Who says we don't believe JDM? We do, my good friend. The ones we don't believe are those who are constantly shouting into our EARS that nothing is happening, when in fact our EYES tell us about the good things that are going on all around us. If you want to know who the real "good old crooks" are, look straight into the eyes of Kofi Jumah and his bunch of noisemakers and you will see them one by one.
I am surprised he and those other NPP thieves still has the audacity to criticize the NDC and President Mahama! Of course, they have managed to monopolize the media so they think all Ghanaians are like you (Rastafarai) who believe the people that shout loudest!
Listen, many many Ghanaians believe John Mahama as a genuine leader who will deliver a better Ghana in the long run. The louder the NPP crooks shout against Mahama, the more determined Ghanaians are to help him suceed.
If there are any "make-believe" group of people in Ghanaian politics, it is the NPP. They made us believe in 2000 that there are in power on behalf of the people of Ghana. They said all kinds of things, including the lie that they are so rich that they are not in politics for money. Before they left office, we discovered that their 8 years in office was actually a tragic film that starred thieves and crooks who stole everything that fell into their hands - Ghana Airways, Vodafone, Accra prime lands in Cantonments and other areas, the drill ship, and government bungalows.
If the NPP thinks Ghanaians have forgotten all this after only 5 years and so they can start their deception again like they did in 2000, they are sadly mistaken and they demonstrated that by voting for John Mahama who campaigned only for 3 months!
Ghanaians of today have learned to trust their eyes more than their ears because what the NPP told our ears in 2000 is not what our eyes saw by the end of 2008!!! Take not, Rastafarai my brother!!!

do believe John Mahama's i-do-not-know-anything attitude about his brother and the merchant bank?
Do you believe the media reports yesterday that Ibrahim has repaid the debt? and that could only happen after the bank had new owners? I am not NPP but my heart bleeds for ghana...I remember as a young undergrad interrupting our studies many times to fight (aluta) the government for " corrupt" practices. Ironically, some of those who demonstrated with me in the 70s and 80s are the ones perpetuating the corruption in government today. Those 70s corrupt practices pale in comparison with the magnitude and scale of corruption in Ghana today...Rawlings killed Amedome for supposedly a bank loan he Amedome used his position as a senior military officer to secure...That loan was in a few thousands of cedis...Why is Woyome walking around a free man with an AG and a president with no political will to get to the bottom of this case?..we are talking about $51M..its not chicken change even by US standard....Why could Ibrahim Mahama owe what was a state-owned bank that much money and even threaten its collapse? Could the average Joe owe a state-owned institution and walk around free? I do not believe JM, am sorry you do but it your prerogative...Corruption cannot not be tolerated, it has to be exposed and condemned..whether it is by NPP or NDC..Do not let the politics color your perception, my friend...

I salute you, Rastafarai, and I do so from deep down. And it is because I have a feeling that unlike many Ghanaians out there who throw themselves into the fray of political arguments just because they belong to one side or the other, you are truly concerned about Ghana.
Let me tell you one or two things that you may not have thought about: You see, Ghanaian politicians are more concerned about how to manoevre their way to power than how to solve the fundamental problems facing the country. Because the bottom line for them is to win power, they are not interested in finding out what keeps us marking time as a nation, so all they do is engage in the old blame game as to who's bad.
Now think about this: Did you know that Ibrahim Mahama is a half brother (paternal) of the president? Did you know that Ibrahim’s MOTHER is a known leading member of the NPP? Did you know that Ibrahim took the loan under the NPP , way back in 2005? Ask yourself this question then: who was more likely to have influenced the bank to give out the loan to Ibrahim Mahama - the Mum or the Brother?
Again, did you know that Appiah Menka and Darko Farms also owe Merchant Bank to the tune of millions of dollars for which they have also defaulted? Why have the media houses that made headlines of Ibrahim's case refused to mention their names? Even the controversy about the sale of Merchant Bank, don’t you wonder whether some invisible hand was also pulling strings in order not to let Bank change hands so that the debts they owe could hang for as long as it takes? You heard recently that the new owners say they would “vigorously pursue” debtors to retrieve all monies owed the bank. You know what that means to those other defaulters who had enjoyed the payment “lull" until this time? Put two and two together, my brother! Finally, looking at the flip side, don’t you think that it paints a favourable picture of ”non-impunity” that the president’s brother has finally paid the debt he owed Merchant Bank ?
I don’t want to talk about the execution of so-called corrupt people by Rawlings because history has already judged them as painfully unnecessary. But I can talk about Woyome. You see, for a case that is still in court, I still wonder what Ghanaians expect John Mahama to do to Woyome. If you say the President "has no political will to get to the bottom of the case" I don’t quite get you. You are probably insinuating that had the NPP not made enough noise about the case, Woyome could probably have gotten away with his booty. Fine, and that is why we need opposition in politics anyway!
Besides that, are we expecting the president to set aside the court proceedings and throw Woyome into some jail without trial? He said it the last time he met the press that if we were not operating a democracy, he could be doing things like that. But he is definitely restrained by the rule of law (and he is right, even if he is using this as an excuse!) After all, even if the president is incensed by the criminal actions of anybody and the person deserves legal punishment (be they from his own party or from the opposition), he still has to rely on the court to pronounce them guilty and prescribe the appropriate punishment. That is democracy!
You have been hearing Rawlings pontificating about corruption of late, haven’t you? It is all because for all those years that he superintended his dictatorship, all it took to bring corrupt people (perceived or real) was to pick a phone and call national security, and the person could be in the cooler for as long as he (Rawlings) wishes. Because of that he think he was more efficient at controlling corruption, but that arbitrariness is precisely what brings in your argument about Amedume and co! Is that what you are suggesting to John Mahama? The game has changed, my brother, and it is not the making of John Mahama that justice has to be slow in these corruption cases!
As for the rise in corruption itself (whether that is a perception or the reality), I support you 100% that we all need to fight to eradicate it because it is inimical to national progress. But, as a nation, we have to sit up and find out what breeds corruption and how we can stem it. I think Ghanaians are simply being hypocritical about tis canker. Our social disposition encourages corruption by expecting people in public service to take advantage of their positions! Why, haven’t we described relatives and friends as ‘fools” because they did not take advantage of their positions to steal from the national kitty? So why are we complaining when some people are doing just that?
As for the simplistic political view that corruption becomes rife ONLY when our political opponents are in power, that is just a political mentality that is not supported by logic. I think most politicians complain because it is not THEY who are in the position to loot. Their cry has nothing to do with the supreme interests of Ghana, it often has to do with their own livelihoods!!!

