Do you remember when people complained of hardship, you told them to eat Mango and Kokonte, not realizing that Kokonte is the traditional foo of some tribes in Ghana. Do you remember you were also involved in some fraudulent contracts.

What a hypocrite. This is a politician who came from a very poor background and succeeded because of the huge sacrifices his mother made to educate him, found himself in the UK 'hustling', then eventually came back to Ghana as a "politician". Sadly NOTHING he did as a politician reflected this rather sombre and passionate plea for us to focus on the POOR and ILLITERACY.

If anything, Asamoah boateng the politician carried himself about as if he was himself from a rich home and his extreme arrogance, penchant for explatives and rather crude insulting behaviour was there for all to see. He abadandoned his constituents to seek his own personal political and financial interests, becoming very lavish in his own spending.

Is Asabee just waking up to 'smell the coffee of poverty and illiteracy' in our country? I thought he was one of those who believed he was "self-made" and who believed everyone had to fight their way through life and not expect government or others to transform their lives!!! I thought his was borne out of his love for capitalism and the 'good life' as a mark of his own 'apparent success'.

The fact that his own constituents rejected him says it all,that this man has not learned anything. To me personally his statements run hollow and are downright hypocritical, however true what he is saying here is. I still recall his arrogance when he came to visit 'Ghanaian Diasporians' in London sometime in 2001 as "presidential spokesman". After keeping the crowd waiting for more than 3 hours to make his appearance and without the curtesy even to apologise, he started to throw his weight about, in front of some very well experienced and much older folks who were in the crowd and when they gently tried to point out to him his ignorance, he seemed to take offence and didn't much enjoy the attempts by some to remind him of his own familiarity with the crowd when people started to address him as "ASABEE".

If among your own peers you take objection to simple familiarity, how can you even feel for the poor? Some of us have consistently argued that what Ghana needs are selfless, serious, honest politicians of integrity to put our nation and all of our collective interests above anything partisan or otherwise and to work together for a 'better Ghana' (my own choice of words, not the governments so-called Better Ghana Agenda). I very much doubt if Asamoah Boateng truly understands what he is saying here himself because his life, attitude and stewardship do not bear any resemblance to anyone who truly has the poor and need "illiterates' of our system at heart.

I sincerely hope I am wrong and thathe has truly been 'converted', after all Saul saw the light and became Paul on the road to Damascus. Miracles do happen and might well do to Asabee but I very much doubt it. You can call me a skeptic if you will, but this is based on evidence of Boateng's own track record which is in the public domain.

He forgot to tell his readers that in Germany anyone who could not read the German Language is illiterate. How many of the so-called "educated'" Ghanaians can read and write their own language. As long as we read books written by foreigners in their language to "educate" our children, we cannot develop. .

Besides,even those so called educated Ghanaians,what do they do with that education,insults,by reading comments on Ghanaweb,you will know what i mean.Every second comment is an insult.
Education should be the key out of poverty,but education is expensive,and most Ghanaians don't want free education.
