  Retaining the IGP is the problem. Anybody who is familiar with the Police establishment will confirm that , as long as the IGP is retained for another two ( 2 ) years , it would be very difficult to promote those under him. Most of those under him has about two or three years to go on pension. Yes, some of us agreed that , the Police Service is sitting on a time bomb.

  The IGP's retention is never a problem. He was the most senior in rank at the time of his first appointment, so promoting those under him does not in anyway threaten his position or undermine his authority. He was not promote ...

  The IGP's retention is never a problem. He was the most senior in rank at the time of his first appointment, so promoting those under him does not in anyway threaten his position or undermine his authority. He was not promoted above his seniors, as was done to some of those now clamoring for promotions. When officers lobby to be promoted above their colleagues, there is bound to be a point where they hit the brick wall and mark time for the rest to catch up and sometimes even surpass them, because those promotions were never based on merit. What time bomb are you talking of? Promotion is based on availabilty of vacancies, it was never meant to be automatic. The Police Council therefore needs to be consistent and not be seen to be favouring some Police officers with cheap promotions while others are made to go the full trottle.

  IT IS TRUE. THE POINT IN QUESTION IS AT THE POLICE HOSPITAL WHERE OFFICERS ARE DENIED PROMOTIONS EVEN THOUGH THE CURRENT CI 76 DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE AS TO WHO GETS PROMOTED. THE SAD ASPECT IS THESE OFFICERS WRITE THE SAME EXA ...

  IT IS TRUE. THE POINT IN QUESTION IS AT THE POLICE HOSPITAL WHERE OFFICERS ARE DENIED PROMOTIONS EVEN THOUGH THE CURRENT CI 76 DOES NOT DISCRIMINATE AS TO WHO GETS PROMOTED. THE SAD ASPECT IS THESE OFFICERS WRITE THE SAME EXAMS AT THE POLICE COLLEGE WITH THEIR COLLEAGUES AND DO WELL BUT THE POLICE LEADERSHIP ARE SO OBSESSED THAT THEY WOULD NOT LIKE TO PROMOTE ESPECIALLY THOSE OFFICERS AT THE POLICE SERVICE. IT IS TIME THE POLICE ADMINISTRATION IS TAKEN TO COURT FOR VIOLATING THE RIGHTS OF SOME OFFICERS BY NOT PROMOTING THEM EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE DUE AND QUALIFIED.

  What calendar is DCOP Rev. talking about?. First it was the increment that was given for 2013. and now it is promotion for senior officers. precisely those C/SUPT. due to be promoted to ACP. If they do not move it becomes difficult for the others to move unless they decide to promote COURSE 33 above that of COURSE 32. AS THEY HAVE ALREADY DONE IT FOR ONE OF THEM.If they wanted somebody to promote and head the STAFF COLLEGE at Wineba ,who is more qualified than the present NIMA DIV.COMMANDER? All eyes are watching.

  Very good they dont deserve any promotion all they think is money crying for promotion for salary incriment ghana pay you officers enough to work us a professionals but what do you give them back corruption.I hope now is professoinalism.zero corruption. working for the government instead of thier pockets with all this money thier taking on the roads and in the police station.if this money will go legally to the state acounts it can be use for road repairs or to pay our doctors. what a selfish institution not all but most.
