  Where people have been put in positions,they have no knowledge about,is it surprising for Pastors to act as Psychiatrics.
  Thee whole system in Ghana needs a complete overhauling.

  Most of this mental institutions enjoy immense donor support.Drugs and other logistics supplied free,including money for upgrading this institutions are diverted under cover.How does this tie with shortage of drugs in komfo anokye hospital,the recent scandal involving anti-retrovirals and today's publication in daily graphic about patients needlessly losing limps because of professional negligence or incompetence.The health sector needs a serious scrutiny as the problem stems from the top.

  Terrible state of affairs! Have a friend who is mentally challenged and is a severe burden Family cant control him, and we have nowhere to turn to. Severe drain on the family as gvt agencies not helping

  Indeed a very sad state of affairs. Rather than condemn and insult; the question we need to ask ourselves is how did we get to this point? Lack of resources from families and the govt. What outreach and education has been undertaken by the Ministry of Health to help Ghanaians understand mental illness. A few doses of anti-psychotic, or anti-depressants or Mood Stabilzers or anti-anxiety medication will help these people. Remember as a friend always sys "...in the absence of good bad is good". This problem can be eeasily solved.
