His father used to be the bursar at Mawuli School, Ho, and he started from there upon his return, so this story can be verified. I really don't care for the late Dad though, for some personal grudge I bore him. Anyway, if the family now owns 9 filling stations, that won't surprise me. After all, that impostor and charlatan Nyonyo started much later and own over 50!

The one and only sure way to solve the rot that took place at NYEP/GYEEDA is to prosecute all MP and president at the time the program was launched in Ghana. Anything short will be a sham and an attempt to pull a fast one on Ghanaians. The problem we face under NYEP/GYEEDA is the same old problem with government that gave us the various judgment debt issues yet to be resolved. These are the reasons I pooh-pooh the silliness engaged in by Martin Amidu the great and the Supreme Court of Ghana.
Would any bank or financial institution in Ghana allow an account to be established without a dime deposited at the day of establishing the account and or without people and or entities charged with managing the account? Is that not what figuratively happened with NYEP/GYEEDA? Kufour's NPP government gave the non-thinking yahoos this white elephant called NYEP without funding base and or oversight responsibilities to any agency of government. With some NPP loyalists well established within the offices of NYEP, the NDC administrators were compelled to play ball with NPP holdovers.
Anyone who is willing to know the truth about NYEP/GYEEDA need to start with each one of the contracts signed by and on behalf of government. The young boys who used to roam the NYEP offices as accountants were nothing more than snort-nosed thieves ready to acquire riches without work. From the beneficiary and staff ID badge fiasco to the pension funds of NYEP staff, contracts were structured to benefit old NPP holdover staff and the NDC new entries eager to get rich. The NDC management lot decided if they could not fight these money hungry NPP holdovers they might as well join in the fray. Someone should ask how and who won the contract for the staff and beneficiary ID/badge project? They should check to see how many badges/ID were stipulated in the contract and for what amount? Someone should follow the deductions from the paychecks of NYEP staff and where the money goes? Someone should inquire about the exact amounts that get to the so-called investment managing company for investments, the month or quarterly returns and investment fund managers report to the owners of those investment funds?
The lack of critical thinking, lack of daily operational supervision and annual oversight agency tasked with reasonable auditing of NYEP/GYEEDA and even Ghana audit services and their sham of audit work has allowed the people of Ghana to suffer while a miniscule amount of tribal zealots in high places loot our national coffers blind. Why has punishment not deterred anyone in Ghana? Our system of investigations and commission setups after the fact has been another way for government appointees to make money as commissioners without meaningful and worthwhile results. The NPP, the so-called party of intellectuals is a party of polished crooks who have engaged in the art of destruction of public work products that limit any oversight action from within the party or from the NDC.
The very foolishness that allowed Kufour to sell Ghana assets without input from a parliament of critical thinkers is the same ailment that allowed people to enter into binding contracts on behalf of government with private entities and even foreign nations. Yet Martin Amidu and the Supreme Court can be busy looking at technicalities of contracts without moral imperative that comes with just laws. Laws in Ghana lacking moral compass and or society moral standing cannot stand or cannot be sustained. The approach by Martin Amiodu, The Supreme Court and the various investigative bodies going after people have missed the moral boat because they all fail to solve the underlying issue of immoral and illegitimate laws and actions of Ghana's parliament signed into law by presidents.
