They don't beed to even shoot them. Just sprikle your crops with ash or add salt to polythene bags on your crops and all the cattle who eat your crops will die. Can this happen at the North of Ghana or Nigeria? Just poison them and htere will be no cattle to destroy your farms.

Surely, this is the way out. "When persuasion fails force must be applied". They should not just wait until the cattle enter their farms. The farmers must rather hunt and chase the animals from the entire farming area.

The advisory should rather be for the farmers to catch these stray animals, bring them to the District stray animals pond, where the owners will be fined/charged when they come for their collection. The money realized would be given to the poor farmers as compensation for the destroyed farm crops... Usually, when the animals owners fail to collect their ponded animals, the district has the power to auction them off, The monies would then be used as compensation and cost for their upkeep in the pond.

If you want me to advocate another form of criminality.. then I would suggest that the farmers spray their crops with some toxic pesticides that are likely to poison and even kill the cows.. so that the animals would learn not to graze there again. Criminal again, but this time around, the poor farmers can argue in court that the they had only targeted the pests destroying their crops and did not intend to kill any cows. A better plan isn't it?
