Once a man was educated to University, he joined a corps of the elite with bungalows. I recall in our days ordinary Secondary school teachers were given cars right as they started teaching and enough income to pay it off, plus bungalows.

FARMING and Carpentry, electrician, and craftsman jobs were left for those who could not go beyond 9th grade. The production of processed foods like donuts, sweet-bad, was left to the total illiterate women, or at best those who went up to grade 6.

I have employed and fired a few University graduates in the last 6 months and I feel sad for our people. The skill level is so low even with people with 2nd Class Upper. How the heck can somebody tell me these will lead the country in the next 10-20 years? And surely they will be our future! People who cannot even read an employment contract when they are hired and simply rush to work with no ideas what is expected of them and when you demand a report seem like it means nothing! Of course that applies only to 80% of them not all.

Cover letters are even pasted from some school friends or teachers, with standard statements and no mention of the job they are applying for.

Western education having failed us, what will save Ghana will be the Messiah type – the type who creates something out of nothing! Original ideas and vision and if we are lucky, one with experience elsewhere who can compare and contrast and of a solid problems solving mind.

It is for this reason I could not blame President Mills or Mahama. Kufuor had an agenda and that was to be a King. Rawlings was merely an angry man whit no vision per se but simply a man who felt the need for change. If he was lucky to have found some well experienced gurus around him instead of the men who felt everybody was corrupt but them and hence it was their time to close down the businesses, sack the owners and distribute the goods so all would benefit, with “no thought or apprehension for the future” as Governor Lord Frederick Lugard observed in 1929, we would be far ahead. Instead Rawlings was surrounded by the hungry Legon Professors who were so impoverished, denied what they thought was their right to a share of the national pie as Lecturers during the 1970s economic down turn. And hence was the NDC era that reigns till today where a few at the top feel they should appoint everybody and taxes everybody whiles they get exemptions, and send on vehicles and housing and free petrol, etc. The president does not even pay taxes, and somebody correct me if I am wrong but MPs are exempt from duties and taxes when they order vehicles.

Please find a copy of the book by Profs. Acemoglu and Robinson, “Why Nations Fail”.

Osofo George will have all is questions about Ghana answered and will stop blaming Mahama since replacing him with anybody will not change so far as the people themselves remain dull and stupid as Prof. Geroge Ayittey would put it. The word stupid (Okwasea) is used for a person who allows his balls to be stepped on twice, if you remember the Akan proverb. If you have people spreading their cloth on the floor for DCEs and MPs and Ministers to step on when they cannot provide water for you to wash the cloth, and you cannot hold the man’s shirt collar because you are afraid of him, then .... Why do some of these NDC men talk so foolishly. The brother of the president owes Merchant Bank nearly 50% of the company's debt. And when the company that Nketia is trying hard to link with the NPP failed to pay, it was Atta Mills and Mahama that his brother (and the bank called). To date, no one knows the discussions from the meeting(s). Next moment, the Bank is on sale to the lowest bidder, presumably with the loans written off. Nketia wants the NPP to take blame for this one also?

JJ always rants about other people being corrupt. When the wife's jacuzzi issue came out in the late 80s, he blasted the head of PWD of coming out to confirm the fixing of the equipment after he JJ had lied to the whole world that no such thing had been purchased. One year, at Western, there were these two guys who were taking Chemistry and who did pretty well on all of the quizzes and the midterms and labs, etc., such that going into the final they had a solid A. These two friends were so confident going into the final that the weekend before finals week (even though the Chem final was on Monday), they decided to go over to Toronto and party with some friends there during the Vanier Cup weekend.
So they did this and had a great time.

However, with their partying and everything, they overslept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Western until early Monday morning. Rather than taking the final then, what they did was to find their Professor after the final and explain to him why they missed the final. They told him that they went up to Toronto for the weekend, and had planned to come back in time to study, but that they had a flat tire on the way back and didn't have a spare and couldn't get help for a long time and so were late getting back to campus.

The Professor thought this over and then agreed that they could make up the final on the following day. The two guys were elated and relieved. So, they studied that night and went in the next day at the time that the Prof had told them. He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet and told them to begin. They looked at the first problem, which was something simple about morality and solutions and was worth 5 points. "Cool" they thought, "this is going to be easy." They did that problem and then turned the page. They were unprepared, however, for what they saw on the next page.

