC should give Ghanaians a break!

GIFMIS seem to be a good idea, to help curb corruption esp. in govt. levels we all applaud that if it'll only work. Infact we'll continue to adopt it if we come into power if it proves to be effective as it's intended. Ghanaians should remember that NPP under ex-Prez. Kuffour is the only president who committed himself and his govt. to continue with unfinished national development projects/programs during his tenure as leader of Ghana. NPP is an open party and all well-meaning Ghanaians should endeavour to join hands with us to redeem Ghana from the prevailing hardships.

Yes, it is time to change many things in our economic system, but can we change is the question? Mr president be on course with the vision that you have together with your finance minister.

If you understand your finance minister is good then do not mind those calling for his exit, that is the evil minds. Most of the time those calling for his sack, can not in reality provide the needed solution to the economy.

Our economy needs shake up to bring it to a level required, and I think that is what the minister is doing but it seems they find it difficult to accept hence calling for his death in the finance ministry. Lest I forget, all the economies of the world today are in terrible situation.

I do not see Terkper as the problem of the economy. The main problem is there has been loop holes in the system for long and that had caused us all this woes, therefore if Terkper is trying to find ways to close and balance things then I think there is a need to back him with intelligence, moral and any physical support to move the economy forward.

Finally those within the NDC who want our president to sack the minister should try to seat down together and come out with reasonable proofs and good reasons why they don not agree with him on his economical policies.

My worry is we all want the economy to be in good shape therefore coperation is what we need to make it work, not backbiting of the African primitive mentality which had caused our downfall today.

The introduction of Ghana Integrated Management Information System will cripple them hence the wagging war to sack him. Be wise and keep him. Borrowing and borrowing will only cripple you as President. I said it right from the onset that this president will fail the nation. The whole country is falling apart. You hear about problem here, problem there everyday, and today though he doesn't know if he has to let his finance minister go or stay.

Mr. Mahama, you are a disgrace to the office you are currently occupying. You do not exude the maturity of a seasoned politician. How can you show such immaturity telling the whole world a private and official discussion you had with the Managing Director of the Number ONE leading bank in Ghana and probably the oldest one too, Secondly, you do not tell nor discuss any information or advice you receive about your cabinet Minister. You should know by now that because of the office you are occupying, you are privileged to all your personal information, as such, you were under no pressure to share the privileged information with anybody, let alone the whole world, but you did. Why?
Mr. Mahama, such little missteps make you look immature and not Presidential material.
My unsolicited advice to you is that, you have to comport yourself in a dignified and more appropriately, especially, information you communicate to outside world goes a long way and speaks a lot about you.
With such communication, it gives people the grounds to form their candid opinion about you. It could be favorable or unfavorable
