If this is happening within people who are supposed to know better where are we heading? Is the minister also saying that he/she hasn't heard about any impeding imposition of road toll. What a docile, ignorant, sheepish Ghanaians we have for not resisting this toll until this truly militant, heroic, patriotic students intervened.this presages more of such barbaric acts, NO MORE PROUD TO BE A GHANAIAN.

Certain roads on campus are closed, did the roads minister control this as well? The more vehicles traversing a road the more wear and tear and the shorter the life of the road, I would suggest to the university authorities to restrict the flow of non university vehicles within the university after all this is what was happening before, if you no get sticker you no go go inside period ! When the road gets run down who fixeds the road? the minister? no - it is for all intents and purposes a private road, the university should be allowed to do as they please my 2cents

The university roads are not highways which any vehicle can use as it chooses. And being a private estate which takes loans to repair the roads it has every right to find means to pay for future repairs. The university should make the use of the roads free to its workers, students and lectures. All other users should pay.If the government rejects the tolls it should take over the responsibility of repairing the roads as and when necessary.

The audacity of morons, since when was legon a private property. No wonder your entire country has become the property of Mahama, who can on his own nullify the collection of windfall taxes without parliamentary approval. This is exactly what happens at the Semi Border between Benin and Nigeria. Everyone can claim a portion of the road on that border to collect tolls, there are at least over 50 toll collectors, with seemly none in charge. Legon is not the Vatican, it belongs to the good people of Ghana, the people are entitled to free access!

All what Duncan Williams said about the "falling Cedi" cannot be said to be a prayer for divine intervention.
It was a complete display of arrogance towards God. What he said was either an "instruction" or "warning" to God because he said in part that "I declare the Cedi will not fall;it will not fall any further. I command the Cedi to climb. I command and release a miracle for the economy".
The "I" in his speech refers to himself but not God. The speech smack of arrogance. Duncan Williams can never command anything to happen and it will come to pass..What kind of prayer is this?
God has already given us the wisdom to manage the resources of this country. He has also made his laws already and these laws can never be defied.
What is happening in Ghana now are the consequences of the actions of our leaders and they are of God.God will never change his laws, we must rather change our actions if we want to see any positive change.

"The times they are a-changin'', a song by Bob Dylan in the 60's, clearly speaks to what is going on in our world today. Things are changing so fast that we fail to see and appreciate the consequences of some of the remarkable changes.
Case in point Legon in the 1964 was a lot different from Legon in 2014: more students, more cars, more encroachment of Legon lands, more drive through of Legon lands to get to the encrochers who by the way have nothing to do with the university. But the increase in thoroughfare has over the years resulted in the greater use of Legon roads, thereby increasing the rate of damage to Legon roads.
Maintaining and fixing damaged roads, of course, cost money. A fact the parliamentary committee, who are myopically rejecting the Legon road tolls tolls, is overlooking.
The university authorities therefore have to find money from somewhere to pay the government for fixing the damaged Legon roads. The Legon authorities have the option of raising students' fees, cut down students'related services, impose road tolls, or prevent the encrochers from driving through Legon lands. The Legon authorities I feel did the right thing by thinking out of the box in imposing the road tolls; however, they should not exempt lecturers and faculty, and reduce the amount of tolls students who refuse to ride the Legon bus have to pay.
The Legon authorities and the students should organize the Legon toll into a money making venture to be able to pay what they owe the government, pay the maintenance of Legon roads, and see to the beautification of the Legon campus.
