If the roads are good, it should not take even 3 hours to get to Kumasi from Accra.

I was thinking the same. Maybe the pilot forgot his packed lunch. Or didn't know the way to Kumasi?
Why would a plane which develops a fault when it had almost reached Kumasi fly all the way back to Accra? Is it the reporter's unprofesionalism or the pilot's?
There maybe better safety facilities in accra or maybe they may have to fly over more densely populated areas in kumasi. normally contingency plans are made for incidents like this
No, that is not an excuse. Depending on the size of a plane which in this case does not apply since the plane was flying to Kumasi, if the Journalist reported this incident correctly, there is no excuse the plane should have ...

perhaps they had a bad weather condition in Kumasi else i see no utility flying back to Accra with a faulty plane to land which couldn't have spared them the disaster, moreover much closer to kumasi than to Accra.

How sad for a minister of state to be saying this. FIX OUR ROADS .Are you not ashamed???????
If the plane could not land in Kumasi owing to mechanical fault, how could it land in Accra?
What would have happened to all the money they are busy stealing from the people instead of as resources to develop the country for a better name for themselves.
