As a bonafide Ghanaian Citizen he has the right to choose whichever Political leader he can trust to steer the Nation to development.

Even Prempeh II is reported to have made Peace with Nkrumah's CPP until he passed on. Do not tie Ashantis to any particular Political Party. Otumfuor and Manhyia do not owe any Political Party an eternal loyalty.

So, grow up and live like a modern Ghanaian! Leave the King alone if you have nothing good to speak of him.

Asante, Fante, Kwahu, Akyem, Bono, Denkyira, Akwamu etc. are all Akan states. Akan is not a clan! However, Akan have matrilineal clans such as Adako/Oyoko, Bretuo/Tena, Asona, Ekoana, Aduana/Aberade etc. People of the same clan are blood relatives, since they originate from the same great ancestresses. Therefore, for example an Oyoko man from Asante cannot marry an Oyoko woman from Akyem, since they are blood relatives. After all Asante consists of people from different backgrounds. For, example most Asante-Aduanas such as Kumawu, Agogo, Kwaman and most of Asante-Ahafos originate from Akwamu. Likewise some areas of Kumase such as Bantama/Barekese and Adum are all Akwamus just to mention a few. Many Asantes also originate from Denkyira such as Nkawie, the whole Atwima area, Asueyeboa and many other areas. Asante was founded by individual states such as Mampon, Kumase/Kokofu, Dwaben (Juaben), Aduaben, Nsuta, Asumegya/Kumawu etc. to form an union. They did not surrender their independence. As they expaneded they were joint by other states. Asanteman is bigger than Asante region and consists of the whole of Bono-Ahafo region (formerly western-Asante region) with the exception of those reluctant chiefs that illegally broke away namely the New Drobohene, Dormanhene and Takyimanhene. Of states in the Volta region such as Worawora. As well as many areas in the Eastern region and even outside of Ghana. To make it clear for you, for instance the people of the Asona clan of Ejisu and Offinso in Asante and Akyem-Abuakwa are one people. It means fa-atsew-fo, i.e. the half that broke away. Don`t you know, what Asante means? It is derived from Asante-esa nti (singular for "because of war"), esa nti fuo (people who came together because of war),war is esa, singular and asa, plural). Don`t you know, that the founding states of Asante used to be under Adanse until Adanse was overthrown by Denkyira? Don`t you know, when Asantes defeated Denkyira Adanse returned to their former place and then joined Asanteman? So what do you mean when you say someone is an Asante by blood? This is absolute nonesense! Being Asante means you owe allegiance to the Golden Stool of Asante to whom the Asantehene himself is only a servant as well. When someone says, he is an Asante by blood, he means he is a royal of the Adako/Oyoko clan. Even the Asiakwahene (Nifahene of Akyem Abuakwa) is the ancestral brother of the Asantehene and therefore an Asante-royal.

Just like the meaning of Fantse/Fante, the meaning of Asante also has to do with the "division" or separation, if you like. The story - from our oral history and songs - is that both groups were fleeing persecution from the Berber invaders who destroyed the ancient Ghana Empire. At some point during this epic, long flight, our ancestors decided to divide into 2 groups to continue their journey away from danger in the desert. So half of the group ("fa" "tsew" - fuo or the half that separated people) became the Fantsefuo. The remaining group ("asa nte" fuo or the end of division people became the Asante. Asante is a reference to the people who remained at the end of the separation or division, just like Fantse/Fante is a reference to the beginning of the separation / division.

Until the High Priest, Okomfo Anokye, a settler, at Awukugua(now Akwapem )in the then most powerful Akwamu group(The Okomfo was supposed to have originated from 'NGOTSE' in the Volta Region) somehow managed to unite remnants of some of the Akan groups to form the now called - ASANTE. Nana Bawuah, please also note that there was nothing like Anokye in Akan. In fact, Anokye was the ' adulterated form of 'NGOTSE'( The OKOMFO from NGOTSE) by the Akan speaking groups. Please check your history objectively. Check the content VALIDITY and the RELIABILITY of history.

Please don't use F K Buah's school stories about the golden stool falling from the skies as an intellectual source of Asante history. I didn't believe it then as a child and I don't believe it now. The Asante kingdom is very well organised and I would like to know more about their rich history.
However that 'falling from the sky' golden stool is/was a nice story.

Really we Ghanaians need to learn more about the history of our various tribes and how we all came to be what who we are. Long Live Ghana.

Official visits are never shrouded in secret; it is well publicized before, during and even after it has happened. We cannot wait until an event happens before we declare it as official. If there is a wild rumour that a high profile personality is dead and those who are concerned do not react, no harm will be caused. All sensible people know that, there is no reason for which the death of someone (even the death of an ordinary person) would be hidden without any rightful information disclosed on it for some stranger to steal the information to tell others.
Generating unfounded rumours about the death of high profile personalities has become a business in Ghana because of the undue attention given to it. Let us learn to treat such rumours with contempt.

Rather they will be happy if the story is true because this bad and corrupt chief has dragged the good name of Asante and Ghana in the gutters. Afterall, what did he go to South Africa for? Not for medical reasons? So if by chance the Good Lord has taken him to the cemetery shouldn't Ghanaians be happy but alarmed? No way.