The law is ghana works only with political will...which one came first? the Woyome case or the 2012 election impasse?...Which which was more complicated and which one has been adjudicated? I read many times about judges frustration with AG's request for continuance and postponement of woyome case....it is all a game...even Amidu has gotten a ruling partially on this case because he had the will to move ahead with the limited information he had as private citizen..
It is very convenient for the president to say, we live in a democracy so there is nothing he can do.....please, that is nonsense...I live in the US which is also a democracy, it does not take that long to judge a fraud case. Why is his assets defrozen? Janet, it takes political will......
Mahama is taking ghana for a ride..have you heard of the term.."eye service?"...that is all he is doing? he is really not serious...it give credence to the charge that it is all a movie...
.Mark it on the wall...the truth will come out one day....I have been a long enough observer of ghanaian politics to know that... THE PRESIDENT DETERMINES THE PACE OF JUSTICE THROUGH HIS AG's/...I am sure you are well-educated enough to know that...if you do not agree , then you either part of the NDC propaganda machine or you are deeply too naive...John Mahama is fraud..Ibrahim Mahama is a fraud....Do you know Amidu alleged that but for Mills Amidu would have investigated him for some fraudulent aircraft deal?
....GHANA IS RIPE FOR A REVOLUTION ...and the THE WHOLE TRUTH will come out...

You surprise me! I am an NDC operator because I gave you another argument that makes as much sense to me as what you think your argument does to you? Then what shows you are not also a deep NPP operator? or I have to take YOUR stance as THE true scenario? Based on what? I could also choose to wash your arguments off as an agrieved NPP apologist who wants to force your own ideas down my throat!!
When I agreed with you on some of the points you made, did so on based on the tolerance we all have to demonstrate to one another's opinion, however different they are from ours. I did"t do so because I believed you are right or that your arguments are inherently sounder than mine! I am sorry you are also straying into the dangerous arena of straight-jacket political arguments: someone has to agree with you or they are NDC or this and that. I expect you to operate above that, especially when you were telling me NOT to view things through political colours. so why are YOU doing exactly what you are asking me not to do?
You can believe what you want, I have no problem with that. But never try to compel me to see things the way you do, because it wouldn't work - not only because your arguments don't sound sacrosanct, but also because nobody tells me what to believe.
As for that crap about "living in the US" and all that...please. There is no script that says you know (or should know) better than me because you live in the US! Where did you learn that .... I don't know whether to describe it as a "legal principle or "judicial convention" that "the President" determines the pace of justice? Where in Ghana did you here that the AG decided how long a case will take? There have been several cases where the judge has thrown out a case if he thinks it has delayed as a result of the prosecution's lack of preparedness. Who do you think you are talking to here? Some semi-literate at Kantamanto or Where?
I suspect you are an NPP propagandists, but I am amazed that you are not bold enough to admit that your real intentions here is to bully (or at least trick) people into buying your own brand of propaganda. Or else what works you up so much about what I said that makes you refer to "NDC propaganda machinery" and "naivety" and some "whole truth that is coming out? Aren't you getting too excited for just this little argument we are engaged in?
Anyway, Ghana is awash with ignoramuses, so you may get away with telling these stories to the politically uninitiated. But don't think that everybody will fall for your gimmicks on this forum that is probably aimed at winning sympathy for the NPP and stirring disdain for John Mahama and the NDC. That strategy doe not work with all people!!
If you were truly fighting for Ghana and not the NPP, you could never have skipped the fraud and corruption that went on during the rule of the NPP. You remember the sale of Ghana Airways and Vodafone and the Drill ship (have you accounted for how that money was disburesd?). Jake Obetsebi Lamptey had to go as far as to the supreme court just to grab a government bungalow. Have you conveniently forgotten all that?
All said, you may choose to stay in your corner, if you like, and I'll stay in mine. But this is a democratic platform and for as long as you say something that somebody does not agree with, expect them to react. And you don't have to be upset about it, unless you don't understand what democracy is all about!!!

