I am not surprised when the cedi is falling. The crisis came about as a result of government's mismanagement of state resources coupled with free-fall corruption in the system. It is a fact that millions of Ghana cedis find their way into private pockets while the perpetrators go unpanished. Government spends excessively over very stupid things to the detriment of the poor tax payer. Why should government buy cars and rent houses for ministers, deputy ministers and other numerous state and public officials at the expense of the state? These ministers and state officials shoud use their own vehicles or taxis to work as any other government employees do. The government should find a way to stop these wastage in the system. Secondly, government should institute measures in dealing strictly with corruption. Just task all senior high secondary schools to write on a topic like this " The effective ways of dealing with corruption in Ghana". Then the government should select the best 20. One would be surprised what these children would produce. Then, government should pick some of the ideas and implement them because, knowledge, is never found in one man's head. Let us change the way things work in our country. The wastage in our system is too much.

They simply do not have a clue on how to manage the economy and are leading us to a state of poverty and hopelessness. We will continue to be over dependent on imports so if you increase vat and other taxes, facilitate the devaluation of teh currency through pro black market adhoc initiatives with no clear timeframe of what the end result will be.
