Please, be proud of what had been built in the past and continued improving until all is up to date.
How could a country like Ghana develop, when the rich spent most of their money, attending and paying hospital fees in other countries?
The message to the middle and lower Ghanaians is, you are doomed whenever got sick, simple because may be Ghana hospitals are worth the money spent to built it.
If the above statements are wrong, than how came all so called elites members of Ghana engaged in tripe to SA for medical assessment?

It is truly pathetic that fifty years after independence the Asantehene and the President of the country, and for that matter anybody who is somebody in the country, have to go to another country to get a "routine medical chech-up".

I wish Otumfuo would be reading this or his secretaries would and inform him. If the whole point is that Ghanaian Hospitals are not GOOD ENOUGH, what about using the money from the Royalties on Gold etc. to develop the Okomfo Anokye Hospital into a First Class Medical outfit to rival those abroad?. First, it will elevate the name of Okomfo Anokye further. After all, he was the 'Spiritual Father' of the Asante Nation. Secondly, it will attract 'Elite Patients' from other parts of Africa and the world. I am pretty sure there are enough Ghanaian Doctors with the requisite skills and experience to man and modern hospital! One point that baffles me is that the so-called developed nations who are always seeking to send us aid and loans do not encourage us to develop our own facilities. What about these nations denying our elites visas when they apply to travel for medical treatment asking them to upgrade our own hospitals?! Where do most of the wealth looted by our political elites go? Banks in these same developed nations!. No questions are asked!
But what am I talking about? In a pure Capitalist Economy that has a stranglehold on the world, the most essential thing is the PROFIT without any 'Ethical Principles'! If it were not so, the suggestion above would really show that the developed world seriously want us also to develop. May God help us and forgive me for my naivety.

The President leaves the Country for another country for medical check-up and we the people are not even told of the country he went or how many days he spent there. We are always lied to. Those who have the courage to ask are insulted by sycophants.

The Leader of the Opposition leaves for medical check-up and had stayed in that country for almost a year controlling his party remotely from other country. He even has ladies club formed for him to enjoy himself there. His followers will insult you if you were to ask why he has been there for so long but they are quick to find out why the president is away somewhere. Silly parochial and partisan politics destroying my good country.

The MPs and the Ministers leave the country for another country to have their medical check-ups. The no-gooders have the right to leave the country at will for no reasons. Some even leave to have their babies in county hospitals at the mercy of some people, including the homosexuals that they so despise. And that reminds of the Nigerian MPs...flocking to NYCity to have the babies of their numerous girlfriends.

The Pastors of the mega-churches leave the country for another country to have their medical check-ups. Yes, they can even pray to cure HIV/AIDS, but very quick to leave the land for advanced country for their medical check-ups. And not only their medical check-ups, but to have properties in these foreign countries just like political counterparts and to have foreign papers also.

And the KINGS (not the village chiefs) leave the country for another country for the medical check-ups.

The good PEOPLE of GHANA are the losers here. They are the only one that can't leave the country for their medical check-ups; they have been left out of the equation. Yet, in a democratic country, the Government should be BY the people, OF the people and FOR the people.

But what do I see in Kumasi now? The people who have been left out of the equation are the ONES leaving their houses and throwing their cloths on the ground for the KING to walk on and that reminds me when Kotoko came to relax in boarding school before their match. We the Kumapim fans took our white bed sheets and placed them on the ground from the bus to their assigned rooms, just to annoy the Phobian guys in school. Oh boy, we were stupid but we were so happy that day. That is what is happening at Kumasi now. Stupidly and sheepishly, the people are singing hossana, hossana to the highest to the the King who selfishly abandoned them and placed his own health interests above theirs. Why do I say this?

The Ashanti Region is the only region on NHIS capitation; it has been on the a pilot program for years. This is probably the only pilot program in the whole world that has gone on for years without end in sight. Yet, Nana Kwaku Duah could care less about that; I am yet to hear him raising his voice against undemocratic barbaric act by these crooks in NDC as he did sometime ago against the Techimanhene on Chieftaincy issues.

Very disgraceful and despicable, if you ask me.