3) You present new long essay ( in good english) but with little substance. You present only one point, NPP did worse so its ok..No its not ok..

Don't pretend, NPP apologist. You do care if the NPP did worse, because that tells you that there is more to political performance than names!!
But if you are not really interested about whether someone did better than the other, then stop talking politics start discussing fashion, because there is no comparison in that sphere, as "one man's festive clothes is another man's pyjamas"!
And, just get this straight: you arguments don't even scratch my conscience because they are not only illogical and ill-willed, but they are also motivated plainly by political mischief and there is nothing I hope gain from it.
You may gather your kids and tell them your stories of incitement, they are obliged to swallow them hook, line and sinker because they depend on you. From the way you talk, you don't inspire me one little bit, so think what you want to think and I will what I want to think too!
My problem with you is you sound like you are not versed in the legal systems of either the US or the UK or the Ghana and yet you talk with some air of authority that is very laughable. Who put that idea into your head that a sitting government "can delay justice ........ by intentionally presently a weak case...withholding material that would strengthen government case, not presenting strong witnesses, delaying when to present witness, ask for many postponement to frustrate judges...". Where did you get all that crap from?
I don't need to waste time lecturing you about how the legal system works in democracies because you are here not to learn but to foist your own puerile perceptions on other people. But if you care to know, judges are never "frustrated" by prosecutors simply because they are never party to any suit. If they think government is delaying a case without any justification, they would simply throw out the case in favour of the accused and leave the rest to public opinion.
And that brings us to your concern about waning public opinion on the Woyome case! For the propagandist that you clearly are, you are only interested in how to skew the public's sympathies to suit your own purpose (whatever that purpose is!). Is that why you are worried that the delay in Woyome's case will "allow public memory and interest to fade"?
You see, you expose your real intentions without knowing it! What business has public memory or interest got to do with a corruption case that is before a competent court that will eventually decide if a person is guilty or not. unless you are only interested influencing public opinion and thereby influence their vote, why do you argue as if public "memory or interest" is what will determine the outcome of the Woyome case and not the facts as are analyzed by the judge?
You are such a pity, and that is why I rubbish your reference to the democratic systems of the US and the UK? I realize you don't even understand how the justice systems work in these two countries, which you are so quick to refer to. Where in in the US do people pronounce suspects guilty (like you are doing) before the judgment? You are very guilty of prejudice, you! Any wonder why you are calling President Mahama a "fraud" in this case, even though no judge has declared Woyome guilty?
You don't even deserve precious my time for this diatribe. You are a fake patriot and a political payee just doing a hatchet job, so let me just leave you to carry out your assignment. All I can say is that if you are doing politics for the NPP, just be bold and say so. Don't pretend you are out there working in the interest of "Ghana", because you are not!!

The people who went about in the country esp. small towns and villages telling Ghanaians that Kuffour and his ministers were corrupt and would be jail when the NDC comes back to power are strategically milking the nation dry through fraudulent and dubious deals---over-inflated govt. contracts, judgement debt payments, sale of banks etc. and turn around to tell Ghanaians that everything is alright!
They [NDC] don't want anyone to complain or talk about it. The NDC believe they're smart; they're using all these dubious schemes to save up for their 2016 campaign, while they've blocked every available external sources for campaign financing for all other parties. Ghanaians should open their eyes and not get deceived by anyone. The NDC has to be voted out of power.
Now that they've been exposed in the 2012 election fraud, I wonder their next strategy to foist their will on Ghanaians in another election fraud. People must wake up and do the right thing---our nation is falling behind in her quest to see some improvement and development in its people.

Its sad and scary for Ghana that the president cannot be believed...I do not know any one in Ghana besides his wife and children who believes what he says..the definition and embodiment of an "apa man" or a good old crook.
Who says we don't believe JDM? We do, my good friend. The ones we don't believe are those who are constantly shouting into our EARS that nothing is happening, when in fact our EYES tell us about the good things that are going ...