(ii) THAT MY WACHOVIA BANK NOW WELFARGO BANK ACCOUNTS BOTH CHECKING AND SAVINGS ACCOUNTS IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA WAS ALSO ATTACKED AND THE CRIMINALS REMOVED ALL MONEYS FROM THE ACCOUNTS AND FRAUDULENTLY CLOSED SAME UNDER THE GUISE OF "USA BENEFITS".
(iii) THAT MY SUNTRUST BANK CHECKING ACCOUNT WAS ALSO ATTACKED AND THE CRIMINALS REMOVED ALL MONEYS FROM THE ACCOUNT AND FRAUDULENTLY CLOSED THE ACCOUNT.
THAT ONE "JUNE MASONING" PURPORTED WROTE A LETTER FROM ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO ME WHILE I WAS RESIDENT IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA THAT IF I HAD NOT CLOSED THE ACCOUNT BY MAY 17, 2012 HE OR THEY WOULD CLOSE THE ACCOUNT BY FORCE AND TRULY THE CRIMINALS CLOSED THE ACCOUNTS AFTER REMOVING ALL MONEYS FROM THE ACCOUNTS.
THAT THE BANKS AFTER I DULY REPORTED THE FRAUD TO THEM ALL THE BANKS DENIED REMOVING MONEYS FROM THE ACCOUNTS AND DID NEVER ALSO CLOSE MY ACCOUNTS. THAT THE BANKS DULY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS CRIMINALS WHO PERPETRATED THE CRIMINAL ACTS.
THAT THE BANKS SENT ME E-MAILS LETTERS TO THAT EFFECT ABOUT IDENTITY THIEVES STEALING MY MONEYS FROM THE ACCOUNTS THROUGH ONLINE BANKING, THERETO.
THAT THE BANKS DULY INTIMATED TO ME ALSO THAT THE CRIMINALS USED DIFFERENT "PASSWORDS" TO ENTER INTO MY ACCOUNTS, THERETO.
THAT I HAVE DULY REPORTED THESE RELATED CRIMINAL ACTS INCLUDING MY LETTERS/MAILS, PERSONAL PROPERTY, CREDITS CARDS/DEBIT CARDS OTHER MONEYS THE CRIMINALS STOLE FROM ME TO BOTH GOVERNMENTS OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND GHANA.
THAT EVEN MY WALLET CONTAINING MY GHANA SSNIT CARD, AMERICAN SOCIAL SECURITY CARD, MY VIRGINIA STATE PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD, THE MERCHANT BANK BENEFIT CARD AND PAST CREDITS CARDS INCLUDING MY AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND OTHERS WERE STOLEN DURING MY LATE BROTHER FRANK KOFI AMEKUDZI FUNERAL RITES AT KPEDZE IN THE VOLTA REGION OF GHANA.
THAT I HAVE DULY REPORTED THE MATTER TO KPEDZE POLICE AND I WAS GIVEN AN EXTRACT OF THE REPORT, THERETO.
THAT SSNIT PENSION LUMP SUM MONEY PAID TO ME WAS AN INSULT TO MY PERSONALITY AND I RESPECTFULLY INTEND TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION TO SEEK REDRESS.

ADJAHO discarded the petition brought to the parliament on the unfortunate sales of the merchant bank,without allowing the minority to present their cause and strong reason on their dislikeness or disagreement on the sales.
ADJAHO IS AN NDC,therefore,that alone adds insults to,and suspicion on the whole case.
Why didn't Asiedu Nketia say anything about this issue,until MAHAMA's brother paid his loan?

The theft of merchant bank and it's ramifications on pensioners is already being felt. Information trickling in indicates that pensioners including those under CSIR, FORIG, CRI, BRRI, etc, etc, have not being getting their pensions and as of the January of 2014, they are no longer going to receive their pensions. As to what such hardworking Ghanaians who have contributed their quota to Ghana and are currently on pension going to do in the face of this situation, is left for gov't to let Ghanaians know. Asiedu Nketiah cannot tell Ghanaians that the theft of the bank and it's effects on pensioners is an issue that can be glossed over especially when pension funds are involved. Ghana deserves better.
