There are better traditional checks on the multiple sales of land in the AR than in Accra. Are you now saying the chiefs and family heads in the AR are as corrupt as their Ga counterparts?

You'll find them in the North, South East and West of Ghana! No corner of Ghana is free of thieves parading as chiefs! Our once revered chiefs are not what they used to be. Most of them are involved in murder, fraud, and petty thievery, just like the politicians. As for the double, triple and quadruple sale of plots of land to Ghanaians, they are all, without exception, involved in the practice! Ghana needs a revolution now!

However, talking of development in Kumasi by the Otumfuor is a good idea, but they'll not do it and all left for them(him) do is talking and dreaming.

I urge him to take that hold step, Kumasi isn't well at all, there's nothing in Kumasi, traffics and unnecessary roundabouts are what the city has. Develop it and you'll be proud to see it as Downtown Manhattan.

I remember in my village in the 60s, anybody who wanted to build a house was given land from his clan FREE! Nobody paid for land in the whole village. Even farming land was free. You went to the bush nearby and started farming on any patch of land that no one has already started farming. You farmed in one place for 3 to 4 years and left the place to go fallow and went somewhere else.

But today, pressure of population has made this tradition impracticable. The chiefs who are custodians of the lands on behalf of the people are selling these lands waaa waaa waaa. Suddenly, every piece of land has an owner and even if you are a member of the clan, you have pay money to somebody to get a small piece of land to put up your house. Now, it is no longer enough to give just two bottles of schnapp on a land it belongs to you to build on. People who do not come from your village come and buy the best pieces of the land and pay. This is in the village ooo.

The cities are worse!!!

Government cannot just seize the land that belongs to the people except for specified development projects for which adequate compensation has to be paid. It is the chiefs and the abusuapanins who have to clean their act and not exploit the people.

The most corrupt categories of people in Ghana hindering Ghana's rapid development are first and foremost, the traditional rulers,politicians,the so called self proclaimed men of God(Asofo),the security forces especially the obnoxious BNI,and the docile & afraid people of Ghana,etc.

If we don't change our attitudes and show more patriotism in Ghana,we will continue to lag behind in all sectors of our national development. Due to the look warm attitude of those afore-mentioned,the country called Ghana is gradually being taken over by foreigners especially,the Chinese & Nigerians; these people are now heavily engaged in works/businesses constitutionally reserved for Ghanaians,whereas the authorities mentioned above look on without taking any firm action. If this continues for some decades,Ghana will need another Dr. K.A Busia to come and perform second Aliens Compliance Order. But that may not augur well for those of us living abroad! It's sad watching the ship of state of Ghana sinking gradually. I was in Ghana from 11.11.2013-09.01.2014. My sad observation apart from the stark poverty grabbing majority of the people which is breeding so many social vices, I observed to my greatest disappointment that,there seem to be no law and order in the system;there's total lack of discipline in the country. CRY MY BELOVED GHANA!!! Thank you Steve (AKOKS).
